A tracheostomy tube is described as 'fenestrated' when it has a rectangular opening (window) to allow suction of secretions while remaining in situ.
So I've always thought (since that was my introduction tot he word) that 'defenestrate' would mean 'to remove the window (from) '.
and, therefore the word for throwing someone out of a window should actually be
efenestrate OR exfenestrate . ? thoughts ?
