I have tested a mod named Barbarians Evolved (by Charsi), which includes a few different game modes, ON THIS MAP and found that they are perfectly compatible! I highly recommend Barbarians Evolved to any Civ 5 players who ever felt like the barbarians in vanilla were too weak to pose any serious threat.

NOTE: Subscribing to this mod will make it download into your MODS folder. From there, you will have to manually copy/move it into your MAPS folder before it will appear as an option when setting up a new game.
