I think so, as long as recoil part is unchanged.

Hey, NIA recently got a lot of config updates (none about recoil). I presume this addon/tweak still works as is?

ACE can only detect vanilla recoils and overwrite them. NIARMS used a lot of those on the guns, and I hate it.
So I wrote my own recoils for those guns. This way, they will basically ignore ACE Recoil.

Thanks, that's so much better. So when you're editing these values, which ones are you changing? Are you tweaking values that exist already or are you adding new ones that ACE will detect and use instead of vanilla?

I've added the tweak for MG3. Give it a try.
Side note: NIARMS appears to have used Zafir(Negev) recoil on its MG3 and MG42. Of course, ACE Recoil completely butchered that.

Thanks. Chuck a 4x optic like an elcan or an acog or something on to see what I mean.

For most of the time I used those MGs to spray down targets and didn't pay much attention to their accuracy. Will take a closer look and see if they need tweaking.

Hey mate, really helpful mod. Was wondering if you could take a look at the MG3 and MG42 guns? Even on a bipod the recoil is ridiculous. Tried to work it out myself but couldn't quite.

I have added the M60 series. The visual and horizontal recoils have been reduced.
Atlas1205  [author] Apr 1, 2021 @ 9:21am
Hmm? Strange, it already has barely any horizontal recoil. I think the problem is the visual recoil - the gun shakes violently in full-auto fire, but there doesn't seem to be much muzzle rise.
Atlas1205  [author] Apr 1, 2021 @ 9:10am
Ideally I should have the M60 kick hard upwards (because 7.62) and much less horizontally . Too much horizontal recoil is just a pain in the ass.

sure, I'll take a look.

Could the M60s be done the same way as the SAWs? For such a slow firing gun the per-shot recoil feels like you're about to fall over when firing a burst over 5 rounds, even when braced or resting on its bipod
Atlas1205  [author] Apr 1, 2021 @ 12:00am
Done, SAWs should be much more easier to handle now.
Atlas1205  [author] Mar 31, 2021 @ 11:27pm
For some reason I can't open their SAW's config (every other pack works). Damn, this is annoying.

Supposedly AIs do take suppressive fire. When your bullets fly past or land near an AI, he should suffer an accuracy penalty for a few seconds. At least that's what the game is intending to do.

However, I cannot confirm or deny if this really works.
Lord-Knight Fandragon Mar 29, 2021 @ 1:56pm
I put in the recoil coefficient changer mod, that helped quite a bit.

And absolutely right it doesnt reward suppressive fire. Suppressive fire has almost no effects on the AI. WHile you poke up to try and start firing, they just doink you in the face and down you go.
Atlas1205  [author] Mar 29, 2021 @ 5:01am
Arma just doesn't reward full-auto fire. Everyone shoots in semi as if they are all snipers, which is complete and utter BS - it kills any incentives to use suppressive fire.

That said, I will look at SAWs later today and figure out the best approach to fix their recoil.
Lord-Knight Fandragon Mar 28, 2021 @ 10:24pm
The SAWs from this mod need a nice recoil reduction as well. Its unholy useless how much recoil they have, made worse by how piddly ArmA made the 5.56. Needing anywhere between 15-30 rounds(depending on RNG I guess) to down a single guy, on top of the terrible spread of LMGs ,the horrific recoil and crazy sway you get luggin the thing around....you cant even burst fire these things and have any degree of accuracy, even bipodding up only marginally helps. ArMA does not reward good trigger control.

No. But it's very easy to extract the 416 part. Just unpack the .pbo, copy & edit config.cpp and cut out the non-416 part. Then you repack it into a new pbo.

Could you make a standalone version for the 416 by any chance?
