Thanks! I like yours too. I think I'll keep the view to first person, though, for immersion's sake.
I played a little with Vcom and CF_BAI (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1415343823) and I liked the result. I think it is worth checking the two mods together, or just the CF_BAI. Your proposal is interesting.
See you later.
On a side note, I plan on using the same "spotting distance" attribute to make it so that the AI can't see as far at night without NV goggles, which could make for interesting night ambushes.
If that isn't satisfactory, I can think of a sort of half-solution. There's a way to find out if a unit is in a forest using the surfaceType [community.bistudio.com] command. If a unit is in a forest, I could lower their "spotting distance" attribute so they won't be able to see as far which would simulate their vision being blocked by foliage.
1) I don't really have any experience with Vcom, though from the mod description it sounds pretty cool. I find that I'm always having to hold the AI's hand, even for very simple things like driving from location to location. So if Vcom causes the AI to behave more intelligently, and thus, require less babysitting with complicated scripts, then I would be happy to incorporate it. I guess the first step is to test it out and see if breaks anything.
I have two doubts:
1) Can I use Vcom?
2) Tanoa has a lot of vegetation. How do you deal with AI seeing through the foliage? Do you use any mod, or difficulty setting?
IMO an in-game tutorial would be perfect! I like the game's own features for this.
See you.
Sorry, I forgot that the class I used for the player requires DLC (Contact, I think). That should be an easy fix. I hope to add a feature soon that would allow the player to pay money to change their loadout at strategic locations.
What format do you think would best serve as an explanation? A written guide? An in-game tutorial? A video with commentary?
I think it could contain explanations about "how to play", and "how the game works". I think being more attractive. A tutorial, maybe. I was a little confused.
The scenario uses DLC Contact equipment and I don't have it. Can you change that?
Keep up the great work.
See you.
