To be fair the Celts didn't use many bows during this time. When Vercingetorix called upon all of the archers, across all of Gaul, against Caesar, the force wasn't significant. It was more of a hunting weapon as peoples during this time generally hurled javelins.
The Welsh word for bow comes from Norse. The Celtic & eventually English association with the bow was adapted from the Vikings.
It *might* therefore actually be more accurate to depict the Germanics as the bow culture?
I think Galatia would've been complete if the devs added a late game, Celtic Thyreophoroi. It could've even been more of a infantry then a skirmisher.
They definitely need additional units, but making their faction specific units obsolete by giving them the slightly better Gual wide units kinda hurts. The other 4 or 5 are perfectly fine though.
Loading an existing save game as Galatia should let you recruit the new additions yes.
You need the Caesar in Gaul DLC.
I have yet to make a mod that adds units to the Arverni or any celtic faction besides Galatia.
