I laughed when I saw this, great idea, a truly mighty civilization, lasted a week.

I feel that this mod doesn't capture the absolute, train wreck that was CHAZ.

That aside, thanks for the go-to Bad Guy Civ, that I can crush, its absolutely wonderful for that role.

To be fair, leaving aside satire, this civ has interesting mechanics.

You conquer and raze buildings to generate Great Musician points. The Machine Gun replacement unit is good on the attack and provides great benefits while garrisoned. The Commune Food Station is interesting (I assume it only applies bonuses to the capital) and will require the player to start a lot of trade caravans from the capital to everyone else. Ideally, it should be an ocean city, so you could send cargo ships to everyone you can.

So, both a war-making civ, and a culture one, while requiring that you balance that out with trade to grow the capital very tall, and work those culture guilds as early as possible.

Quick question - is it a single city civ, or can it train settlers and settle more cities?

interesting idea, though I'm pretty sure they should just be extra units for the barbarians lol. Hmm also I'm surprised they get +1 food, they should all be starving as default.

(3) UU: I have two (nitpicky) gripes with this unit. The first is that it's a ranged unit which (imho) doesn't fit the role of its real life counterparts. The second is that it has a lot of bonuses, even for a late game unit. My fix for this is to make the unit an infantry replacement that doesn't obsolete, while only keeping the police station bonus and buffing it to include the bonus from the constabulary to fit the role of self-policing.

UB: I can't nitpick anything that could use tweaking for this building. My only suggestion would be, if used with the above UA proposal, to make the building replace the caravansary.

(2) UA: I like how clever this original idea is because I've never seen a UA based around destroying buildings, but I can't think of that many situations where it would be useful. My (uneducated) idea for a somewhat less situational UA would revolve around building growth buildings and destroying gold/spy buildings. This would let the player gain music slots with essential buildings such as aqueducts and hospitals (which also fit in with the philosophy of CHAZ,) while also having an incentive to annex captured cities long enough to delete their gold buildings for musician points before razing them. Not only would razing cities make a cultural victory easier with less culture to overwhelm, but destroying the buildings within them would add a helpful boost towards more musician culture bombs.

(1) Actual balance ideas because this is a neat idea and who the hell cares about whether CHAZ is good or bad in the context of a fictional video game

Overview: To my understanding, CHAZ is supposed to show how people can function without police/a large government/etc. There also aren't very many civilizations that gain bonuses from a hybrid domination/culture victory strategy. I've brainstormed some ideas to check both of these boxes.

Should have an special garden that gives a ton of culture, but like -50 Food or something to represent the "garden" they made for foodstuff and later on changed so they could plant weed in it. It would be awesome if it could only grow through trade, making them earn money AND food through trade routes, but disabling their capacity of growing in any other way.
