The Github repo is a rework of the Beta version, which is not publicly available outside of the Discord (Normally), so keep in mind it is currently still considered Beta. It is not yet released for good reason.
If you DO want to use the GitHub version, at least come by and tell us your opinion, bug reports and issues with it!
Simple, make them, at the mod's crafting tables.
Don't have the files handy to tell you exactly, but usually every mod that has that feature shares the same setup;
Door has two red laser-wire nodes and one blue, or was it two blue and one red?
Anyway, connect the reds to the blues between two doors and they should work. If one combo of nodes is giving you the option to go in, try the other nodes.
Keep in mind that there is still a range limitation of "your screen". Game only loads stuff that is visible. If the output door is too far off-screen then it may not work as it is not loaded.
Nope. It was planned to be on it's own planet type, but we're rethinking that one.
Race ablities are not a thing in Vanilla Starbound, and we didn't wanna bother writing yet another framework for racial abilities on top of the already existing ones.
As for Mindflayers and Shoggoths, you basically just get to pick their body design, they should function the same for the most part. Would you rather be goop or would rather be tentacles?
That is a Frackin' Feature, not a feature of this/our mod, so we can't really offer any help or advice. Good luck!
If you have "NO OTHER MODS INSTALLED", then there's your problem.
The Starbound Character Creator has a limited number of "slots" by default, and will not show modded races unless you also install a modded CC menu. (Preferably one with more slots for all your races).
If you DO have a CC mod to even see the extra slots, do let me know, wouldn't be the first Linux-only bug.
And that's cool, I love such mods.
To my knowledge, no.
Easy answer, they follow the same format as all other races, and shouldn't really be spawned in as the "Vanilla" style objects might brick your ship.
EG:
"shoggothteleporter","shoggothtechstation","shoggothcaptainschair", etc.
Variants also as; "shoggothteleporterTier0", "shoggothteleporterBroken" used when you first fix/upgrade your ship.
If you are using FU/BYOS, you likely have to ask them for proper commands/unstuck issue solutions, as adding these in may cause adverse effects, and they likely cannot be removed/broken.
That is to be expected, but we are putting in some efforts into keeping characters of this Beta even if the items/mechanics might be removed. Which is why i've added the requirement for the "safely remove techs" mod, to hopefully prevent that kind of situation.
Though i will add, "safely going back" is neigh impossible without making uncountable place-holders, i'd recommend keeping that in mind when modding your game, as this not only affects your characters, but also your universe file.
Relics and Altar... If i remember correctly those are challenges you can do for special rewards? But i do not remember their bugs and issues off the top of my head. A hint that comes to mind though is to "hold it out until you die".
The content behind such activities maybe a little bit undercooked and unfinished, beware.
Do you have a race-selection menu mod? By default, Starbound only has room for all Vanilla races, and without a mod to add more room, they wouldn't show up.
If that's not the problem, there are discussions available to post into!
The mod has a Beta branch available, where the Shogs use a large paint-brush item to paint and delete blocks differently than normal races build. I don't think it is avaialble in the normal branch, and yeah, Mucus will require special tools to remove it otherwise.
Wish i could update the mod to fix some of these on-going issues but Steam and CF haven't updated their Workshop rules yet
Definitely something happening on your end, haven't heard of that from any other user so far! Good thing we have a custom ship already made and available in the Beta.
"srm_shoggothflag" is our flag object, which is the "Shoggoth Marker".
