This seems to work relatively fine in 1.5 but ran error checker and this was one of the ones that came up
Noisy Koi Apr 11, 2024 @ 10:43pm
any plans to update this or is it going to be abandoned? if its getting abandoned I wouldn't mind maintaining it

Is there a toggle for the "feature" of 'mass 1.00 for all resource crate'? I'd love a more ... balanced version of this mod.

Similarly, I feel like crated resources should probably not be placeable on shelves, and should have smaller stack limits. (Or at least, have these as options.)

what about packing drugs? Can you make it so we can pack drugs then haul it off to sell?
Noisy Koi Jan 8, 2023 @ 4:41pm
also could you add a crate for survival meals?
Noisy Koi Jan 5, 2023 @ 7:55pm
is the inventory tab for resource crates supposed to have the "notexture" sprite? (pink square)

Update:
-Now supported 1.3

Hey Jango, I'm posting a discussion about whether you'd be okay with a patch to change the weight of the resource crates.

That being said, fantastic mod, thank you for creating this. I also did notice one thing: Packing Table bill name is incorrect for unpacking Heavy Fur - labeled as "Heavy Leather," but making resource crate is correctly labeled.

But I can fix that in my patch if you'd be okay with it.
Vassteel Jan 3, 2021 @ 3:41am
the packing bench isnt showing up nor can i spawn it manually

Would love to see something done for archotech resources, namely attomachinery, pictomachinery, and nanomachinery. A patch for Metals would be nice given the plethora of materials it adds (coal, tungsten, iron, etc) as well.

Anyone looking to add stone blocks I've done so here:

Amazing mod! Love every part of it!

Would also love to see stone bricks be a part of the crate mod, boulders are much too unrefined to be used like this imo.

Woudnt however want to change the chance of having a caravan pull hundreds of crates of gold to my base. Sure, its a bug, but it adds a tempting chance to raid that caravan and make a huge profit from it.

Keep it up!

I agree with what the bard of hearts said. I wish there were a setting in this mod that did not change the overall weight of the object. Maybe have one crate hold the max amount of a resource that a pawn could carry, and then set the weight of the crate to however much that is?
StealthCharm Oct 9, 2020 @ 6:08am
Would love to see stone blocks added to the list of packables would make air transport a lot easier also love the idea of supply chains using this mod! Great work! adds a little something to my gameplay and i enjoy it!
The Bard of Hearts Oct 8, 2020 @ 8:11pm
Yeah... the idea that a single pawn can basically carry a castle-worth of steel and stone on his back is kinda unrealistic. I otherwise love the idea. But stacking items into crates does NOT make them more transportable on a march... if anything... it makes it worse, cause you have not only the weight of the crate itself BUT you can't possition the goods on your body (its a box... you carry it or it smooshes you into the ground, not much else) :steamhappy:

Hey Jango, i really appreciate this mod.

I have only one gripe with it, is that traders seem to love carrying stacks of crates full of goods, like 50 crates of a resource, and while they are accordingly priced, if whoever is carrying the crates gets downed, that colony is instantly broken cause of the wealth it would add.

Any way of changing that? I noticed that the crates weight 1kg each regardless of the type or amount of goods, if its not possible to set so it would change accordingly maybe if the crates would simply be heavier, like close to max weight a pawn can carry or even if the crates themselves wouldnt stack maybe the issue would be solved.

Update
-Fix costlist on Gold from 2500 to 250
Reann Shepard Aug 11, 2020 @ 2:49pm
Hate to add to the litany of changes required for the recent update, but the comment @metasoul72 also applies to the packing of gold crates (so it costs 2500 gold rather than just 250 gold). This probably has to do with the fact recipes in-game typically use up 10x as much silver and gold to construct (e.g. steel wall requires 5 steel, silver/gold wall requires 50 silver/gold respectively). I appreciate the work you've done that allows me to keep my base and storage rooms nice and tidy

Update to 1.2
Spaghetti Aug 8, 2020 @ 8:28am
ah yes.. now i can store my 35,000 steel

Update:

- change the Costlist for the making silver crate bill to 200 from 2000,
JangoD'soul  [author] Aug 7, 2020 @ 11:04am
@metalsoul72 i'll fix that
metalsoul72 Aug 7, 2020 @ 10:01am
Mod author. I thank you for the error of the silver crate bill. The bill says that it requires 10 wood and 2000 silver. But when the bill is added, the new requirement was 20000 sliver instead, making us lose 18000 silver when unpacking them. Sarcasm included in this message. :shigure2: Other than that, most of the other bills seem to work fine. Keep up the great work and looking foward to the stone blocks crates. Marble artworks, here I come!

@Mikeal5 yes
Mikeal5 Jul 30, 2020 @ 2:21am
One thing I am surprised not to see is packaged Stone Bricks, do you plan on adding them at some point?
JangoD'soul  [author] Jul 16, 2020 @ 12:50pm
I'll look into it
Hoki Jul 16, 2020 @ 12:40pm
the one for the type 'ressource crate' when you toggle the readout in the top left to show categories.

its the sprite for the category itself that was missing. not for any specific type of of crate
JangoD'soul  [author] Jul 16, 2020 @ 12:17pm
@Hoki which one is missing?
Hoki Jul 15, 2020 @ 1:44pm
mod seems to be missing a sprite for categorized ressource readout
DranKof Jul 13, 2020 @ 1:40am
First impression: Seems like a lot of work to go back and forth.

@JangoD'soul Question: would you consider changing the recipe from having the wood as part of it to making the table fueled? I'm using Everybody Gets One to automate crating of if I have a surplus of the material in question, but this requires that there only be a single resource going into the order.

I have a local copy running with a fueled table and a fuel rate of 290.0 gets pretty close to 10 wood per pack/unpack cycle if you want to give it a spin, I'm fine tuning it right now to get it as close as possible.
JangoD'soul  [author] Jul 12, 2020 @ 7:14pm
@Syzal I know
Syzal Jul 12, 2020 @ 6:31pm
Oh yeah, fyi you left your github files in the public build
JangoD'soul  [author] Jul 12, 2020 @ 10:42am
@corinthius you can edit on the XML File using Notepad ++. For Trade value the idea of this mod is to store, transport and hide your wealth from raider my first idea was 50% at that time that was a bit high so i change it to 35%, not ideal to sell tho crate. but i'll add in some beauty

@TrahsPanda i got the idea from you but my mod is about store and hiding wealth on endgame
TrahsPanda Jul 12, 2020 @ 10:30am
Glad my mod was an inspiration for this.
corinthius Jul 12, 2020 @ 10:00am
Would be great if it was possible to edit the following settings:

* Disable 35% value drop
* Disable Mass Reduction

I would even go so far as to say that packing up resources neatly should (some may already exist):

* Add trade value (Something small like 2.5%)
* Add beauty to surrounding
* Prevent deterioration outside

@ALTAR alright i push out a update to fix this...i hope
ALTAR Jul 12, 2020 @ 7:58am
very strange, to me it says 20,000 O.o, or was it updated?
JangoD'soul  [author] Jul 12, 2020 @ 7:44am
@ALTAR 2000 to make a silver crate sir
ALTAR Jul 12, 2020 @ 7:35am
Do you need 20,000 silver to create a drawer? very exaggerated -.-
Syzal Jul 11, 2020 @ 1:42pm
Hey @zxhb, my suggestion for slow colonists is to get the out of combat movespeed mod by murmur, it's such a game changer
