Lost the files for this so a new upload was required.
It works with Knight Manager and allows you to add trait via a decision now.
Any chance you're going to tinker with it, please?
I will update this tonight / tomorrow morning, until then you can play your save with/without it while you wait.
The current iteration of this mod makes the Gallant Tree's 'King's Guard' pretty underwhelming. Even if I have 15 slots for my knights, a lot of the time only 3~4 people are eligible for knighthood. Could you make it so that the marshal could train prowess of people who are not already knights? I mean, it makes sense right? The trainer is there to train inadequate people into competency, not to train 30 prowess blademasters into doing better. Maybe he could train all the children in court as well.
Enjoying the mod, gr8 work.
That wouldn't be hard to add but I just don't have the time to spend on it. If you would like to help out and type up the decision events I can add them here. Otherwise, it will be a while until I loop back to this to add anything. I have other ongoing projects/work/school that take a majority of my time.
@Revelation
No dice, still couldn't get rulers to be knights. I REALLY want to figure it out. But so far I have had zero luck. It is a requirement for my next project so hopefully I will figure it out soon.
I didn't see the 00_relation_triggers though, I will play with that thanks !!
# 10 - Knights
any_knight = {
NOT = { is_in_list = $LISTNAME$ }
count = all
add_to_temporary_list = $LISTNAME$
}
can_be_knight = {
can_be_knight_trigger = { ARMY_OWNER = root.court_owner }
}
@Magic and Horror, thanks for the kind words! (I also uploading this to Paradox under the same name)
Could you upload it to Paradox, so it can be put in Playsets through the launcher?
Thanks for the contribution to the community.
I have always wanted to use player character prowess,
but it seemed that player character cannot fight like other knights
If you know how to use the console and it doesn't show the trait, unsubscribe and resubscribe, steam has been iffy about auto updating downloaded mods for CK3. If you don't know how to use the console, there are plenty of resources online.
As for the hook idea and opinion modifiers I like that but my time is limited and I am focusing on other projects. If I get a spark of motivation I may look into adding that.
@Violen,
Haha, I'll put that back in, didn't realize I removed it.
I'm so guilty of this LOL
Also, as Minos said use battlefield safety for stuff related to surviving combat, its pairs well with this.
@EyeRuvDumprings,
There is always a catch, everything must be perfectly balanced. If you don't want the AI to kill off their rulers with low prowess than you cannot do the same with your sons. Try keeping it in your pants you filthy pagan.
That being said, if you convert to a proper reformed faith, and stop all the annoying raiding of civilized lands, I will consider making a console addable trait to accomplish this.
Did you try the Mod "Battlefield Safety" yet?
It drastically reduces this Stuff and you can even go inside the Mod itself and lower just the 2-3 injury Numbers.
Before it, I had Tons of crippled and dead Nobles everywhere.
Many interesting Characters just vanished and shattered their Holdings, leading to weaker Realms.
If Nobles just die in this Game too easily, it creates Ton of Problems and adds Tons of Chaos.
Not problematic if you like Chaos, but it makes it way easier for the Player to paint the Map.
So the Ai fills up with at least 9 Prowess Knights automatically; interesting and good enough to know.
The real issue IMO is that too few nobles are getting trained for war.
< 8 is poor
9 is considered average.
I feel like in my playthroughs I had knights with 9 prowess fairly easily. If you search for knights the min you can get is 12~ prowess.
wouldnt it be better to put it on 5 or 6 ?
I had a Ton of Knights which i couldnt even use, cause most have at least 4
Duestere, Paradox will most likely address this soon and my time is limited so I would rather not spend more time on this since it works for my intended purpose and goals for it. You are more than welcome to expand on this and make it a decision, I could help point you in the right direction if you like.
I wish there was also some quick way to prevent councilors from participating in battles like a decision or something.
