I found a solution.

CIV5Worlds.xml
<Type>WORLDSIZE_HUGE</Type>
<GridWidth>180</GridWidth>
<GridHeight>94</GridHeight>

The mod works if you manually change the two numbers.

I reached out to a long time user of the mod on steam, his feedback indicated that the mod works when using the advanced setup dialog roughly %95 of the time. im not sure if this is pertinent to the issues some people are facing but i will look into this and report back. i apologize to those who this is not working for as im having some trouble getting the bug myself but i will continue to see if there is a way to fix this problem.

Im also having issues getting this to work, tried steam and manual install, and tried several map types, pangaea, continents etc and still doesn't make the map bigger

I have tried manual install and steam download... neither seem to work for me, could I possibly be doing something wrong? For manual install,. I went to the github file, downloaded the zip folder, extracted all files, and placed the whole folder in the specified location. could I have missed something? do i need to write a script to route the correct file? I already replaced the existing files that came with the steam download...

it can appear to not be working when you start a game, to confirm if its working please install IGE and start a new game and check if the top coordinate is 179,93. if it is not then please use the github download and manual install. I'm still not sure why it only works from the steam workshop download for some people, but the manual install version has worked on every machine i have tested on

I can play YNAEM Giant Earth with 40 Civs but I can't find generic Giant Maps with 22 Civs.

Amasarac, thanks for the earlier reply that I just saw! I tried a manual install, but my maps are still only generating with 80 height. (I create a new game, immediately retire, and then count the tiles on the replay map to confirm.)

it always works for me so i'm not sure why it's not always working for others, except maybe because i used a manual installation instead of steam? Can someone who its not working for install IGE and uncover the whole map and make absolutely sure the top right tile is not coordinate 179,93?

Hi, I'm trying to use this mod but having trouble. I've subscribed to the mod and activated it on the Civ V mods screen, but when I start a game with the Huge map size, the maps still end up being 120x80. I don't know what I need to do to get it to work. Any ideas? Thank you!

Yannik, it is working. My mod doesn't make a custom name for the size it just replaces the huge map size of 120*80 with the size of 180*94

Laevatien, it is not possible to make a map larger than 180*94 as the internal tables that hold the tile information have a stack overflow

Evan, from what i'm seeing about SMAN'S mods they deal with totally different tables in the game and assets from Nexus. i see no reason they should cause a conflict.

Thanks for this! I'm not sure my PC will cope, but I'll certainly give it a try. One of the best bits on this game for a solo player is the exploration part... bigger maps, more to explore. What's not to like! :)

I'm looking into adding promotions to units now, work on this mod is slow since there isn't a lot of good information available other than the table structures. I will try to update sometime this week once i get that all figured out. If anyone has any other suggestions for features that could benefit this mod feel free to let me know.

It might also be a good idea to have that buff be a sort of blanket effect (perhaps a promotion granted to all units?), that way it is compatible with unit mods. :D

This mod is great for 4-ish human players with ai civs. And without a dedicated server it may slow down your game at a a higher turn count. This is a computer stress test in some ways (without the proper pc setups). It leaves more for computation, for sure.

As new as this mod is, I suggest critical response instead of shitting on the creator. Help the dude make it better instead of just crying you can't make it work. Did you not see the timestamps?

Also, we're part of the same community, why are you shitting on one of our own?

This works fine, just need everyone that you're playing with to have it installed. That's a given with any game that doesn't prompt you to download the mods that you intend to play with when playing multiplayer. Even in play testing others were not optimistic, but when we spent the first few turns pushing to the worlds edge top to bottom, be realized it worked every time. Larger maps built for largest setup with more room to grow. It's fantastic.

The biggest complaint I'd expect anyone would have is the island chains tbh. Any other complaints would leave me to believe the hosts didn't realize the other players needed this mod too, or didn't test to check.

if you want support for more than 12 civs, use advanced setup to add up to 22. if you want an unreasonable amount of civs use the mod from YnAEMP (28,34,or 43)

It works fine, as per the usual the masses are just clueless, rude, nasty fiends who can't be spoon fed enough to be satisfied. If you can't make this very simple mod work, YOU are the problem. Grats.
