I REALLY want to like this mod and the others Gaia has made, it does feel like what a game of Vanilla+ would be compared to Vox but the stability/performance is lacking. I just had a similar issue as Asterix and this is with a fresh install. (Uninstall & reinstalled the game onto a different drive.)

I'll keep my eye out for an update, as I see it was last updated this year and especially within the last two months. So it's not like this mod is "abandoned". But there is indeed some major bugs that need to get fixed.

Old bugs coming back, it crashes on "restart game" and any "load game" after the first. That probably means something is getting corrupted.
This is a refreshed install (verify game, remove cache, mods, and moduserdata) with just the core mod running, so it's not a load order, bad leftover data, or conflict issue.

Yeah, great ideas, but just too unstable. Literally impossible to finish a game to the end without crashes and corruption of files. Uninstalling all Gaia mods.

After doing a full clean fresh install of Civ 5 and re-installing all the mods and following Gaia's instructions, the mods are all working well again. I highly recommend a fresh install of everything if you are having problems with the mods. This does work with multiplayer but you need a specific mod to make it work and to follow the instructions on the mod.

Hey there, really loved the mod a few years ago when i last played it but now that i tried to revisit it, it seems very unstable. Also why are so many other mods like "IGE" and "Really advanced setup" disabled to play it? You stated yourself that at least IGE is great for catching buggs and providing a smooth experience. Still really appriciate the work you have done here, thank you!

Immediate crash to desktop upon exiting mod menu. Yes, I cleared cache and ModUserData. No other mods enabled other than Gaia core, Sapiens, and Sapiens bug fixes.

DO NOT waste your time with this crap.

I can get the game and mod to work, but at start of game in ancient era, I can automatically build all city-state wonders at the start. Obviously this is a bug, not sure if its on this mod or Sapiens.

Fun, but VERY bugged. LOTS of crashes and then I have to delete cache folder after every crash or it crashes again on startup.

Busted still, currently not working. Unable to move your units on restart, and crashes you to main menu then refuses to let the game open past that point.

Hi there Gaia, I seem to be having trouble with my UI when I load this mod. I have followed all of the mod installation steps to a T, but for whatever reason, I'm still having an issue with the trade deal screen. Would you be able to help me resolve the issue?

I'm noting that saved games can be started once the cache has been cleared, though recently have found when re starting the is no cache. Is it auto deleting now?

I nerfed City Penalties back down from (10% to 7%) culture and (5% to 3%) tech and my games went a lot more enjoyable. Less AI tech rubberbanding that way... Seriously, I can have 10x the science and Shoshone is still somehow 3 techs behind me

updated all my gaia mods, but on saving and reloading the esc button doesn't operate and the right mouse button can't move units.

Getting an error message when I try to play England. "Unable to load texture [UnitAction45_DLC_Denmark.dds]." Also appears to still be a conflict with IGE and Advance setup (I have cleared my cache, mod folder and messed around with the load order) but your mod is worth playing without them. Keep up the good work

the spirit walkers belief option seems to be bugged, despite having it my missionaries cant cross mountains but for some reason the AI's missionaries can?

The game crashes to the desktop when trying to exit to the main menu. After that, the game no longer starts, crashes on startup. Not playable yet.

Gaia - FYI I played two games. Each game suddenly crashed at about turn 132 entering into the Renaissance era.

UPDATE: New stable version v548 is now available!

For best results, please clear your cache and start a new game . All reported bugs have been addressed. Notable changes include a complete rework of Defensive Pacts and the addition of a new Game Option, Defensive Alliances , which transforms Defensive Pacts into logical, fully connected alliances—preventing absurd situations where one ally attacks another and you're forced to betray one.

If you are using Sapiens make sure to apply the fixes patch here:

Known issue: The game may crash when using the menu in-game—this includes regenerating the map, loading a save, or exiting to the main menu. It usually works the first time, but any further menu action during the same session can cause a crash. This will be addressed in the next patch.

Important Notice: Due to major ongoing backend changes, compatibility with EUI, IGE, and Really Advanced Setup is temporarily suspended. Rest assured—full support will return once the core mod overhaul is complete.

