Hi tombyrne. Yes I have just read about the heatwave. Great you enjoyed the cooler conditions ha ha.
tombyrne Jul 18, 2021 @ 12:32pm
Nice 60s run with plenty of snow, makes a change from our current heatwave.

I have for a long time tried to figure out what I could use to indicate a single sleeper, and I found a white post for which I could change the dimensions. White of course is OK on a frosty morning. It worked a treat. I really enjoyed creating the sleeper replacement work.
You have added weight to my successful idea to have 2 minutes time to look around at the start (as long as you have something to look at!). Thank you david.angus1977. I am doing it now with all my scenarios - until I think of a different idea - like having it at the end ha ha!! My new Bessemer scenarios have it included. It is popular. Cheers.

Thanks, NS, I DID enjoy the run, very much so! I was pleased to see all the interesting activity at Relly Mill Junction at the start --- brilliant, and very well done! And thanks for giving us time to take it all in. I specially liked the sleeper replacement work, with all the excellent little details. Thanks for all your work in setting this up. It was a pleasant, if highly atmospheric, journey to Bishop Auckland. Regards, David.

Thanks Rammy. Good fun creating 60s scenes. 1963 was amazing. I was in Bristol then, at the start of the 1:300 out of what is now Bristol Parkway, but was a goods yard. 9Fs blasting their way up.

I Also Remember the 60s Snow / Fog and Mucky Steam Engines Great .A Nice Scenario with the Snow and a very Busy Scene at the Start. Thank You.

Aha someone who remembers the 60s. Thanks chris. I have left a message for you, so you can run the other scenario.

An interesting and enjoyable run thank you. I am a Yorkshireman so quite at home in all the snow - makes the run more interesting and reminds me of the 1960s. Thanks.

Hi pjohnandlyns. No problem giving me info. There are a lot of issues on this route, but I did not know this one, so thank you. I will send a list of them to DTG soon - and will include this one. Cheers.

Another smooth run - speeding only once this time... PLENTY of action all along the route, and Relly Mill was nicely busy with traffic. Enough time to roam around before setting off.. Nice! I think the workers were on tea break though. Thanks Not.Silent.

Nicely done again, all worked OK.
A bit of info; for you (apologies if you already know).

If you're doing another on this stretch of track but in the opposite direction, at the northern end of Brandon Colliery Platform 2, there is a signal that shows on the HUD line profile and on the 2 D map but is NOT actually visible. It's BURIED in the bridge support stonework so you get get a stop signal and not see it depending on traffic ahead.

I did flag if up many moons ago but noting was done.
