Keep in mind any proto/Indo-Language has been lost aside from the remains survived by latin and other later languages As Beron (Latin - Bera) so with the king's old english Bera becomes Bear.

The Pre-proto-Germanic people being a powerful and surprisingly advanced dispersion of tribal barbarians themselves, (Who mastered steel which impressed the romans during the invasion of their territories, this steel was finer than the folded born during Japan's feudal era.)
The closest that the proto-germanic has to barbarian king would be Kuningaz Beron
Kuningaz roughly meaning Tribal father and beron as in the bear (Literal translation meaning the brown one.) a befitting translation considering that the bear was among one of the few things they would not charge with a sword unless they had no choice. so, Kuningaz Beron Can mean the bear father, or powerful tribal father.

More suggestions: [MAYBE] use gold to buy units from encampments, (I'm not sure how

barbarians can utilize culture in this case but that's up to you), (Unsure if and how barbarians will

have to pay unit maintenance but that's also up to you), [MAYBE] gain more gold from pillaging

improvement tiles and cities by civs and city-states but you do not earn a fixed income from your

encampments or earn a reduced income from encampments

*These are just features that I would like to see in this mod to make it a more 'barbarian' experience.*

I love this mod but I would like to suggest the following improvements: make the barbarians

unable to actually own any cities (instead captured cities, including capitals, will automatically be

razed), (once a city finishes razing) you earn gold and culture, start off settlers that create

encampments instead of cities, start off with multiple settlers and military units for early

expansion, train military units in the encampments, have captured (rival) encampments join your

side (the whole encampment, not just the unit guarding it), encampments would have Training

Grounds built into them, your encampments should also be able to produce higher tier units once

civilizations begin advancing eras or have some mechanism for barbarians to have more

scientifically advanced units, ability to ransom captured workers for gold

*These are just features that I would like to see in this mod to make it a more 'barbarian' experience.*

um, when i select the barbarian king when setting up a game, the setup screen turns invisible, leaving only the menu background...

prehaps you should instead of makeing them a civ make it so they will take over city states when they do that they lose there easy to kill because there barbarins, that not only would make it harder it would make people want to take them down

Maybe make them a little more unique? The Barbarians in Civ V are "civilization-hating," and rely primarily on their cockroach-like resiliency to continue existing. Maybe they have really cheap settlers and cities which regularly spawn a random unit from any era that the majority of other civs have reached, but their cities--with the exception of the capital--are extremely easy to raze, cannot be conquered, and can't build improvements? That would force you to rely on raiding other civs for a steady income and discourage reliance on trade or culture.

That sounds really difficult to code, but I thought it sounded cool enough to share.

So I'm a little disappointed.. was really excited til I started playing. I would've thought the civ would've been barbarian colored, and that the gothic warrior would look like a barbarian. Side note, "distance" is spelled wrong for description of Frankish Archer, and the picture for the leader is glitched out in initial loading.

We are both kinda new at modding. I was way more new them him its why I contacted him for help on this mod. I had a rough outline for the mod and some ideas and I gave what I had for him to fix. It runs on G&K, just have to go into the 'Advanced Settings" when starting a game and select the civilization there and it will run. If you try to just start a game without using advanced settings then selecting the civilization there it will just turn into a white screen. In a nutshell use advanced settings and then select the Barbarian Civilization and it should work.

Make it so cities become encampments, you can interact with other barbarians (like city-states, basically), and the only victory this civ can achieve is domination.

It's Proto Germanic for King. Proto Germanic is the language that English, German, all the Scandinavian Languages, and Dutch descend from.

My suggestion for unique units: Galley instead of trireme, Brute instead of warrior. Plus, brutes can build Encampments.

Hey there! I started up a game with your mod and I really like the ideas and units behind it! Only thing that doesn't seem to be working are the city screens...Sometimes I can't change the citizen management and it changes the food and gold output randomly (sometimes within the same turn) My capitol made 13 food, when I clicked on it again in the same turn it told me the city is starving, even though I didn't change anything...Hope you can fix that/find out where the problem lies?
