can you make this for dei? looks pretty but i dont play vanilla camping for years xd also a lot of ppl plays whit dei
Axland Oct 31, 2019 @ 3:35am
Great skins, but in order to keep historic fidelity I must say ancient cavalry never used infantry shields at all, only small round shields in some units. Rome 2 deserve more accurate depictions.
Steerpike  [author] Apr 27, 2018 @ 3:25pm
My work on the all vanilla re-skin continues! My work schedule slows things down significantly, but know that it's still a priority!
Gleen Cross Apr 25, 2018 @ 2:41am
This looks cool. It's possible to make an 'all in one' version, featuring every faction? I have a vague memory about a huge reskin pack, 1+ gb and etc... But I forgot the name =/ Or if you can recommend more reskins, that would be appreciated. I tried to search around, but there's only roman reskins. From that pack, the author even reskineed the naked gaul units, lol

Naja ok thanks for the info. Btw this reskin looking great too. Btw why can only use a reskin mod not the mod that i like from all and all the other reskin mods CTD the game. I always unchek all of the mod that i have and try with the other.!??? Again i play with 17 patch not the new one.!???
Steerpike  [author] Dec 9, 2017 @ 2:23pm
This mod is no longer supported. I'm working (ever so slowly) on a complete re-skin/re-texture for all of RTW 2. It will incorporate a total re-do of the Roman faction too. They look even better in the new mod than this old one. ;-)
Dim Val's Games Dec 9, 2017 @ 1:45am
Hello. I have problem with this mod because it says that is for an older version of the game.!? Btw I play with patch 17 and the other problem is that I can only use just one mod reskin for Romans and all of the other I have CTD..!
[JG27] Schellenberg Nov 7, 2016 @ 2:28am
not correct DEI for!
Teolorian Oct 9, 2016 @ 4:03am
can you cooperate with the divide et impera team and make a reskin for their units as well ? that whould be much appreciated . your reskin is much much better looking than theirs .
Shrektopia Nov 2, 2015 @ 1:35am
@Naja could you add some diversity to the veteran units (First Cohort, Evocati, Eagle, etc) such as cloaks or accessories? As they are all identical to the regular legionaries. Great mod though, best Roman one around :)
Gogomir May 3, 2015 @ 6:33am
0k .. thanks Naja ... :)
Steerpike  [author] May 2, 2015 @ 3:51pm
Because in Divide et Impera, there are unique legionary units. This mod keeps the generic Legionary Cohort, etc.
Gogomir May 2, 2015 @ 4:14am
I use the divide et impera mod, but when I instal this mod, the units in the game stays the same. Any suggestions what to do?
Drake22 Mar 20, 2015 @ 4:44pm
Sounds exciting, looking forward to see what you do with carthage.
Steerpike  [author] Mar 20, 2015 @ 12:59pm
That's the point, Drake. I made them into generic, all-purpose archer auxilia. Just a personal taste.

FYI, this mod is prettymuch abandoned. I am working on an entirely new mod to re-skin and re-color every RTW2 unit. Very ambitious! It will be called Imago Verum.
Drake22 Mar 17, 2015 @ 3:03pm
Actually there is 1 update needed, when you reskinned the syrian archers you forgot to tag the auxilla resource required for them, so they are recruitable anywhere.
Drake22 Mar 15, 2015 @ 3:30pm
Just a reskin, no update needed.
steve_ford85 Feb 8, 2015 @ 5:21pm

Last thing, I know that this is possible (other modders have done it) - could you give auxiliary units faces from different cultures? - since they were recruited from non-Roman-citizens they should have different facial features to reflect this (German, African, Punic, Desert Nomadic, Eastern, Greek): in addition to this, could you give Auxiliary Syrian Archers the helmets that normal Syrian Archers use - they should still wear Roman lorica hamata, but Trajan's Column shows that they did wear "Eastern" helmets (that the normal Syrian Archers wear). Keep up the good work!
vonVince Oct 29, 2014 @ 12:09pm
I've been looking for a Roman reskin mod to use for a long time, and I shall be using this from now on! I think, however, that you should make legionary and auxiliary cavalry look more different from each other; they do have different shield designs, but I think legionary cavalry should have more armor (they currently use same armor designs - maybe give legionary cavalry lorica segmentata among their armor, and have them only use steel helmets as opposed to auxiliary cavalry, who might only use bronze helmets). I also think that Praetorian Guard should look more distinct; they do have their distinct helmets, but maybe you should give them all lorica segmentata and red capes (not purple!).

