Sparse Stars

Density will vary quite a bit across different parts of the map, just due to how the game distributes the stars. The exact density value I used is one third of the default value - older versions of this mod had much sparser settings, but sadly the value we have now seems to be the lowest you can go without breaking quests.

I installed it and I think it didnt change much on a new universe

There's absolutely no difference in the patches. The file size difference comes from this mod's thumbnail being packed via the upload tool, whereas the author of Pale Sky appears to have uploaded the image directly to Steam.

Besides the obvious file size.
What is different between this and the Pale Sky mod?

The game has particular positions at which stars can spawn; the density setting simply tells it how many of those possible stars it should actualize. If you've played with mods that add new star types, you've probably noticed some appearing in concentrated groups, and that's not a coincidence - note the 'bands' that become visually apparent when the density is turned way up: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1290296311

In other words, the mods are compatible in the sense that they do not interact at all. However, if you're looking for a particular type of star, you may find them appearing almost never or sporadically in tight groups, since potentially already-rare star types are being given lower chances to appear.

This looks ideal to use with Story Disabler and possibly TrueSpace in mind.
Not only does it make it a bit easier to navigate nearby stars, but this could make the universe feel a bit more unsettling by making each star feel much more distant & isolated.

But I have a question about how it works with mods that add star systems in the game.
I already know that it's compatible with Project Ancient Cosmos (the black hole systems in the 2nd image,) but when it comes to TrueSpace & Frackin' Universe, it's reasonable to ask if they're compatible with your mod.

Tips for generating Peacekeeper Station: After a while of toying with this tweak, I've found that there isn't any particular value which will work with the bounty hunting quest 100% of the time.

From what I can tell, the game only searches systems within a certain distance of your position; if there aren't valid positions within the search area, it will be searching forever.

As you might know from other mods, installing more possible planets and star systems decreases the probability that there will be a valid system within the search area.

I know of two ways around this problem: Firstly, you can delete your universe, and hope that you'll have better luck with the newly-generated one. Alternatively, you can uninstall this mod to allow greater density in the search area, generate the Station, then reinstall this mod.
It's also possible that traveling extremely far will update the search area, but I've yet to confirm this.

I adjusted the density value to one that unbroke spawning for me. Please tell me if you continue to encounter this problem.

I've started some attempts at fixing the bug with Peacekeeper Station. I believe it may have to do with some parameter controlling spawn distance, but I have no idea where to look. If anybody knows what "newAssignmentDistance" in quests\bounty\assignment.config does, please tell me. Changing it did not fix the bug.

I request a Bounty Hunter Questline removal so I dont break my game when I use this mod?

@IdiosyncratiCm7 Yes, it seems you've outed me. Tucked away in those 118 kilobytes, I slipped in a CYBER-NUKE! It's spread too far for you to stop it now, hero. Your agency will declare me supreme emperor of this planet, or you can all say goodbye to your precious NFCs and Nvidia brand graphics processing units! Mwahahahaha!

Finally, map will be less laggy. Thank you very much!

I always found it strange how there are so many stars with the exact same planet types and civilizations. At least now there are less of them xD

@IdiosyncratiCm7 You should try Futara's dragon engine to help with that.
