Immune to Zombie Infection

this is EXACTLY what i was looking for. Idc what goofy ahh ficitonal virus it is, if you treat yourself, take meds, and clean your wounds properly, you should be capable of recovering. Idc if its a zombie bite, a dog bite, a fucking gunshot wound, medicine is genuinely amazing in its capacity to keep a person alive long after a life threatening injury, so i think a game that seems so pressed on realism, should reflect that.
"oh no i got a lil nibble, guess i'll fucking die" thats such dumb bullshit.

Please B42
sir Evans Feb 15 @ 12:04pm
Just a quick update, player still dies from infection just does not turn into zombie for some reason.
sir Evans Feb 15 @ 10:11am
This mod is a must-have.
I'm sick and tired of dying after getting scratched by random zed, as combat in this game is so clunky.

Please consider 42 version, we will need it sometime around this year.
reignman13 Jan 31 @ 5:54pm
thank god i fcking suck at this game
Leia Stronghold Jan 31 @ 12:01pm
update for 42 please
MilaYanska Jan 25 @ 6:10am
@Imp

I’ve read all the comments but did not find this info. What is the average recovery time from the infection after you got bitten? Thanks a lot!
BumFight Jan 13 @ 1:55pm
Hope you can get this mod fixed soon.
Quilava Jan 1 @ 7:44am
Speaking of B42, im forgot this mod isnt B42 yet, so ... when B42? :cta_emo7: , and pls not until stable, cause it gonna take solid 3-5 month :sad_seagull:
JimmyAgent007 Dec 22, 2024 @ 11:56am
@Imp ah I see, I can edit the sandbox settings mid game. Getting sick but recovering is a good thing. I didnt know I could turn it off in 41 though. Neat.
Imp  [author] Dec 22, 2024 @ 10:51am
Turning off infection also disables the sickness you get via the infection, which this mod keeps, I like it as a nice balance option
Imp  [author] Dec 22, 2024 @ 10:50am
What @Quilava said

Turning infection off was also an option in build41

But you cannot do this on pre-existing saves, or the preset options, you need to create a custom sandbox game

If you read the the description, it mentions working on pre-existing saves
Quilava Dec 21, 2024 @ 11:48pm
If you play in Sandbox, u can turn off the infected, but many ppl play in Survival mode, you CANT turn it off there, even in B42

It feel less cheaty in Survival mode since u cant tweak thing to your liking and it feel like default standard difficulty of the game

Same thing apply to other game mode and challenge too, that the reason why this mod exist
JimmyAgent007 Dec 21, 2024 @ 12:22pm
@Imp I did, I am in vanilla b42 and just wanted to comment for those asking for an update that it its built in to the game now. Im not sure what point you want me to read.
Imp  [author] Dec 21, 2024 @ 10:08am
@JimmyAgent007 read the description and comments
JimmyAgent007 Dec 20, 2024 @ 7:37pm
Found a setting in the game setup that lets you eliminate the infection. So this mod might be obsolete now.
Imp  [author] Dec 20, 2024 @ 3:55pm
I made some changes, it might be working on 42 but unlikely, I was having issues uploading inside of the unstable branch of the game

There is also no clear documentation I could find about mgirating mods to build 42 unstable

Hopefully in the future when 42 comes to stable, there is more documentation and I will look at this further
Imp  [author] Dec 20, 2024 @ 3:05pm
Thanks for letting me know @tilarium, I will update the mod to add build42 support, providing they haven't changed systems related to health
tilarium Dec 20, 2024 @ 1:45pm
@Imp They changed the way mods work so that each version of the game can have it's own version of the mods. They won't show up in the mod menu unless configed right. Thankfully it's quick and easy. In the mods folder you need 2 new folders, 'common' and '42'. Then you need to copy the mod files (the media folder, mod.info and anything else needed) into the '42' folder.
terry Dec 20, 2024 @ 12:10pm
doesnt work on B42
Imp  [author] Dec 20, 2024 @ 8:55am
should be fine on build42, nothing significant has changed
godlovesugly Dec 19, 2024 @ 5:19am

tilarium Dec 1, 2024 @ 7:38am
So... don't use it then?
Darth Fentanyl Dec 1, 2024 @ 6:52am

