1. The City States pop-ups appear to be broken in this update. I am unable to scroll down in the list of City States in order to assign a Spy to work that state and/or city. It is also not possible to make peace with a City State.
2. The city build menu is broken. After turn 235, I can no longer update the building list.

This Mod was once the coolest thing around, but I fear it has had its time,

Gaia I would love to see a post from you saying you are working on a new update. I have reached the point in my life where when I don't hear from people I fear that they are ill or dead.

I'm having major issues with the gaia core mod. I can't open the production screen or produce anything, locking the game at turn 1. I was told the UI might be the issue, so I switched to the non-UI version. But that broke the top stat bar, even in the vanilla interface. I've used this mod before and it worked fine, even in version 600. The only change since then is using the Vox Populi installer. Since then, I’ve cleared the cache, MODS, and ModUserData folders. I also found and deleted the CityView Lua file to troubleshoot, but that only made the production UI break completely. I’m stuck now — I’ve done all the basic cleanup, but the problem persists. I'm not tech-savvy enough to go deeper into code or file structures without guidance. If someone can give me step-by-step help, I can follow it, but figuring it out alone isn’t working

@Party Mcfly: That is an ongoing issue with GAIA version 538 onwards.

Frankly, I'm surprised you even got there as 542 is the most stable of all (You can actually restart//reroll the game atleast thrice before it CTDs).

This usually happens with memory problems (playing with HUGE map and atleast turn 150+) and AI unit movement from my encounters with this.

I'd recommend removing the Modded Civilizations and other misc for now... Although, im not really sure as I was able to get to Quick Speed turn 250 late game with ALL sapiens modlist (including future worlds)

I have a CtD when trying to load my save game. Loading an older autosave works, but a few turns later, the game crashes again.

Mods used:
- Gaia's Core Mod (v 542)
- Sapiens (v 538)
- Sapiens Fixes (v 542)
- EUI Compatibility (v 542)
- Sapiens Civilization Pack (v 542)
- InfoAddict (v 22)
- Wharves for Sapiens (v 4)

Anyone has the same problem?

Anyone know how to get IGE working with either of the two older versions that have been posted?

I tried cutting out the blocker to get it loaded, but if I have sapiens enabled IGE fails to start in game with an error referencing the InfoTooltipInclude.lua file line 265 in Gaia's Core mod.

@Dschissl Thank you! I think there were problems with the icons due to the conflict between gaia-core and eui, I turned it off and cleared the game cache and everything became fine, the game settings are relatively high.

UPDATE: In a small civ-session of around 16 hours we lowered the graphic-settings to medium and this solved the problem. No more weird looking visual bugs with icons and shit. Just 16 hours of sapiens civ5, pure joy and fun!

I made a thread in the civfanatics-forum, where you can find all the mods we are playing with. I really hope it'll work for all of you guys, too.

If it IS working, i would like to be remembered in any way, shape or form as the guy who brought back sapiens to life :-)
This would be my contribution to this awesome modpack and to gaia of course, that made the effort with all this amazing content

Hi all, I am also a fan of Gaia's mods and miss so much the new updates. I do have Core 533, Sapiens 533 and Tile Conquest 531 in fully working state. Would be happy to be added to the friend list for further discussion of mods. Also I know there was big discord group, but I lost my account and for some reason there is no info how to join it.

With all that said, pls tell me what would be the best and/or savest way to make the folders available for you? I wouldn’t like to share some link here that’ll maybe corrupted in a few days. I had that happened a few weeks ago. Some user in a steam-thread posted a link for a solution of some kind and if u clicked the link you were redirected to a weird looking porn-site. I don’t want that shit here!
I want a save way to share the old versions of this mod to all of you guys without getting it corrupted by some internet trolls. Any suggestions?

So i played a hotseat-testgame with a friend of mine on the giant earth map from the YNAEMP-Mod for about 180 turns. And i have to say, it works!
We even activated several (around 20 i guess) other mods with version 538 i found in my folder!
The only thing thats missing is EUI. So for those of you (myself included) that enjoyed EUI, that'll not be working anymore, but despite that, all other features and mechanics that made this mod so great are working! As the game progresses though there are some visual bugs. Unti icons and the notification icons and even sometimes the terrain uses weird looking pics from the game content. U can still hover over and get the info though... bit annoying but it works and thats what matters, right?

But to all fairness. You never know what is happening in someone's life. Maybe there was an accident or a dramatic life event. You never know. That all said, in my mod-folder i found the version 538 of sapiens, the version 548 of the CoreMod and the version 548 of sapiens_fixes. Its dated back to may the 5th in 2025. But i can remember that were also issues while playing this version, especially combined with the EUI-Mod from the Civ-fanatics-forum. I don't know how it'll work without EUI-Mod. I guess i never tested it. If this can help to bring this awesome mod back to a playable state and also bring back this awesome content with its joy to all the civ-lovers, like i am, then this will be my contribution to a timeless game!

i'm reading all this posts here for a long time and i feel every one of you, because this mod was by far the best content update for Civ5 since, i don't know, Brave New World, at least for me. It added so much cool new stuff along with the possibility to play it on very large maps like the one in the "YNAEMP-Mod", which i did. I mean, it took me hundreds of hours to get the victory and i even had to ask Gaia for a specific mod (in the correct version of course), that, for whatever reason, disappeared in my modlist. They were uploading the mod into their list again and it worked!!
I think every one of you can feel my joy and the relief i felt for playing this game even further that i've been playing for hundreds of hours to bring it to an end!
It makes me feel really sad to see no more activity from Gaia since such a really long time.

I really appreciate all the work Gaia puts into their mods, but it would be really good to just even get an acknowledgement of "hey, i know there's a lot of broken stuff at the moment, I know about it and am working on it when I can".

It would go such a long way.

The mod is good, and the developer goes through to much garbage. That said, I freely admit this current version is buggy with city states and combat. If anyone has the ID for V 590-599, I'd appreciate it. Thank you

FYI - Gaia was "Last Online 1086 days ago". I am not holding my breath. Is anyone here have the skills to examine the current code in this mod and attempt a fix?

Two more issues I didn't see 🅰𝕍𝔾𝕍𝕊𝕋 WARD mention:
1. Manual population allocation did not work (I think that entire right bar on the city management screen was dysfunctional)
2. There was a turn where the game crashed and there was nothing I could do to stop it from crashing on that specific turn.
(i won't pretend to be related in any way to coding but lua.log had a runtime error from CORE\Utils\DataCache\GameInfoCache.lua:224: attempt to call global 'setmetatable' (a nil value)) -- related to No. 2

I was also playing with future worlds + compatibility so that may explain why I haven't seen many people mention that last bug

A minor fix to make it more playable:
Reloading the save lets you make peace with city-states, or you can trade for peace with them from another civ.

🅰𝕍𝔾𝕍𝕊𝕋 WARD made a pretty good list of all the bugs. I don't think he included this but you can't enable Tech Trading or World Map trading anymore, and some modded civs aren't working

This is my favorite mod for Civ V. PLEASE come back and just make it work!

I can't choose production with this version. I can't click on "choose production" or on the production queue in the city screen. Needless to say, it's completely unplayable. I've tried to start a new game with only this mod (after clearing cache etc) but still the same. Any ideas?

hopefully we may see an update at the end of this month. there are so many new features added in the modpack, it is just unfortunate that we can't explore all of them as of now.
