Kek's Origins has officially re released! The mods has been moved to a new page in celebration of its return. This mod will remain up for legacy users.

UPDATE: A majority of the code has been fixed and is on track to be updated to 3.10.*. Before I release though, I want to change some things around and add some things. The return of Kek's Origins is nigh!

I have begun work on updating everything to 3.10.*

Please be patient as my spaghetti code could REALLY use some fine tuning and cleaning.

This still works, Don't know what Wancar's problem is though. Codominant Evolution and a couple of others i tested still work, no crashes so far.

hello
after the newest version 3.9.1 i find this mod cannot launch game , since my mod used some part of this mod as well. i have checked all files and find the conflict is caused by the stuff in events files,if you can come back to fix this~

Version 3.9 has been released and I've found out this mod breaks the game launch, even when it's the only mod in my playset. Must be a conflict with some of the latest changes to DLC's/Vanilla.
I don't know if you're still active on Steam. Hopefully you are and have time and interest to take a look.
If not, well, I'll miss my "Codominant Evolution" and "Natural Geneticists" empires.
Thank you for this mod, it's been a blast so far, I hope it will continue to be in the future.

Thanks Kek, My issue isn't Urgent since the rest of your mod stuff works for me but I'll have to try and figure out what the conflict is (Or resort to Irony)

Sounds like a mod conflict, I’ll double check with my code tomorrow but if I remember correctly I’m pretty sure I had to override war goals.

I'm definitely getting some issues with the Special War Goals not working correctly, such as the Mutagenic Assimilators civic not giving the Assimilation war goal on bordering empires.

Will do more testing to see if it is a mod conflict or not,

Specifically the green energy league does not work, and other civics that effect districts may not work either.

It seems like there might be a conflict between your mod and the other hive mind mod, "Forgotten Queens"

I'll try testing a little more and see if I can find out what is causing the issue.

@KKillroyV2 Are you running any other mods by chance? The mutagenic assimilator civic overwrites the citizenship_assimilation file in species rights, so if any other mod happens to use that then it's not compatible, though I can see about making a patch.

So I made an empire using Mutagenic Assimilators and was unable to assimilate any additional captured pops/primitives as I didn't start with the correct techs,

Is this normal for this starting Civic? Am I supposed to play like a regular empire then unlock Assimilation through technology?

All good! Yeah I'm getting to it, I've had a lotta stuff happen in my personal life recently and haven't had time to update it quite just yet. Might still work with the current version though, not sure yet.

@dougdapug Do you have another mod that overwrites the citizenship_assimilation.txt? Are you subscribed to another mod that gives a civic that allows for assimilation? Cus more than likely, there’s an incompatibility that I’ll need to make a patch for.

Hey, I was playing the Secluded Paradise origin and I finally found another empire after a very long time and joined the galactic community. At first I thought they were just friendly but then I looked at the diplomacy modifiers, and almost every empire except for one hive mind (other hive minds still had this modifier) had seemed to gain a positive "distance" value in the several billions.

Every empire that was inferior to me accepted my request to make them a protectorate or vassal, and they all continually spammed me with requests for treatys.

It was fun, but very obviously game breaking.

One more piece of information: when updating to 2.8.1 [stellaris_test], I refreshed mod installs using "Manage All Mods" and then "Reload Installed Mods".

Then 2.8.1 worked, so maybe it was 2.8.1, or maybe there was some bad mod metadata cached on my side which was breaking things -- like not picking up the fix you made until I force-refreshed the installs.

Anyway, I'm going to keep testing, but for now it seems like thinks work.

I just tried with 2.8.1 (rather than 2.8.0) and now the origin is working perfectly.

That’s weird, I’m seeing the deposits and the modifier on the colony. I’ll look into it further tonight.

I'm now seeing regular deposits, but on the colony not the special Rare Planet Type deposit, and not the special planet modifier on the colony either.

I've got Kek's Origins below Planetary Diversity, and nothing else in that mod set.

Are you seeing the special planetary deposits on the colony when you do World Shaper?

Anything else I could do to help debug this?


PS - one idea might be to make the colony a regular, non-Rare planet type, since every Rare planet habitability preference has several other +80% planet types. Then you could just ignore the special modifiers.

Just tried the World Shapers origin with no other mods (just PD and KEK). Superhabitable and Eyeball (both Rare world types) generated a colony of the correct type, with regular deposits, but without the special deposit for the Rare planet type, and without the PD planet modifier.

So far I only tried Geothermal World (one of the Rare planetary classes). I'll try a few others tomorrow, and I'll try with only this and PD later tonight.

I’ll look into it later tonight, I know I set the Guili’s Planet Modifiers flags to not trigger on the colony because it sorta broke it so I’ll check if PD has any special flags too.

@doctornull I’ll look into how their planets work. This mod isn’t really built to have compatability with PD but I’m willing to bet it’s an easy fix. I could see it having issues if PD uses custome deposits as well.

World Shaper origin with a planet class from Planetary Diversity gives a colony with no deposits. (Homeworld has normal deposits.)

Is this a load-order issue, maybe?

The planet class is Geothermal World, if that helps.

@Goldminermac Planetary Conquest doesn't really spawn often with the ai but I have seen them be successful with it. Hive amalgamation on the other hand, the ai is stupid as hell with, ngl. Every other origin works pretty well, actually.