SchaKanagem Jun 29, 2024 @ 9:20am
the bite NEVER heal
Butterscotch Apr 27, 2024 @ 7:36am
@unholymicrowave You can't just add it to a playthrough with an already infected character.
Unholymicrowave Mar 31, 2024 @ 2:13am
To be clear i was inside well fed clean and sleep was always available and i still died and became a zombie
Unholymicrowave Mar 31, 2024 @ 2:12am
I added this to save my character it did not work he died and became a zombie.
not_a_britt Mar 29, 2024 @ 9:58am
im so glad to know that its "SAPE" on multiplayer
Joy Tomaro Mar 15, 2024 @ 5:43pm
add "playerHP:setInfectionTime(-1)" after setting infection level to 0. this was the solution someone gave me for my mod and im giving it to you here so users of this mod will not experience the bug anymore
AudioElf Mar 6, 2024 @ 5:42pm
I think one of the problems with this mod is it gives so little instruction about how it works.

How long do bites take to heal from? What is the infection arc? You have design intent that should be front and center of your page, instead you insist we dig through archives of comments.

C'mon dude. You need a FAQ section so we don't have to hassle through old questions and neither would you.

I'd also like to iterate, the insti-death may be due to a mod interaction with the vanilla game, but insti-deaths DO happen with this mod enabled at a frequency often enough that people are commenting about it. As a competent modder, you need to take responsibility for that contingency and design around it.
Pain Feb 4, 2024 @ 12:55pm
if u already are queasy and turn it on does the effect dissapear?
JUSTLOL Jan 24, 2024 @ 10:35pm
Now using this mod instead of you get infected you get instant kill, some how a bite in the palm is straight up kills you
RAY_RAY Jan 7, 2024 @ 11:18am
I just lost my best run to a glitch where I couldn't move in a house full of zombies and this should really help so my thanks to the creator
Imp  [author] Jan 4, 2024 @ 4:51am
@M.S.Referee you are correct, that is intended

The aim is to not make you invincible as a character, but make you immune to dying purely from the infection, you can still die from bites etc if it is brutal and you will get sick if you get infected, but the infection cannot kill you directly

I hated having my character be bit, successfully bandage myself and get to a safe place only to know that I will die to the infection because I was bit, so I made this mod to make sure you can still recover and it's not a game over instantly
M.S.Referee Jan 1, 2024 @ 6:43am
In fact, this mod is not an 'invincible' mode, but a 'last hope'.
When you are bitten, first of all, you need to quickly apply a 'Sterilized Bandage' to prevent your health bar from rapidly decreasing. Secondly, you need to stop all other activities and behaviors, then sit or lie quietly, and sleep when you can. And during this process, dirty bandages need to be replaced frequently to prevent further death.

Conclusion: When you strictly follow the steps above, you will see the moment you are back to 'healthy'.
Why am I so sure? Because: these are all the steps that I have experienced personally. I watched the character go from 'bitten' to 'normal'.

THANK YOU IMP! I got bitten because of a stupid glitch that froze my game. This was the longest character i have ever survived with, and i thought is was all over. I was about to stop playing this game for a long time because of that glitch. I was so sad and angry until i found your mod. Bro.... thank you so much! Your mod saved my character. You are amazing and I hope you have a good Xmas and New Year!
Imp  [author] Dec 20, 2023 @ 3:29pm
@buder28 read the description and other comments

This works on existing saves, meaning you can turn it on mid-playthrough, which you cannot do normally
Eiríkr Dec 15, 2023 @ 8:39pm
I already die 2 times instakilled what is happpening?
Reid Oct 5, 2023 @ 1:29pm
It's a safe mod, but if you get bit on the neck you are dead.
Deadlyfeet Sep 15, 2023 @ 8:07pm
Best mod I have found and it actually works as opposed to other mods where they are outdated.
TheEpicHipster Aug 20, 2023 @ 10:06pm
how long does it take to heal from the bite?
Rogue Spartan Aug 13, 2023 @ 3:09pm
I installed this and activated it on an already current game. And yes, the I got bit a few times then all of a sudden I got bit one time then died.

However, I started SEVERAL fresh games and never had a problem with this mod. Love this mod I would totally suggested it to my friends.
Valognir Aug 6, 2023 @ 1:57pm
After two and a half days of my life constantly ticking down despite keeping the well-fed buff, and sleeping / resting constantly, I died anyway. Nice.
Unknown Jul 26, 2023 @ 9:09pm
Wasted two of my multi-hour characters. Thanks bro.
