Mellamomellamo  [author] Feb 16, 2022 @ 11:22pm
we already resesrched this gun extensively when we made.it
Mellamomellamo  [author] Feb 16, 2022 @ 11:22pm
it isnt, because the model only has 1 trigger

Model 1918 Bigrillo variant

"This was an improved twin-trigger version of the M1918. This model could provide both automatic fire and single shots. The furniture for the Bigrillo variant was, unlike the standard M1918, built from the ground-up and not recycled from the Vetterli rifle. The folding Carcano bayonet was also omitted in this model. This version was reportedly made at Manifattura Italiana d’Armi, or MIDA." - gun wiki

Assuming this is correct (which it very well might not be), the arcade version could potentially be realistic, with different furniture and no bayo

long live the kingdom of Italy
steathgreninja May 16, 2021 @ 1:13pm
still great gun
LimpetArch May 16, 2021 @ 12:32pm
oh and small correction on my statement: The M1918 was actually semi-auto from the very beginning. The only difference is that originally it was open bolt, before being closed bolt.
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 16, 2021 @ 12:30pm
Also there's actually an automatic "arcade" version in the mod, which is supposed to be ahistorical by itself
LimpetArch May 16, 2021 @ 12:27pm
@stealthgreninja I think you are struck by a few misconceptions.

1- This project caters toward actual IRL details. So inadequacies for gameplay purpose would not find their way here. IRL, the sights were to the right side, not the left.

2- This is WW2, not WW1. And after WW2, the fully-automatic only nature was ditched for a semi-automatic only because reliability issues. Plus, why another SMG when a PCC that isn't a shoulder-fired pistol can be done?

3- If you want to go automatic, go crave for the Bigrillo model as it didn't seen any post-war conversion whatsoever. Even this, odds are it got short-lived because production had to be done from the ground up. And I don't think this project would ever accept a prototype that got only produced once " just because it exists ".
steathgreninja May 16, 2021 @ 12:24pm
me too
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 16, 2021 @ 12:24pm
I've never played Bf5
steathgreninja May 16, 2021 @ 12:21pm
still i loved playing battlefield 1942 more than the bf5 so the simple animation is always in my head
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 16, 2021 @ 12:19pm
The MP40's bolt is because for a long time that was one of the more iconic reloads of the MP40 in video games, and for the sights, there's a difference between a minor .1 sec movement in the animations and making the sights just not be where they should be
steathgreninja May 16, 2021 @ 12:16pm
for fun? also why with the mp40 you do the pull back in the safety lock animation than slap like a mp5 when its easier to simply pull it back?
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 16, 2021 @ 11:26am
No, why would we make the sight not be where it should be?
steathgreninja May 16, 2021 @ 11:25am
could you make one anyway
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 16, 2021 @ 1:14am
Yes, quite literally every single picture of a Beretta M1918 has the sights on the right. They are only on the left on Bf1 and 3D models made by people who based them on Bf1's
steathgreninja May 15, 2021 @ 8:40pm
are you sure it was on the right?
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 10, 2021 @ 11:48pm
OMG
King_CreepaLot May 10, 2021 @ 11:43pm
merlla you better chang ethis to the 'accurate' one right now, mvoe the sight!
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 10, 2021 @ 11:41pm
The sight irl was on the right on this gun, and also the automatic one had two triggers :/
steathgreninja May 10, 2021 @ 3:09pm
i would prefere the one from battlefield 1 not Enlisted because the sight is one the wrong side in enlisted.
Mellamomellamo  [author] May 9, 2021 @ 10:58pm
A gun that never worked, that was never produced in any significant numbers, and that most likely was just a prototype machine gun
McShooty May 9, 2021 @ 2:09pm
i have a sugestion: the Standschütze Hellriegel M1915
i really want a good mod for this weapon but it never happens, and the ones on the workshop are ok at best
