Kortje, for good looking Iberian units (reskin and more units) try the mod: Big Bad Wolf Iberia Pack.
It makes the Iberians looking more tribal, more wild, fighting torso exposed, especially for the Cantabri and Arevaci. But somehow no bows (except for the Edetani and Cessetani, with faction unlockers)

Hey guys.
Great mod, but on GC I can´t recruit devotio units, veteran slingers and spear hunters. On custum battle works fine. Can anyone help me with this?

Yeah I might actually start this mod again from scratch. To sort out the CTD. And to properly balance it around the current rome 2 balance for things. Won't take as long. Strange thing is I have never gotten this crash which makes it hard to sort out. But then again I have the "dev" version of the mod.

yeah i get ctd on skirmish, not going to annoy myself by starting a campaign with it in the hopes it work. Too bad cause it look interesting.

Dude the mod's got some major bugs. It keeps crashing the game. I think it's some of the skirmishers, but im not quite sure.

I've noticed this mod causes CTDs in custom battle... It would be great if you can fix the problem, my iberian roster feels desertic now

It actually works with the patch without crashing. I just need to change some of the buildings units are recruited from around as they have redone the building system. But it works fine. I'll release that when the patch is released.

However the mercenary submod will overwrite the many of the new campaign changes. While it works you don't get the many of the new changes. I'll change that too and probably release that in a few days. All that would mean for people who don't have the beta patch is they get the beta patch changes early lol.

The assault troops Are supposed to be in between hastati and principes. They really are just a defensive version of Principes and Lybian swordsmen. More armour and defense at the cost of offensive capabilities. They will destroy light troops and will hold the line. But in the long run they won't win against a similar priced unit.

and last thing is is there a possiblity of buting while something that covers the legs of the numdians since well in the desert if ya like that

Yep. In fact some of the units the mercenary ones are also recruitable as base units for some of the non playable as well.

If you want mercenaries you have to also subscribe to the mercenary sub mod linked above and start a new campaign for it to take affect. Like the Vasci guard are recruitable by the Vasconnes tribe. And mercenary northern axemen are recruitable by the Gallecei and Cantabri tribes as normal units.

Hi, I know that this is not the right place to ask questions, but I wonder if you know how to add a unit's mount with a custom .variantmeshdefinition, 'cause everytime I try to do it my edited mod prevents the game from starting... I'm actually trying to create a sub-mod changing a vanilla elephant model with my own one. The description reads you're going to add a custom horse, so maybe you'll be able to answer me...

No wait. I deliberatly didnt give them to the Lusitani. Thats their weakness. Access to good cavalry. Its just not unique to the Arevaci. Its their weakness in vannila and weakness in my mod. They are planned as mercenary unit though. These horsemen were very rare indeed and found to the south and east. Not the north and west.

For the Lusitani I've furthered their stealth abilites and spear prowess with new units. Mountain levies may seem underwhelming but they can fire while stealthed and have precision shot instead of quick reload and have an in general faster reload rate but at a lower net damage. A great baiting unit that can deal the damage when needed and provides a slightly larger morale hit firing while stealthed. Spear hunter are surpringly a historically accurate unit. Great in 1v1 and can still give cavalry a beating. Just keep them out of incoming projectiles.

how to build Devotio cataphracts in campaign ? play as lustani building horse building lv 4 but still can't find them .

Noble fighters shouldn't be cheaper. Unless I made a mistake. Devotio swords are supposed to be slightly cheaper. They are in custom battles at least. Noble fighters may have a slighty different price in the campaign that I didn't notice.

Devotio swords win against noble fighters Devotio swordsmen are great against heavy infantry and survive a cavalry charge a hell of a lot better. Noble fighters just cleave their way through lighter units faster. Devotio swords can also hold an area for way longer. Depends on your tactics. I prefer a unit that lasts than a unit the kills fast. I have lighter cheaper units for that whole the heavy infantry holds the line.

Every other Iberian faction can use these units in the campaign. Making them available for all Iberian factions in custom battles is a lot more work.

Devotio swordsmen require a level 3 iron works building I think its called. Which requires the infantry chainmail research completed. They are a more defensive variant of noble fighters. But noble fighters will deal more casualties faster but die a little quicker.

I'm not quite sure what building chain I need to focus on to get the more powerful units. Could you please tell me? For example the devotio swordsmen would be a fine asset right now.

hm alright fair enough. Just thought that CA messed it up again since the britons didn't have archers either. But they actually did historically. Never did read anything about the iberians. Thank you anyway :)

In the latest patch I've added northern archers. Its a mercenary unit though so you need the mercenary submod. Push into the norther territories and you can get mercenary archers.

Historically the Iberians Didn't actually have archers. The Iberians found the sling to be superior. They hunted with the sling and the javelin. But the men to the north still used bows.

great unit pack, though id really like to see some archers for the 2 iberian factions.. im really sick of CAs contempt for archers.. and no i dont think its historically accurate. for example the britons and the iberians have chainmail och occassionally even plate.. and archery is to advanced for them? how did they hunt? throw shoes? point is.. really want archers :)

I'll get naval units done. But I want to add the rest of the land units and do sme tweaking first. I'm also not that experianced with barbarian navies so I'll have to play a bit more first.

I'm also trying to figure out a way to add mercenary units without making this mod incompatible with some others. Adding mercenaries edits the startpos.esf files. Meaning any other mod that edits that file will be incompatible with this mod. The germanic tribes mod for example. I'll try getting in touch with that modder as thats another popular unit mod. Once mine is done we could make a mod which adds the germanic tribes units and my iberian units for those who want both. I'll also get in touch with radius to make a radius version of this.

what about naval units? There were several colonies of phoenicians in iberia, and frequent trade with britania and greece. Not to mention the carthaginians in the south
