Hi Mr Garfield. The boat i based this on does not have lifeboats instead it has hydrostatic self inflating liferafts. I didnt add lifeboats because the ship was starting to lag with all the logic so i just created some decorative liferafts instead which allows the ship to be used in MP without it laggy too much. Thanks.

were are the lifeboats?

not all ships in this game have to sink or catch fire meredith, sorry to upset you. If you got some to build you a ship in real life and they said they designed it to sink, you would probably ask for your money back. Me personally I don't get what the appeal is to sink and destroy things in this game.

well poop

meredith this ship is not designed to sink or catch fire. The engines are all protected against overheating. Thanks
Nov 16, 2020 @ 6:40am
so theres no way to catch this thing on fire the way i do that is turn off the cooling system the last tim i turn of the cooling pumps the engines never overheated

In real life this ship would probably have an emergency tiller so that if you power did go out, the crew could steer the ship. There was simply not enough room to add this into this ship.

The generator is required for the steering to work. Without the generator on there is no power to the rudder. There are 2 generators on this ship. The generator on the top deck is an emergency generator which should only be used in an emergency because It only has a small fuel tank and limited power. The main generator in the engine room should be used for normal running. When arriving at a dock that has shore power, such as the survival 404 server ferry terminal, you can connect the shore power up and switch off the generator. Hope this clears up how it works. Sadly version 1 of stormworks has affected quite a lot of things on this ship but it still works perfectly fine.

All the best

nope. it was just the generator, activate the gen
Nov 16, 2020 @ 5:31am

I think you will find with most ships if you turn off the cooling valves it will set on fire. However this ship does have overheat protection so you really shouldn't able to overheat the engine. I have tested this and I have never had an engine fire before. There is a fire pump on the fore deck which can be used to power the fire hose on the top deck midships.

Well uh, you can sink it... sort of.
I accidently turned off the coolant valves while turning on pumps and stuff... the engine exploded and 15 minutes later 80% of the ship was on fire.

I thought I recognised your name railroad preserver. Well done for those fantastic ships that you build with your team of builders.

Hello Railroad Preserver. It doesn't have a sink function on it sorry. All of the ships interior bulkhead compartments have working drains which drain water into the bilge slake, in which it is then pumped into the bilge tank by opening the suction valves and turning on the bilge pump. This means that you could sink the ship by leaving all the doors open in heavy weather, and avoid using the bilge system to pump out water. The only parts of the ship that do not drain water into the bilge slake are the 2 staircases which have separate bilge pumps to simply discharge the water straight out of the side of the ship. Hope this helps thank you.

but does it sink, that's the age old question ?

sorry and then turn on the main breaker to connect the generator to the circuit breaker
Fullahead  [author]
Sep 19, 2020 @ 12:29pm
hi stalintheblyat the electric rudder is connected to the wheelhouse equipment circuit breaker which is closed by default meaning you only need to start the main generator (the small engine in the middle of the engine room at the back) to power the rudder thank you.
Sep 19, 2020 @ 12:02pm
How do you give power to the rudder?

Cinatitsmr the beeping sounds are all alarms warning you of important problems, such as a high bilge level, a low depth reading on the echosounder, or engine overheat. All these alarms can be silenced but you shouldn't be getting any alarms at all really.
Sep 19, 2020 @ 9:07am
No she's running fine now! I managed to use it on a mission and she fitted all my needs.
Sep 19, 2020 @ 8:43am
is there a way to overheat the engine on purpose it seems with all the cooling stuff off it still cant overheat
Sep 18, 2020 @ 7:00pm
this beeping sound is annoying

Hello GW Villager thank you for your comment I would love to see your ship sometime thank you. Hopefully your not getting issues with the cooling since the new update as I had to fix it to suit the new update?
Sep 18, 2020 @ 9:19am
Lovely ship! I was thinking of making the Tern but guess I've been beaten to it. I'm glad that there are more Windermere ships out there, I made one myself if you remember
