Huh. For some reason now the actual Templar character is holding an invisible gun, and RPGO soldiers use the Templar animations with the gauntlets equipped. Last game, it was the other way around.

Hello there! I'm here because something strange happened: generaly the problem of using shard gauntlet for non templar soldier is that they're holding an invisible rifle. Well I got the opposite, my soldier got a floating rifle while holding nothing. While it is quite endearing to have a floating pet rifle accompagny us to drench the soil with blood, tears and alien fluid, it need to understand that it's not a place for it and it should go back to the vault. Any idea how to proceed?
Also I'm using the caster gauntlet mod and the RPGO mod, but I also had another soldier equipped with it but he didn't get any flying firearm. So I'm not sure if it's responsible for the rifle (I should name it) rebellious phase.

Thanks big for the patch!

However, I seem to have this weird bug where my Templar soldiers (RPGO with Trainable/Recruitable Templars) aren't running the firing animation properly? They reach for the weapon on their thigh socket but the weapon never leaves and plays the weapon firing, the rounds leaving from the thigh before moving back into position. Is there a work around I can smash together for this?

Equiping soldiers with gauntlets doesn't give them the rend ability, basically making them unable to attack, any idea how to fix this ?

@Zarkil - To be fair, it may not have anything to do with this mod. I'll just to carry on and see if anything reveals itself as a possible cause.

Could this mod affect the sound effect for a templar gaining focus? The animation plays correctly but it does it in silence.

@lexeo007 was it the expanded console command "setselectedsoldiersclass templar because I don't think that works on faction classes. You have to use the old one. I believe it's "makefactionsoldierclass "firstname lastname" templar.

@Severus-Diomedes I believe the animation for the attitude is tied to the templar template. The easiest way to fix this I believe would be to edit one of the other templar classes with your desired skills. Been away for a while so someone else could have cracked this and I just don't know about it.

I have a question for anyone that can answer it.. i ended up deleting all my mods and even installing a fresh game, but i seem to still have the same issue even with this mod added.

My question is would ur Templar look like hes still holding a gun if u haven't actually unlocked the class? because i used the console command to change a class to Templar.

@Wolfmouse I sent you a request. I also got the Force Weapons mod and am bothered by the invisible rifle animation. Any luck on finding a solution? I thought the simple fix would be to somehow get the Templar animation on the primary force weapon, but it seems like the attitudes are tied to weapons?

Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up.

(don't remember having any issues with animations on my Psykertech units, fwiw)

The animations are working great but the visual psi effects, glowing after attack as you absorb energy and the lightning that sparks around you when you have focus, aren't showing. Is this working for others? Using rpgo with all templar abilities added. Big thanks for this mod!

How would one patch the One Handed Templar from Iridar with this :|a is it something easily done? Would be cool but I won't request it if it requires a patch from Mitz

Thank you for this mod, it works wonders for the gauntlets.

I'm also trying to use the config options to patch roland3710's Force Weapon primaries, which I figured would be an ideal "niche use" since that mod doesn't come with armory animations (i.e., it defaults to the invisible gun animation, etc). I tried this:

+PatchWeaponTemplateNames=forceLightning_CV
+PatchWeaponTemplateNames=forceLightning_MG
+PatchWeaponTemplateNames=forceLightning_BM

...and it did not work. Am I missing something?

I was looking for this for very long time. Thank you for making this.

I'm using this with LWotC+RPGO with my own templar specialization, there are only 2 main issues with this combo,

1. Drop ship animation doesn't work, I think it's because LW have it's own custom intro.

2. If a RPGO ability specialization contain custom animation or base abilities that is modified by LW then soldier get the invisible gun bug. For example LWotC "Apotheosis" custom ability.

I really hope you keep maintaining this mod.

that sounds like primary secondaries passing on changing the animations (because it sees you have two melee equiped), and then duel wield passing on changing them too (because replace_psiamps aren't valid for it's weapon check)
I am blacklisting replace_psiamps for primary secondaries in the config of this mod, so in theory that edge case shouldn't happen if this is also installed.

same root issue as Sinapus. you could try blacklisting the combat knife weapon category. I've left a message for Musashi, so he might patch the interaction at some point.

Okay, I misread the mod description because I was very tired and hadn't had much sleep and noticed the fix is for gauntlets as primary weapons, not secondaries. Ah well, I'll track this one and if I get some characters who use gauntlets and are not Templars. :steamfacepalm:

I noticed an issue where a character that equips a sword as primary and the psi melee gauntlets does the "invisible rifle" animation (though equipping a rifle or shotgun works normally) so when my fatigue-addled mind saw this mod on the list I thought it was a fix for that. I guess I'm wondering if it's possible to fix the issue when a gauntlet is equipped as a secondary weapon? (Maybe I haven't woken up fully...)

I think I ran into this issue before, going to try this and see what happens. (Have one soldier w/psi melee gauntlets as secondaries. Going to give them a sword and see what happens.)

Nice! I wonder if this also fixes the animation if you have a combat knife/melee weapon character. (I have a soldier who uses both sword ability and knife abilities)