Lately it seems like the popup for City Capture is missing, so every captured city defaults to annexation. The exception is when a city is gained in a peace deal or trade, then the menu appears and cities can be puppeted.

@george Delete your civ 5 folder in documents/my games. Also delete the one in programfiles (x86) under steam/steamapps/common. After that validate civ5's files. Don't use the mod or the submods till it gets patched after that. Its been bricking my game too and there doesn't seem to be a fix currently

hi Gaia. I followed every step thoroughly, and when i get to the point where i exit to main menu, to get back to download sapiens as well, my game crashes. and when i try to re-launch the game, it crashes exactly when the Loading screen shows..right about when the music starts playing in the game. so to make the game work again, i gotta clear cache again and then i have to start all over and its just spinning in a circle and i can't play...any suggestions?

@CAK6155: We haven't had any other reports of this issue, but happy to help troubleshoot. Before that, please take some screenshots and make sure logging is enabled. If the problem is UI-related, there should be a Runtime error in your Lua.log file. Also, if you're using Sapiens, make sure you have the required patch installed:

Hey I followed the instructions for the install, started a game with the core mod and sapiens. The game runs fine, but the some UI stuff is blank when i scroll over it, the tech tree is messed up and i can't make deals with the AI. Has anyone else had this issue and maybe know a fix?

Thank you, kcblacksmith. It turns out that the advanced setup mod has been added to the block-list in the core mods config file.

I followed the steps to install it, but everytime i go to the main menu afterwards or exit the game then turn it on again, it crashes on boot..

Do i really have to remove cache, remove mod data, each time i want to start a save?

JMB = I currently play using advanced setup mod. I suggest you do a complete reinstall using gaia's posted directions. Also I came across a buried post that says you need to install the advanced setup mod FIRST before ANY other mod. On a fresh install I load the advanced setup first...then start a game...exit...then load Gaia Core + fix...start a game...exit...then load any other working mod . Hope this helps you.

Building_YieldFromInternalTREnd seems to not be working, and the building in Sapiens that used it (I think?) doesn't have it anymore. Does that mean it's intentional?

I'm having a situation where my capital city has a base income reduction of -60 due to specialists.
I'm in the early modern era, capital size is 77, researching scientific revolution, Huge Marathon, turn 1167, JAN 1390 AD. Specialists in capital: 4 Writers, 3 Engineers, 2 Scientists, 2 Artists, 10 Merchants, 8 Unemployed. Empire happiness is 44. It appears like the unemployed citizens are costing 10 gold each?

I apologize I was unaware that there was an issue with the EUI and that the compatibility mod was removed I hope it will soon be released in the near future as I'm not sure I can live without it but I suppose I must push through the sadness. I would say perhaps put a pinned comment about it perhaps stating that its currently not available on the main mod because I was pulling my hair out trying to understand why it wasn't working. Anyways love the mod keep up the good work :)

I know you used to have a EUI compatibility mod is part of the main mod itself now or does it not exist anymore? Cause when I load up the game it has the normal UI setup.

@Ennoch Thanks for the reply! It's just really annoying that ai civs despite having poor relations, or have warmongering status would have defense pacts. It might be the modifiers I'm using... I'll test it out real quick.

@thecheesmo Yeah, i remember something like that but i couldn't recall if it was the mod or i was playing unmodded version. It was a long time ago. But now, there are no corps. Monopolies are based on overall quantity of resources over the map and if you reach certain treashold by controling enough percentage-wise you get a benefit.

@Oxidized2+ Yes. Dunno if just nobody mentioned this before and isn't intentional but for a while this is always the case.

@Ennoch thanks. You saying that tells me that its not something on my end, which is relieving. I guess they were removed.

I can say that they were there as recently as little over a year ago. Before that they existed as far back in the mod as I remember playing. I can't remember for sure, but I think they are what led me to find this mod in the first place. They worked with the monopoly system. Each corporation needed specific monopolies in order to be founded.

Well thats too bad, but it is what is.

Can't even remember the last time corporations were still around if ever. No corporations in the mod. Monopolies are handled without them.
