I'm not going to draw this into a lengthy legalese text, but here are the facts:
1. The Mod Author doesn't work for the game Developers/Publishers (Very Important}.
2. Falls under the "Fair Usage Act" (Most Important}.
3. The "Steam Workshop" has a Disclaimer protecting Mod Authors (The Dispute would have to be filed against Steam/Valve, not the Author.
Copyright Lawsuits have been filed many times in the early days against the "FREE" Modding Community (Cities Skylines, Grand Theft Auto & Rig 'N' Roll), and none were successful.
Out of curiosity I went through a couple of these brands and in every single one they explicit ly state "confirmed and acknowledged use of logos, brand names, trademark items, copyrighted items and representation".
If any of those big wigs catch wind of this, you're looking at massive lawsuits.
If the bugs are still there, don't hesitate to report. All reports combined really helped us figuring this out in just a few days.
Further we still have the fastfood shopmodels removed but we have added back the new companies that came with Iowa.
