This is exactly the kind of thing I want to see in a DLC! Small interactive things like this for the guests to do. A beehive would be so cool too!

Hiding an exhibit box with actual animals might work too, but I haven't tested that ingame

Exactly! Any vending machine will do. Place it where the colony fungus is (the right terrarium), it will be hidden inside and guest animation will look like guests are interacting with the exhibition
