Description


What this mod does
This adds a prowess check/minimum for knights.

-To be a knight you must have 9 or more prowess. This affects the AI and the player.

-Can force any NPC to be a knight by using right-click interaction menu. Warning: this can be done to any NPC so if you abuse this it's on you.

-If you wish to use the console instead you can add trait "vel_force_knight"

-This works with Knight Manager https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2293272317&searchtext=knight

-This cannot be used to make your ruler a knight. I still haven't figured that out. =(

I disabled it when tours and tourney patched dropped cause it made the game crashed when I raise an army probably causing crash from the knights.
After you replied, I enabled it again to test it and it cause my game crashed....lol. After I disabled it, played again and raised an army no issue. But thank you for making the mod and contributing it especially in the early days of the launch. Have a yennefer :yennefer::adulterer:

It should still work actually.
Looking at the code I did. I did it in a way that wouldn't cause much conflict with the game.

Looks like nothing changed in the 00_rules.txt file that would break this.

Within my mod the main file I changed was:

common\scripted_rules\00_vel_rules.txt

The latest 00_rules doesn't change in a way that my change would conflict.

I suspect there won't be any issues running this still. I can try to test later with 1.9 but I don't see anything that needs an update. I've lost the original file so I couldn't update this if I wanted to though.

yeah i liked this mod and it worked without issue and i dont know if the tours and tourney 1.9 patch wont cause issue. cause it prevents the AI sending their kids or any character with 2 prowess just to face 20 prowess knight just to die. the knights manager thing doesnt prevent the AI from sending a 2 prowess knights since "prevent bad fighters" with low prowess is allowed in default.
But thank you for making this mod early in the game launch and been using it since then :crusader_helmet:

I honestly doubt that this works at all still.
I'd recommend Knight Manager which looks like it had a patch for 1.9 in the comment history.
If not then it wouldn't be hard to find the lines I changed in this mod and just replicate them for 1.9.

does this mod still works in tours and tourney patch or not anymore? kinda useful especially the AI just let a below 6 prowess to be a knight

After some testing I figured out the problem. It's the parentheses around the link that make it seem shady to steam's link detection system.and steam no longer detects it as safe, which is really weird.

I'm quite serious. Steam litterally says: "http://(https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2293272317&searchtext=knight) has been flagged as being potentially malicious. For your safety, Steam will not open this URL in your web browser. The site could contain malicious content or be known for stealing user credentials." after clicking on the link.

I don't doubt what you say about the changes you made btw. I just thought I should point that out

@Stuff LOL! I am going to call BS on that man. This literally changes a couple .txt files and would be impossible to cause any risk to a PC.

Either way, I have no plans to update this further. The game updates more often then I care to mod. Again, anyone is welcome to keep this project updated. Just copy my code and re-export it into a mod is all it takes. You have my permissions to do that.
