Glad to hear that the mod has been implemented into the base/main version of the game. This is no small tribute to the Creator.
May Randy be kind to you.
My point was that it wasn't clear why the mod isn't compatible for 1.3. Not until you just updated the description after 7 pages of discussion about it.
But it's updated now. So setting aside the poor reading comprehension and non-sequitur response, I think we're done here.
"WARNING: This mod is now obsolete and has been included in the main game."
Reading the description helps immensely
How does that person tell the difference between these two scenarios:
1) The mod author just hasn't gotten around to updating the mod for "1.3" (so maybe prompt the mod author for an update in the comments)
2) The mod doesn't even need a "1.3" version, because it's content was integrated into the base game (so no prompting necessary)
They can't tell the difference. Not without browsing through the comment section, which isn't an ideal place for information to be stored, hence why you include the FAQ section.
That was the point of people saying that info should probably be in the description. You'd get less people asking you to update the mod, because they wouldn't have to wonder why the last version was back in "1.2".
But I guess answering the same question over and over again in the comment section with increasing passive aggression gets the job done as well.
Whatever you do, don't report any errors to any modders if you're running mods not compatible with 1.3. Every time I see such errors reported, I close the case by saying 'Don't report issues when you're running outdated mods'.
Unless you will say that people disregard error too as ‘it might work’, in which case I lose all hope
If you don't want to follow suit and make it easier for the majority of the playerbase that's completely up to you of course, but don't attempt to shift blame away from your own actions when people ask for clarification.
You are a smart person, you understand the same thought processes that I described above. You just don't agree with it, so you tell everyone that the way you have chosen to "inform" us that the mod should not be used with 1.3 is the correct way to do so.
'please indicate to others that this mod is not compatible with 1.3'
This mod literally doesn't have a 1.3 version in 'compatible versions' section.
The description does state the mod is compatible with 1.2 version of the game. Why did you assume it's compatible with 1.3?
Do you also assume it's compatible with console edition? With Terraria? Do I need to list out all the things that it doesn't work with?
I'm done here. Don't call me toxic if you're the essence of toxicity.
You're right I'm stubborn, that's where I draw the line. I won't update description with every new rimword version simply because some people think 'it might still work'.
YOU. ARE. TOXIC.
The list of versions this mod works with is listed right under the mod image on the right. It’s a feature supported by steam. I’m sorry, I’m tip toeing around saying it, but if someone can’t read it, they’re either blind or ignorant.
And if someone read it and still decided to add it to their mod, despite having newer version than the ones we support… well, that’s on them too
Can you please make it easier on the majority of the playerbase and indicate that this mod is redundant for the latest version of the game?
