Chihiro Cyrille May 30, 2018 @ 6:06pm
is this still being updated?
freddy fast bear Dec 26, 2017 @ 10:01am
What is the map mod used in the thumbnail?
Chihiro Cyrille Oct 25, 2017 @ 7:49pm
I really like this mod, and think greece should get some love, can you pls update it?
Chihiro Cyrille Sep 21, 2017 @ 4:19pm
Do you plan on updating this? cuz the description of the ideas are a bit messed up
kapsokroketas Oct 28, 2016 @ 11:09am
Nice. I have yet to find a mod on the workshop that adds units for Greece though. That would be very nice.
[1.Fjg] SavvasLP Sep 24, 2015 @ 3:20am
What is with an update for the latest version of EU4?
Argakyan Aug 12, 2015 @ 5:06am
I think an 'Alexandrian Reconquista" decision or something like that would be cool
Jupiter Jan 6, 2015 @ 4:58pm
Thats fine we can wait bro
TheDefenestrator  [author] Jan 5, 2015 @ 7:40pm
I went in and verified that this works with EuIV v.1.9.2, but that is all. There may not be another update for some time, as real life threw me a curveball and I do not have much time to myself. I'm sorry, I wish I could do more.
Jupiter Jan 5, 2015 @ 2:43pm
Update?
Jupiter Dec 22, 2014 @ 7:41am
Ah okay (Colonist)

someone is working on a change government type mod so that fine too

Keep up the good work with the events and such ;)
Jupiter Dec 22, 2014 @ 7:39am
Indeed, the hellenic religion thing can be solved with the change religions mod that someone else is working on so thats fine.
TheDefenestrator  [author] Dec 22, 2014 @ 7:10am
@The Empire Renaming provinces as they are conquered was already on the agenda since the update that added that. It is a remarkable feature that will make the map look a lot nicer, although I will first need to go through all the Byzantine versions because if it is satisfactory I would rather reuse what is already there rather than replace it.

There may be a government type change in the mod, there may not. If there is then it would come by way of event later on in a successful game. I don't want to change that too much unless they conquer far beyond historical boundaries.

Those are some great event ideas. I can think over them and flesh them out.

I will look over a map of the colonial regions and by the time the mod is finished it will have a Greek name for each colonial region, and it will feel much better than "Greek Brazil", I promise.
TheDefenestrator  [author] Dec 22, 2014 @ 7:06am
@The Empire My thoughts refused to post yesterday, there seemed to be an issue with my Steam connection. I appreciate all of the feedback!

I originally gave them a colonist and then an excellent point was made to me that by the time they are large and/or West enough to colonize the big boys have already taken most of the land so it kind of became a filler idea, as such I replaced it and gave them a little more economic oomph.

I would still like to retain some historical feel with the mod, and as such I don't think I could add Hellenism on good conscience. Nearly all Greeks had embraced Orthodox Christianity by this point and would identify themselves as Romans if asked; as such it is a stretch for me to change that aspect of the game.
Jupiter Dec 21, 2014 @ 11:43am
thoughts?
Jupiter Dec 21, 2014 @ 5:52am
Suggestion for colony names
- America, Elysium - Greek Heaven
- South America, Atlantium - Gates of the World
- Africa, Hellenike Africanus - Hellenic Africa
- Oceania, Hellenike Oceanius - Hellenic Oceania
Jupiter Dec 20, 2014 @ 8:45am
Remember these are just suggestion not demands (i won`t kill you if you don`t do it lol)
Jupiter Dec 20, 2014 @ 8:45am
THINGS TO DO
-You could try putting Hellenism (Greek-Roman Paganism) into the mod - (There are ways of getting hellenism into the game but they are difficult and only work if ported from CK2)
-You try putting in a Hellenic or Greek Tech group
-You could try putting in some Greek unit types - it just renaming really (Hoplites or Hellenic Line Infantry)
-You could try putting in a rename province event to restore the Romen or Greek names of provinces and citys as we conquer them
-A new government type (Hellenic Empire or Republic - it is important however to note that i can install mods to change the government to a Empire so it not to important (being called Emperor is awesome)
-Some new events for greece like restoring the Acropolis or building a the Monument to Leonidas or reclaming Mount Olympus or Build the Anicent Athenian Port. Rebuilding the Colosses of Rhodes and Capturing Rome and Restoring the Circus Maximus and the Colosseum.
-Names of Greek Colonys in America and elsewhere
Jupiter Dec 20, 2014 @ 8:45am
PROS
-Idea names are Good (Could change the uninspiring name of Economic Reforms to A New Era of Trade or Apex of Efficency)
-Nice Colour for the country
-Good Ideas
-Greek Traditions are Fine
-Greek Ambitions are Fine (I suggest something like 1+ colonist as the greek were colonists in antiquity)

