Our of the Box there are no anime sites that are supported. Something like that has to be found and programmed, currently I don't have the time to add something like that.

This means that you are trying to play a video whose format is not yet supported, in this case I suspect that it is MP4. You have to change the game to x86-64 bit BETA and apply the CEF codec fix, this information is also in the workshop description, nothing works if you don't read!!

It uses YouTube explode. The original dev is unable to fix it currently and I'm just trying to due a short term patch of some kind to just get it to play A video, ANY video. I have given up on YouTube for now and am exploring integration for alternate possibilities. Hence my curiousity about DailyMotion etc.
It probably won't work, but this is partly just an educational experience for me anyways. I can send you the mods code if you want to look at it, but it's in csharp and uses an older .net framework with limited possibilities.
I am a very entry level coder, so apologies for lacking some basic knowledge.

@miriam - Isn't the Cinema Mod you are referring to not in use with YT-DLP? Because here it is done with Javascript and Dom Scripting. Without looking at the developer documentation and looking at the source code of the mod I can't know if it will work.

Hey I'm really curious how you got it support DailyMotion. I'm working on trying to patch a mod with similar features to this one in the game Raft and am near giving up with trying to fix it's implementation of YouTube, but would be happy to implement support with other platforms. I'm an entry level coder, but looking to learn and understand more.

That sounds very much like you didn't switch the game to the x86-64 bit beta. See the description at the bottom, where you can select your operating system (Windows, Linux and so on) to get instructions

@Alexisvri - “cinema” name is used in the original addon, but this has been changed to avoid conflicts. use ‘cinema_modded’ as gamemode value instead

If you expect help from someone and they just say “it doesnt work even when i updated”, you don't get any support. i don't want to sound rude but, i need more details. What doesn't work? Are you on beta x64 and CEF codec fix is applied? Are websites blocked/filtered by e.g. parental control systems, DNS blockers (Pihole or even country blocks from the internet provider)?

@Astroboi3001 - To get YouTube or Cinema running you need the x64 bit beta version of Garry's Mod. The game itself runs on a very outdated browser called 'Awesomium' and with the beta version it will be switched to CEF, you can think of it like Google Chrome but for games. You just need to follow the short video guide in the workshop description (“Additional Requirements”).

@The Regulator: You can only change the game mode when you are in the main menu, i.e. disconnect from the singleplayer/p2p instance. Also, this is not the media player addon.

I don't have always the time and resources to solve to issue, there is no warranty/support anymore for youtube. Cinema is open source and anyone can contribute to this.

youtube keeps not working

It was originally like this, but due to changes on the part of Google/YouTube, necessary changes had to be made... now the cef codec fix has to be used too... I can't help it.

i never got the codex fix because originally i thought it was only required if you try to watch videos outside of youtube

Also, I'm going to have to look for another way to keep supporting YouTube, but it looks difficult..

I don't get it, i've been trying for the whole day, got the beta, patched the gmod files - yet any cinema map i try just doesnt show any screens or anything. I can place the media player and use it just fine, but cinema maps just dont have any screens in there and i cant use them.
