I agree with your arguments, they have logic. Still, it is a pity that the game does not give us the opportunity to expand the time frame, at least until the 50s, and there is no such technique for slow development. Thank you!

@dr.Yang this mod is intended to be used as "early pre-game start. Like from 30's and currently there are no trains to use for these dates as diesels. If you start in default 60's - I agree, the train is expensive comparing to superior models of diesel trains. I believe the game calculates the pricing based on tonnage of the vehicle and I suppose steam engines are far more heavy (with tender full of coal) making them expensive by game logic, thus economically not liable as soon as diesel locos are out with due dates. Look at the first ever steam loco mod of BR by Fiend - that train set even more expensive and weights a lot. In my personal plays, I find the use of early trains even more feasible on long term: especially in winter hauling cargoes non-stop between cities and remote villages as most of the prewar vehicles from our great modders are still slow moving + snowy roads make them even less effective IMHO.

All this is certainly good, models, all that, and the smoke is coming. But when applied to the economy, if a person plays hardcore-this technique does not make any sense. It should cost-a penny, the license for it is even lower. In theory, these are outdated technologies. So make it economically feasible to use it.

Она должна стоить-копейки, лицензия на нее еще ниже. Теоретически-это устаревшие технологии. Так сделайте экономически оправданной ее применение.

Finally ! Another steam train !

Hello, I am planning to make a mod which includes three trains(HXD1D\3D\FXD3), but I am not familiar with it, could you please help with finishing it.
I have already finished the models, but I don't know neither how to add the sound nor adjust its size

Seriously!!! THANK YOU!!! this game needs so many more steam trains!!! they are one of two things I desperately wish the GD would add: Steam trains and electrified wooden-sleepered rails!

I haven't tried it yet but I believe it's the fuel and the train is classified as diesel train. As far as I know, there's officially nothing like steam trains yet.