CONS
-Nothing as of yet (Not Bias lol)
TheDefenestrator  [author] Dec 19, 2014 @ 4:22pm
@jmac_988 Indeed, but that is an export from CK2 and is not possible in vanilla EU4.

@Deadly_Blessing @The Empire I may be able to do it by the end of the year. Part of the issue has been a lack of feedback concerning what should go into the mod as well as a lack of time and creativity on my part. I have a break between quarters so I may be able to pump something out by January 1st. At the very least I can go through and make sure there are no issues with the newest update and that it is playable.
Jupiter Dec 19, 2014 @ 12:36pm
Update Please?
Pitje Nov 25, 2014 @ 3:16pm
Please, please! Please! Parakalo! =) Update this most beautiful mod! As a Greek, It really does have the potential to reinforce my enthusiastic engagement with the game I so much miss. Thank you in advance.
Etruscan Oct 23, 2014 @ 2:13am
Hellenism is religion eu4 already, i played byzantium in ck2 as a hellenic pagan exported it and it was a religion.
Dubious_Bo15 Sep 24, 2014 @ 4:10pm
Ok, thank you. :)
TheDefenestrator  [author] Sep 24, 2014 @ 5:44am
@Ultrarobprime It's hard to say, real life has been fairly draining recently but I may get to it by the 29th of this month

@German-Pride The Atlantis mod adds Hellenism as a religion, as well as I think Extended Timeline mod (but I'm not sure about that second one). If that's what you're looking for you could give 'em a whirl.
Dubious_Bo15 Sep 23, 2014 @ 3:18pm
ok, which mod is it?
Aqua Rob 95 Sep 22, 2014 @ 12:58pm
What is the ETA of the 1.7.3 update?
TheDefenestrator  [author] Sep 22, 2014 @ 5:46am
I think that there is another mod that adds that, but I don't imagine it will ever be part of this one.
Dubious_Bo15 Sep 21, 2014 @ 4:03pm
Can you add Hellenism as a religion? Ive been looking for that a long time.
TheDefenestrator  [author] Aug 10, 2014 @ 7:55pm
@Apostáti̱s I added a manual download link, just above the update log.
TheDefenestrator  [author] Aug 3, 2014 @ 3:14pm
@Apostáti̱s I will try to have that up in the next couple of days, there will be a link just above the update log.
Triple B Aug 3, 2014 @ 3:11pm
It's not an issue with my workshop, but is is with a friend and I wanted to use this mod in multiplayer. Also I kinda wanted to edit some of the ideas without modding it myself because I am lazy and don't have enough knowledge.
TheDefenestrator  [author] Aug 3, 2014 @ 3:06pm
@Ultrarobprime I'm not sure, I imagine I will have this done by the end of August.

@Apostáti̱s I could, is the subscribe button not working? Is that an over-arching issue with the Steam workshop for EU4?
Triple B Aug 3, 2014 @ 1:18pm
Could you put this up for manual download?
Aqua Rob 95 Jul 27, 2014 @ 6:32pm
When will this be updated for 7.1?
TheDefenestrator  [author] Jun 16, 2014 @ 11:09am
@elmarko98 Hm, I don't know why it isn't working for you. Are you sure you have no other mods enabled?

Another question, is the ae_impact modifier unique to one of the expansions, or is it a part of v1.6?
Elmarko Jun 16, 2014 @ 10:49am
Is there any way I can get version 2.1? 2.2 isn't working for me for some reason (I tried updating, still didn't work)
TheDefenestrator  [author] Jun 14, 2014 @ 10:18am
@edric.kenyon You are welcome.

