Update?

@cubicpsycho any word?

Hey! Quick Question, any chance to add an alternate path for the meals?
It drives me nuts when I run out of Sauced meals, make a bunch of unsauced meals, then a harvest comes in and I suddenly have a ton of food, a ton of Allspice, and Bionic Arm - making colonists who don't know how to operate the pepper shaker!

Ingredients > X Meal > Sauced X Meal
Same work as the difference between Regular and Sauced
doesn't require Cooking level, inherits hidden variables from ingredient Meal.

@cubicPsycho @tidal Nice! I love the work you modders put into the game, makes playing so much more enjoyable! 💜
tidal  [author] Nov 10, 2022 @ 5:28am
@cubicPsycho: go for it
cubicPsycho Nov 5, 2022 @ 5:04pm
Hey! I was wondering if you were too busy to update this mod if I could continue it for you and maybe merge it with Sauced Bakes?
H2OJosh Oct 25, 2022 @ 11:54pm
I love this mod, hoping for 1.4 sooner or later 💜
NothingToSay Oct 21, 2022 @ 2:55pm
1.4?
Kurzaen Mar 21, 2022 @ 12:21pm
I was wondering, I'd like to make Vegetarian Fine meals but have them sauced, but I only have the option to make the one that includes meat, is there any way to add that, or maybe a patch somewhere?
The Gaming Archaeologist Mar 16, 2022 @ 3:17pm
This really helps! Especially as I've had times where I was stuck with loads of condiments, but no food...
tidal  [author] Feb 24, 2022 @ 1:16pm
@Lurmey: That would be a change on VGP's side to support VE Cooking's condiments.
Lurmey Feb 22, 2022 @ 12:33am
I would love for this to support VGP Garden Gourmet. I want to add Agave Nectar or Chocolate to my porridge!
dendroid101 Feb 20, 2022 @ 1:21pm
I thought this wasn't a thing, where have you been all my life? Haha thanks for making this
qux Sep 21, 2021 @ 8:18am
thanks !
tidal  [author] Sep 21, 2021 @ 8:08am
Added the French translation.

@Lark: You'd DM me, but I'm not taking commissions rn.
Lark Sep 13, 2021 @ 11:22am
How do we commission mods from you? I noticed you mentioned you'd make a Sauced soup mod for example if commissioned.
tidal  [author] Sep 8, 2021 @ 6:39pm
@qux: will do.
qux Sep 8, 2021 @ 9:26am
tidal  [author] Aug 30, 2021 @ 3:16pm
@cubicPsycho: I'd do them if I got commissioned for it, as it stands now I'm not interested in doing so since the mod is otherwise complete. I believe Chowder was going to work on sauced grills a little while ago but I'm not sure how that ended up.
cubicPsycho Aug 30, 2021 @ 9:29am
Sorry if you get this a lot, but is it possible we could see sauced desserts, grills, soups, etc in the future?
Paradichlorobenzene Aug 30, 2021 @ 6:24am
can you add sauced variants of the vegetarian and carnivore meals?
Tam Aug 21, 2021 @ 1:13pm
Thanks guys i've figured this out!
Due to midgame installation spiced meals weren't checked green in their eating policy.
tidal  [author] Aug 21, 2021 @ 1:04pm
Thanks for the tip!
Arnovitz Aug 21, 2021 @ 12:51pm
@Tamm: Sometimes pawns will take lower quality meals over fine or lavish meals simply because they are available. One way to prevent this is to edit their default foods using Better Pawn Control and create a new food selection for them that only includes fine or lavish meals (or only sauced meals).
tidal  [author] Aug 21, 2021 @ 12:01pm
@Tamm: shouldn't happen, sauced fine meals share preferability with fine meals.
Tam Aug 21, 2021 @ 11:21am
Greetings
My pawns prefer simple meal over Sauced Fine Meal, any solution to fix this ?
tidal  [author] Aug 10, 2021 @ 8:11pm
Fixed, thanks.
Arnovitz Aug 10, 2021 @ 8:08pm
Great mod, but the bulk meal recipes need to be fixed to use 4x the condiment. Your sauced baked meals in the other mod follow this rule.
tidal  [author] Jul 25, 2021 @ 3:26pm
Alright, all fixed. Thanks for the heads-up!
Paradichlorobenzene Jul 24, 2021 @ 10:41pm
There is a recipe def, I have the ingredients, but pawns aren't cooking.
tidal  [author] Jul 23, 2021 @ 10:59pm
@Paradichlorobenzene: can you further describe your issue? is it not showing up at all? or breaking after cooking?
tidal  [author] Jul 23, 2021 @ 10:52pm
Meals got some changes, I'll take a look and see if anything needs to be added.
Paradichlorobenzene Jul 23, 2021 @ 7:22pm
I can't seem to cook sauced meals.
tidal  [author] Jul 22, 2021 @ 11:01am
I think meals with the same condiments are stackable now? So it'll definitely improve usability.
CORVOID Jul 21, 2021 @ 9:09pm
I mean... it just makes sense, right? Why leave condiments to those wasteful gourmet meals when they should be usable for any other meal?
Annabellee Jul 16, 2021 @ 12:30pm
Thanks for the news about the update this make condiment so much mode use full
tidal  [author] Jul 15, 2021 @ 6:24pm
Yeah, I'll update my cooking stuff now that VE updated.
Sivlero32 Jul 15, 2021 @ 5:30pm
you gonna update this to 1.3?
cubicPsycho Apr 23, 2021 @ 10:31am
Darn
tidal  [author] Apr 22, 2021 @ 10:28pm
@cubicPsycho: the way condiments give their effect is on ingestion of the ingredient, so saucing (adding a condiment ingredient) to a pre-existing meal would have the same issue because it would be fundamentally the same thing.
cubicPsycho Apr 22, 2021 @ 8:47pm
I know you're done with the mod, but do you think adding the ability to sauce pre-existing meals would be something to consider? Just so making sauced meals with different ingredients won't take away their ability to stack
tidal  [author] Apr 20, 2021 @ 1:59am
Outside of bug fixes, this mod will not get any changes or new features.
tidal  [author] Apr 20, 2021 @ 1:57am
There's a changelog on the main page?
ZzZombo Apr 20, 2021 @ 1:53am
Please use the Changelog section! Thanks!

@the_abiogenist I'm not sure what you mean. Nutrient paste is great for large colonies. Without it, you'll need at least one cook spending a large amount of time cooking, and your farmers need to spend a significant amount of time farming. Nutrient paste doesn't need a cook and doubles food output compared to regular cooking, halving the amount of time and space needed for growing food. When you have 10 pawns or so, that's a lot of newly freed up time and space.
