Spades  [author] May 5, 2020 @ 1:34pm
@The World War II Fan I've been playing around with the idea of doing the Chinese after the Japanese
Spades  [author] May 5, 2020 @ 1:33pm
I'll try to add those buttons on the other stuff but keep in mind I try not to do unnecessary stuff like pockets and epaulettes (I added some to the British only because they often seemed to pass the straps of their webbing under them, note how they aren't present on the Americans since this practice wasn't done like at all)
Spades  [author] May 5, 2020 @ 1:30pm
@asher_sussex Alright, thanks for the info, I don't really know anyone who knows a lot about British uniforms
Swatofficerjd May 5, 2020 @ 12:58pm
Could you do China both the enemy China, and the allied China.
asher_sussex May 5, 2020 @ 12:31am
OK that's fine, but by 1945 pretty much everyone was wearing it. As you said some chose to stick with the old uniform and old stocks continued to be issued till run dry, but the later pattern was implemented in 1941 (and is often mistakenly referred to as the 1940 pattern battledress). I get what you mean about buttons being troublesome though.
asher_sussex May 5, 2020 @ 12:30am
The early pattern battledress still shows the button on the field dressing pocket as well as on the epaulettes though I guess that speaks for itself really; I don't expect you to go into ridiculous amounts of detail just to get the buttons right so just do what you can. Regardless you're the only person who's even attempted to get the British World War 2 uniform correct so I commend you for that.
asher_sussex May 5, 2020 @ 12:30am
As a side note, if you do intend to add buttons to at least the desert uniforms and so forth then perhaps consider adding the six buttons at the bottom of the Denison smock as I believe this to be a fairly iconic part of the kit.
And finally, once again, great job!
Spades  [author] May 4, 2020 @ 11:42pm
Speaking of, I think I need to add buttons to some of the hotter climate skins as they're pretty much just wearing shirts, not the battledress idk I might do that later
Spades  [author] May 4, 2020 @ 11:41pm
From what I read many troops stuck with the old battledress even after the new one was introduced (I believe it's called the 1941 or 1942 battledress but it was issued in like 1944 idk) as is usual during wars. Furthermore rigging the buttons was a pain and so I decided to use the old battledress.
asher_sussex May 4, 2020 @ 11:37pm
The buttons should be visible in all places but the fly on the late war Battledress. Do you intend to add the pockets on the trousers and blouse?
abnsklv May 4, 2020 @ 6:51am
oh ok
Spades  [author] May 4, 2020 @ 6:30am
@EfrastsZ I have not started.
Spades  [author] May 4, 2020 @ 6:29am
@overly sized toe I've been thinking of making a separate pack from both this and the American pack that contains individual units like the 1st Infantry Division, 101st Airborne Division, and of course the Desert Rats.
abnsklv May 3, 2020 @ 8:57am
@spades hows the argentine skins?
im not saying that you have to make it
im just asking if you started
Swatofficerjd May 3, 2020 @ 7:27am
Yeah, can you?
monkey May 3, 2020 @ 6:46am
Can you make Desert Rats?
Swatofficerjd May 1, 2020 @ 5:59am