Update #2 is now online, tweaked some of the ideas and verified that it is functional and "balanced" with v1.6.1 of EU4.

I am taking suggestions for events and/or decisions that can be taken as Greece, all aspects of gameplay are fair game but please keep it simple.
edric.kenyon Jun 13, 2014 @ 11:20pm
thank you :)
HolyPaladin Jun 13, 2014 @ 12:49pm
@CCZKnight. Conversion to Orthodoxy makes total sense, since the Greeks, as most of the ethnic populations of the Ottoman Empire, preserved their faith and did not convert to Islam. The Sultans were actually tolerant (see Tanzimat rulings) on religious matters to maintain stability, as much as that was possible.
TheDefenestrator  [author] Jun 3, 2014 @ 6:11am
@ edric.kenyon I will when I have time to get to it. It will take some troubleshooting to find out what is wrong for starters. I may have to go digging into the base-game code to find what is causing it and what I have been playing with that they changed. I wouldn't expect an update until after college finals, near the beginning of July. Sorry folks.
edric.kenyon Jun 2, 2014 @ 10:26pm
Could you please update this mod to work with recent patch - I would appreciate that - thank you
TheDefenestrator  [author] May 30, 2014 @ 8:26pm
@CCZKnight I'll admit, one of the reasons that the religious conversion is there is because it made it less annoying to try to convert Greece. That was my personal opinion and lack of patience, not really any historicity or logical thought, and it may change at a later date. I want the ambitions and ideas to remain the same right now as they are. Macedonian Nostalgia already gives decreased coring costs and +1 free leader upkeep. That was exactly where I was coming from when I gave them discipline, plus it makes them a more formidable opponent to their hostile neighbors.
Camus Moo May 30, 2014 @ 4:47pm
But keep the discipline, thats good. Many of the greeks may not have had the discipline that the romans had (although there were some like the spartans) but the formations they used created battlefield discipline.
Camus Moo May 30, 2014 @ 4:45pm
And for the ambitions mabe remove the land forcelimit mod and add a small decrease in tech cost or a slight decrease in coring costs. The Greeks always dreamed of restoring Alexanders empire, as short as it was. Or if possible the ambitions could give claims on old greek cities from alexanders time that are still important like Alexandria, Jerusalem, Damascus, and cities like that up through modern Iran. That or adding cores on Alexandria and a couple of cities along the coast of the mediterranean, which would help achieve those goals.
Camus Moo May 30, 2014 @ 4:37pm
Whay the religion change? I highly doubt say newly greek rebels rebelling from ottoman control that are now Sunni would simply convert to Orthadoxy that has possibly not been around for over 100 years. It may may sense if you play from the start as Athens to conquer greece, but what about the greeks rebelling from the ottomans or something like that?
TheDefenestrator  [author] May 10, 2014 @ 8:54am
@jmac_988 Form an Italian state? That is odd.

Some ideas on what may be going on:
1) Is your primary culture Lombard? You have to "Accept Cultural Shift" and get your stability back up. That willl make your primary culture Greek, which is required to form Greece. You may want to read the prerequisites of forming Greece up above.
2) The event will not show up if BYZ still exists. Byzantium somewhat became the Medieval equivalent of Greece/Rome, so if Byzantium still exists then Greece can't really form since many Greeks identified as Byzantine.
3) There is a bug with the mod that no one else has reported.

I would ask that you explore the first two options before we turn to option 3. If there is a bug then I will need to find some free time (recently I have not had much, or when I have I haven't been motivated) to work on fixing it.

I hope you get it to work, if not come back and I will try to fix it!
Etruscan May 6, 2014 @ 9:40am
hey man with the mod activated i dont see any changes what so ever eccept i can randomly form an italian state.(i have no other mods enabled)
TheDefenestrator  [author] Apr 17, 2014 @ 5:25pm
@Goon on Holiday since the most recent update, more was changed so it will conflict more often. Glad you got it to work.
