I felt the Power Station slowed down production and became another maintenance item for every production capable ship and thus a resource sink (tax). That's the biggest disappointment for me. There were other things but not as significant.
Strategically it required players to specialize their assets and develop a pre-game attack plan - actually very cool. With a specialization, you could win or lose simply on your plan, but it wasn't a requirement. Specialization could already be done in 7.4.4. Also, if things went badly you might be able to salvage a loss with the option to pursue an alternate tactic mid-game due to resource availability. The Power Station made it difficult to pursue an alternate strategy mid-game.
You could also build an enormous and expansive fleet if you wanted. The Power Station also drew my attention away from the cinematic aspect of the gameplay (ongoing station maintenance). Sorry this was long.
You don't have to go into a huge amount of detail or anything but I'm just curious; what do you mean exactly\what are a couple of examples?
Why would you upload this when there is a newer version already on the workshop?

From the HW Remastered Collection control panel, select Mods then choose HW2 Classic. This mod should appear in the list on the left if you're subscribed. Select it in the list, then click the Select button to add this mod to the list on the right. Then Launch.
I haven't customized any of the command line arguments but you may need to for your hardware or other options supported by the HW2 classic executable.
