This is an unofficial fork of the inactive "Cinema" addon.
➡ Goal: trying to maintain the add-on (as long as possible).

Quick Setup Guide
To simply watch YouTube videos, listen to Soundcloud or watch WebM videos, nothing else is required on Windows. Everything else requires x86-64 BETA branch + GmodPatchTool. Here are setup videos for your specific system. ➡ Windows, MacOS, Linux or Proton

Before using Cinema
  • Sandbox can be activated optionally, but is not supported by us.
  • Media from your local PC cannot be played and will not be visible to other players. → Upload them online (e.g., Google Drive, BunnyCDN, or similar).
  • Countries, internet providers, and platforms sometimes block VPNs/proxies. → disable VPNs/proxies or use split tunneling if necessary to whitelist Garry's Mod.
  • TikTok can sometimes behave strangely and require you to solve an anti-bot puzzle when searching for videos → Use your browser to copy the links.
  • YouTube is not a fan of VPNs/proxies; you will be asked to log in (don't do it!) → disable VPNs/proxies or use split tunneling.
  • YouTube enforces AI voiceovers depending on the country location, which cannot be controlled via JavaScript, so we have no solution for this.
  • Links requested via chat are currently not working.
  • Netflix, Disney+, and others are not supported because VMP[github.com] does not work.
  • A play and pause mechanism is not currently planned to be implemented, as it takes a lot of time to implement something like this.

Very weird then... because I'm a Windows user. Does the addon work with Windows 11? Might be the case then.

If you're using Windows and just want to watch YouTube, you don't need to do anything else, but things change as soon as you start wanting to view sites like TikTok or Twitch. In that case, you'll need the 64-bit BETA BRANCH and the GModPatchTool. This also applies if you're using Linux or macOS!

I've done everything the addon says besides install GMODPatchtool, run at x86-64 branch, don't download the old map, uninstall media player, and the Media Player in the map does STILL NOT appear. Do I NEED to install GMODPatchtool just for the map? :steamfacepalm:

You have to understand that there is no public jellyfin site here, you have to host your own or use someone else's, and the videos must be accessible without logins. The service has not been fully tested or supported. Videos are requested via the pages where it says “details” in the link.

This service is for people who have more experience and not for novice users.

Good that that's been clarified, but it would be useful to know which one caused the problem; it may be causing conflicts with Cinema. Take your time with it.

Everything is working as intended besides (the screenshot was of a frame of a video that made it seem like it wasn't) the weird numbers and letters which change depending on which area of the map you are in. Anyway having disabled everything and only having cinema enabled everything works and the numbers and letters went away, it'd be difficult to find the exact addon that's causing issues so I will labor through that but thank you anyway for the help, luckily it seems to be something simple like an addon and not anything extra.

This is not part of Cinema. Nor should the theater screen look like this. What does it look like when all add-ons are disabled except for Cinema and the corresponding map?