can you please label the pictures
Spent a while trying to figure out with post marian unit was which
GODzilla Oct 8, 2014 @ 10:41am
I'm...I'm afraid. :( lol :D Will do next time I actually play. ^^
Steerpike  [author] Oct 8, 2014 @ 8:43am
Not sure. Why don't you try it out and see?
GODzilla Oct 8, 2014 @ 1:48am
Question: Can I install Kaziels new republican units together with your mod and load your mod second? So I get his republicans but your units for the imperial era? Thanks in advance.
Steerpike  [author] Oct 7, 2014 @ 8:38pm
Big update. You should notice special officers for Polybian-era units, new shields for Signifers, and now Syrian Auxilia Archers all automatically look like Roman Sagitarii.
[IF-Vet] Odysseus Oct 1, 2014 @ 2:10am
Thx for update
GODzilla Sep 29, 2014 @ 1:04pm
Okay, thanks for the info.
Steerpike  [author] Sep 29, 2014 @ 11:49am
I believe so. It will probably just affect the Romans' coloring.
GODzilla Sep 28, 2014 @ 4:45pm
Will it colide with the "Ancient Colors" mod?
Steerpike  [author] Sep 28, 2014 @ 4:07pm
Aaaaand one more update. I noticed some bugginess with unit coloring, so I made sure to include a file that ensures that your Romans will look dapper dark red. Also affects all the other DLC campaigns (Gaul, Punic, Imperator Augustus).
GODzilla Sep 28, 2014 @ 1:44am
Thanks for the update. :)
Steerpike  [author] Sep 27, 2014 @ 3:44pm
Well, I experimented with the braccae and segmentata on auxilia, and both looked rather lame unfortunately.

However! I just completed a pretty substantial update that adds a lot more color diversity on Polybian-era shields, and more diversity for late-Republic/Principate-era shield textures as well.

I think you'll all enjoy this!
GODzilla Sep 20, 2014 @ 2:03am
Well that's pretty late, isn't it? I guess you'd have to balance gameplay for historical accuracy. Realistically, many players wont even play that long so that the braccae would become historically accurate. With that in mind you might as well go ahead and add it, so that people can enjoy the diversity. ;-)

In this case gameplay should rule over historical accuracy in my honest opinion.
Steerpike  [author] Sep 19, 2014 @ 3:08pm
Also, in Adrian Goldsworthy's "The Complete Roman Army," he mentions breeches like braccae having strong evidence from monuments left by Roman soldiers, as well as the Vindolanda tablets, as early as the 1st century AD (so even early Principate).
Steerpike  [author] Sep 19, 2014 @ 3:00pm
Braccae were pretty common, especially starting around the mid-Principate (period of the Antonine emperors). Here's a picture of a legionary with them:

GODzilla Sep 19, 2014 @ 7:43am
Update sounds sweet, I'm still quite early in the game. Looking forward to the new shields. :)

And about the changes...well the former needs sources that mention their widespread use in that era while the latter only needs a few hints I guess. Since only a few auxilias will wear them. ^^

Can you link to any sources or are these book-sources? Thanks in advance.
Steerpike  [author] Sep 19, 2014 @ 6:45am
Also, I'm debating whether to add braccae (legionary trousers) to Principate-era legionary cohorts and auxilia. Additionally, weighing whether I should add a small amount of segmentata armor in auxilia units (historically they likely wore the armor along with the legionaries).
Steerpike  [author] Sep 19, 2014 @ 6:11am
Major update! For some reason, the Emperor Edition bugged out some shield textures. So while tending to this problem, I decided to completely revamp all the Polybian-era shields. Your early Republic-era Roman shields should be significantly more diverse now, with a lot of extra colors thrown in. Enjoy!
Ciggy Butt Brain Sep 17, 2014 @ 5:21pm
Just noticed if you use this mod in the Emperor Editon, all the Roman factions have red sheilds.
GODzilla Sep 17, 2014 @ 1:51pm
What was the second update @ september 17th for?
Pachinko Sep 17, 2014 @ 5:50am
is it the same colors for all Roman Civil War?
[IF-Vet] Odysseus Sep 17, 2014 @ 2:50am
Already updated? Great work!
GODzilla Sep 17, 2014 @ 1:54am
Thank you! :)
Steerpike  [author] Sep 16, 2014 @ 7:53pm
Updated for the Emperor Edition.
