Thanks for all your great mods. I have been using this mod since day one. Recently (January 2024) I have to migrate from experimental to stable build. Does this mod (and it's submods) still need experimental, or I can just check "distant towns" options in settings in my stable build?. many thanks :)

Can confirm this mod is still needed, multiple locations and town overrides are not covered by the base game still.

I didn't know that. So I'm supposed to be using Project Genesis mod in Experimental? Will My game port over or do i need to restart?

Are you in experimental? The option only exists in experimental, and so this mod requires opting in to that version to work.

Everything has always been on max settings and nothing renders unless in the same cell.

Make sure you've turned up the setting in the options menu as well. It's defaulted to off.

Doesn't seem to be working. Using Reactive World and patch. Still nothing in the distance.

They likely didn't want all locations to have it, to maintain some mystery. Most of what was left out were ruins or other locations in the wilderness. Towns, villages, and other "normal" locations were the ones primarily set to use the new system.

As mentioned in the description, not all towns in vanilla use it. The update added it to many locations, but some were left out. The mod adds it to the other locations, that's all.

What I dont understand, is if this is now an added feature in the beta, why do we need a mod for it. Why is it not an option in game that people can select. I mean, why add the feature if you can only use it with a mod? Doesnt make sense.

Works wonderfully! Thanks a lot. This is most immersive, especially for new players who will travel the lands for the first time and see some tower in the far distance which couldn't be seen before. Great stuff!

@hoover2701 - Yes, it should work fine.

@asddap - The patch is not critical. No major effects from it not having one, just any location added by the mod may not show up at a distance.

And of course make sure you're opted-in to the experimental build. This new system is only on there right now, so you must be on that version for it to work.

Far as I know, no it should not require one. It's a simple setting tweak, rather than new content.
