I too would like to design an expanse style ship, how did you accomplish the cockpit orientation trick?
Hahah, that's a reasonable point. But it isn't actually a straight ladder in the show - it's sloped (Alex Kamal walks down it facing forward) like a very steep set of stairs. A ladder wouldn't look right either, and it wouldn't fit in with the design of the command deck (in the show the stairs come down in front of the table screen). I can only work with the components that Empyrion has, and I still think metal frame stairs are the better choice.
