Probably not, I haven't touched any of the mechanoids from biotech on.
Ayaka Jul 12 @ 12:28pm
What about the uh... newer mechanoids added in later expansions, do they have "reasonable" disassembly values?
Adara Firecaster  [author] Apr 14, 2024 @ 6:13pm
When I get a chance I'll try to update my mods. Though this one will probably only need the version number updated.
[AOCG] Petrini Apr 14, 2024 @ 2:45am
Will there be a 1.5 update?
Adara Firecaster  [author] Nov 6, 2022 @ 4:10pm
@kongkim The only thing the mod affects is the products they produce when disassembled and what is left behind when the hostile ship chunks are killed. Any mechs present in biotech but not in 1.4 without the mod won't be affected. However if those old mechs drop new items with biotech installed then this mod may overwrite that. I don't actually have biotech to check.
kongkim Nov 4, 2022 @ 1:56pm
@Adara Firecaster So just to be sure, all the new things still drop from them also?
Proxyer Nov 4, 2022 @ 12:54am
Thank you for update!
Adara Firecaster  [author] Nov 4, 2022 @ 12:24am
Updated to work with 1.4, does not change any new mech types added for Biotech
Adara Firecaster  [author] Nov 7, 2021 @ 12:03pm
@PavelKer From what I can tell, yes, IF you load this mod earlier in the load order. This mod replaces the drops and What the Hack adds to it if I read that mod's code correctly. So if this mod loads later it will overwrite the change to the drops.
PavelKer Nov 7, 2021 @ 10:37am
Hey, is this compatible with the new mechanoid drops in What the Hack?
Adara Firecaster  [author] Aug 26, 2021 @ 10:52pm
@Thundercraft That's a good idea, I have added the values. Though I could have sworn they were lower immediately post nerf. The reason I made the mod in the first place was my annoyance at getting rid of a well guarded defoliator ship and not getting any advanced components for my trouble.
Thundercraft Aug 26, 2021 @ 2:40am
I usually hate nerfs like this. But I haven't played much since 1.0 or earlier. I'm rusty and I'm not sure I understand.

If I understand correctly: The (only) difference between the old values and patch 1.1.2618 was that rewards for the things listed removed all components and plasteel - meaning that the only reward now is just... steel?

May I suggest that the description also include the post-nerf rewards (new patch 1.1.2618 values)? Just a suggestion, but it would help emphasize the significance of what the mod does.
The Bard of Hearts Jul 22, 2021 @ 10:21pm
Game on. Thanks
Adara Firecaster  [author] Jul 22, 2021 @ 10:05pm
1.3 Update is live, Added termite mechs to the drop list, the base game has them drop what a centipede does, so I kept that parity by giving it the older centipede drops.
Shar Jul 21, 2021 @ 4:00pm
+1 as well please
The Bard of Hearts Jul 20, 2021 @ 7:19pm
+1 for a 1.3 update! :steamhappy:
kongkim Jul 18, 2021 @ 8:35am
Ok that would be cool :)
Adara Firecaster  [author] Jul 18, 2021 @ 8:32am
I am unlikely to buy the expansion, but I will probably make the mod compatible if I can.
kongkim Jul 18, 2021 @ 2:33am
The ideology expansion will be out on 20/07,and the game version is 1.3 will this mod be updated for that :)? As i will be starting a new game when ideology is out.
Adara Firecaster  [author] May 27, 2021 @ 5:43pm
So far as I could tell it should still work with 1.2. The only mods that might be incompatible would be those that alter the base butchering (disassembly) drops for mechanoids.
duke dunac May 27, 2021 @ 2:55pm
Does this mod still work with 1.2? Also, any mod incompatibilities that are already known?
Enlonwhite May 23, 2021 @ 12:41am
I just use mods that allow me to make my own plasteel from resources, some chemfuel, steel and something to make it, and then increase the drops in game scenario efficiency from mech shred.

Turning all the insect meat to chemfuel usually gives me WAY more then I need in general on average, so its not that hard. Just labor.
Cadichon May 19, 2021 @ 11:03am
Thx
zebra03 Nov 8, 2020 @ 1:43am
It doesn't make sense to nerf it for people who play without royalty because it means that mechanoids are not useful to salvage
Dorsai! Aug 29, 2020 @ 9:37am
Even with the DLC I don't get why this needed to be nerfed. If anything, limiting the spawns from a mechanoid assembler was already enough to remove the exploit. Instead mechanoids as a whole just became a resource drain. Compared to regular raiders which have generally really high rewards, especially if you are into the organ harvesting business and Infestations, which at least give you jelly and food for your prisoners.

TL;DR: Thanks for this!
CatLover366 Aug 22, 2020 @ 2:43am
nice

CatLover366 Aug 16, 2020 @ 8:48pm
update*
CatLover366 Aug 16, 2020 @ 8:48pm
yeah the 1.1 harmony separation was made so that mods wouldn't break as much. All adara has to do is upsate the version number
wooaa Aug 15, 2020 @ 9:53pm
mod still works. I just tested it and took apart a centipede and got 50 steel, 10 plasteel, and 2 Component
Max jamón Aug 13, 2020 @ 7:40pm
alright thank you so much, don´t rush yourself and take your time, I appreciate it
Adara Firecaster  [author] Aug 13, 2020 @ 7:03pm
Yes, I'll get an update out soon, Hopefully all I have to do is up the version number, but I'll check.
Max jamón Aug 13, 2020 @ 6:31pm
hello adara firecaster, I hope you are having a great day, just wondering are there any plans on updating this mod?
Yolo$wagger Jul 7, 2020 @ 6:40pm
I really dislike the nerf - why should we not be rewarded for killing Mechanoids?

Good job on the mod!
CrackaJack Jul 3, 2020 @ 10:09am
i think that particular patchlog was stating something about players farming mechanoids, and i thought : so? if youre able to do that, u deserve that plasteel since that stuff would be rlly damn rare otherwise.
that change also made no sense realism wise, for obvious reasons. risk/reward and all that stuff. i mean thanks for the mod, dude.
Alapma Jun 22, 2020 @ 6:23pm
thanks you for quick answer (quick for me its no more than 1 day)
Adara Firecaster  [author] Jun 22, 2020 @ 5:46pm
@Alapma Yes, it's all patch operations so it doesn't actually change files, if you remove the mod it simply stops overwriting the data when you load the game.
Alapma Jun 22, 2020 @ 11:05am
is this save friendly?, i dont want to fuk up the mechanoid files
Adara Firecaster  [author] Jun 15, 2020 @ 4:27pm
Thanks to all for the appreciative words. It makes mods seem worth doing.
MrRober95 Jun 15, 2020 @ 11:40am
Thanks for making this mod!
Ayaka Jun 14, 2020 @ 1:38pm
Honestly this change was fucking retarded. I'm glad someone had the brain power to make a mod like this.
Wish Granter Jun 9, 2020 @ 8:36am
you are a live saver!"!!

@Baal Firenze. Actually not. Since fighting the endless spam of mech clusters in 1.1 requires you to use uncountable amount of turrets and moratar shells (since mortar accuarity is random and not actually set by pawns being able to use it) you have to at least ust 75% of all you get to counteract the loss you make.

Tynan removing all the shit just made the game impossible late game without organ harvesting to pay for unlimited amount fo componments and steel
Baal Firenze Jun 6, 2020 @ 2:40pm
Also to people complaining, don't use the mod, also it will increase wealth and you'll just get more mechanoids to balance it out, like I get drop pods now which are terrible lol
Baal Firenze Jun 6, 2020 @ 2:39pm
This is exactly what I was looking for it was like not even worth fighting them now
Adara Firecaster  [author] May 22, 2020 @ 11:11pm
I don't have the DLC, as it doesn't offer to tell me any stories I care to play through. And nerfing the base game to "fix" DLC content just didn't sit right with me.
Lanthrudar May 22, 2020 @ 10:07pm
Appreciate the revert. Seems like the mech cluster farming attempted a 'fix', but nerfed the reward for the danger of a ship drop as you mention. If the reward was too OP it should have been fixed
sometime after 1.0 went live, not later, to fix a poorly implemented DLC addition.
Adara Firecaster  [author] May 9, 2020 @ 2:49pm
You're welcome, and as this is purely xml patching, if anyone decides they're drowning in plasteel and components they can always remove the mod with no problems later.
blank May 9, 2020 @ 8:14am
Thanks for this! Was really baffled, as I just got 10 steel for a Scyther....
Adara Firecaster  [author] May 5, 2020 @ 5:38pm
If you like the nerf and feel it was needed don't use the mod. However, I feel that for my games it was not needed and too harsh, and the first time I took down a defoliator chunk and guardians after the nerf to get a pittance of steel and 1 single component for all that effort and danger, I felt cheated out of a proper prize.
Demoboca May 5, 2020 @ 6:55am
I mean, there was a reason they were nerfed though.
