You can activate mods, just after activated your mods retun back to the map generator for regenerating your map. And don't return to your mods list, it's save.

how to work it
SouthTrainsYT Mar 4 @ 6:59am
For some reason, this doesn't work for me
Swiss Tac0 Mar 3 @ 2:06pm
i make a beautiful map in the generator menu. But then when i try to play its just a generic map

Heyo, is it possible to add a separate terrain height slider for each ratio except ocean? I got a nice map seed that got some mainland with two additional islands with ocean inbetween and i'd like to add some mountains and hills to it, while keeping a plain beach like area towards the ocean. When i increase the terrain height the plain areas also gain terrain heigt and the game generates hills and valleys with huge height differences.

Sorry it work ! :Perseverance: :Frieza:
just don't go in mods windows to activate them because it generate a new map, if you activate mods you will see the button to play writting "generating a new map" go to return generator,
and generate your map, clic next (suivant in French), and don't go in the mod tab.
Your settings are allready saved, so play directly.
(you can activate mods, just after retun to the map generator for regenerating your map)
Sorry if bad English.

I can't play the generated map.
outdated mod, other mods incompatibilities... I don't know. (I have other generator installed)
When I lunch the map generated, it have nothing to do with what I wanted. Just the size is good
Masire_ Oct 1, 2023 @ 1:21am
Having an issue where mountains won't generate at all and I've attempted to generate about 7 new ones and ticked and unticked mods to no avail. If anyone knows why let me know please
roberthillnelson Sep 18, 2023 @ 5:23pm
@Buck --> they're called river deltas, very common and normal for rivers to diverge into branches before hitting the ocean, famous deltas include Mississippi and Nile.
SuperJesse64 Jul 30, 2023 @ 9:01pm
I wish there was a desert and tropical versions of this.
Buck Futter Feb 2, 2023 @ 7:20am
not sure if it's this mod that gets it wrong or if it's part of the default behaviour but all my rivers are generated backwards. What do I mean by that? Well, the rivers tend to start as one river and then branch out into several branches before hitting the ocean which is extremely unusual in real life unless you're looking at huge river deltas. Not sure if there's a way to change this behaviour in the generation process though.

Im Spielmenü auf Freies Spiel drücken, dann bei Generator wählen -> Terrain Fever wählen.
Z_nan Nov 24, 2022 @ 5:58am
Is ther any tutorials or similar? Love it, but its very difficult to use to create varied terrains, especially valleys.
knolte7 Oct 14, 2022 @ 1:09am
funktioniert leider bei mir nicht. weder im karteneditor, noch beim map erstellen. ich bekomme die zusätzlichen optionen nicht angezeigt.
Ace Gaming Aug 26, 2022 @ 11:55am
its not working for me
Brulikrax Jun 26, 2022 @ 11:10pm
Then go in "Map Generator" and create a map.
Lachsenburg Jun 25, 2022 @ 4:13pm
Sadly, generation is not possible bc the game always selects the default generator while generating. Tipp from oHaakar didnt work
oHaakar May 13, 2022 @ 8:11am
So, I found the issue, after generate a map and go to settings, you must go back and generate the map once again, game change the generator to default when you go to settings (where you pick mods etc). working fine now.
oHaakar May 13, 2022 @ 8:02am
not working anymore, during gameplay the playable map is not the one generated
Haviland  [author] Aug 15, 2021 @ 7:26am
@Brulikrax: nothing planned in that direction as those would be completely new and different generators. I do plan on improving the tree generation at some point. But life is keeping me really busy...
Brulikrax Aug 13, 2021 @ 8:34am
To Haviland, are there any extensions for dry and tropical maps planned for the future?

Alviciototal, you have the "Sandbox mod" for editing stuff.
Aquiunrato Aug 10, 2021 @ 11:00am
Nice mod! but is it posible to edit cities and industries? or can it works in the map editor where you con put cities and industries manually?
ParAn0id Apr 2, 2021 @ 1:27pm
please fix radial setting, it always crashes on load
mYro Feb 25, 2021 @ 11:38pm
Genau das, was ich in diesem Spiel brauche.

Devi Feb 21, 2021 @ 3:58am
Thank you it's great! :spiffo:
jobob Feb 17, 2021 @ 7:33pm
@Unga bunga

You are selecting this from the dropdown menu at the top, correct? And not just using the standard Temperate generator, correct?
Garstmarst Feb 15, 2021 @ 2:56pm
I can activate the mod but see no settings for more generating? what am i doing wrong
modelcitizen Dec 27, 2020 @ 3:11pm
Hands down the best. Thank you!
Muladin Nov 20, 2020 @ 1:53am
Hi, its an great generator. But i have one problem (maybe not because of this generator). I have many placeholders after generating a map. stdout tells me asset/mountain_maple.mdl is missing.

Is this from your mod?
Greetings
Fyren Sep 26, 2020 @ 8:41am
It's fantastic, thank you!

If i may add though, the forests it generates are pretty small even if the slider's put all the way up, might be smoething worth checking into if you're intending on updating it.
Rezania Jul 31, 2020 @ 12:53am
Really like this terrain generator, such nice maps, thank you so much! However, there are still rocks everywhere. Any chance you can make your generator compatible with "No random rocks in map-generator"?

I enabled the mod, but I don't see the advanced generating menu, what do I miss?
DesAnderes Jun 28, 2020 @ 11:46am
Hey, I love the generator. It generates the best Maps so far. But what I still don't like is that most industries and cities get generated on the same hightlevel. That really bugs me with all the other generators too.
Is it possible to generate cities and industries on different high levels with small valleys in between them?
More the way it was in TF1?
Itami May 16, 2020 @ 7:17am
Perfect generator, but.. why so few trees? Can i somehow turn up trees count? Even on max value it's not creating big forests
jaminbob Apr 29, 2020 @ 2:00am
Thank you for this. It has changed the game for me!
b0nk Apr 14, 2020 @ 2:05am
This is the best temperate terrain gen change my mind
Haviland  [author] Mar 28, 2020 @ 4:10am
I uploaded another release. The mod should now work as expected in the map editor. Check out the version history for details.

Superhai Mar 25, 2020 @ 4:57pm
Map editor works like the free game if you create an ocean only map first.
Haviland  [author] Mar 9, 2020 @ 9:22am
@Superhai: For some reason the terrain generator behaves different when used from the map editor. I have yet to figure out why that is.

As for your other points:
- Tree line: it's a bug and should not be that way. I'll include a fix in the next patch.
- The tree slider affects forest density and size. I was able to crash the game when introducing too many trees. So in the end I turned it down a notch. I might look into fine tuning the slider.
- Shallow rivers only appear in the map editor
Superhai Mar 8, 2020 @ 10:01pm
Actually it seem to amplify the previous generated terrain.
Superhai Mar 8, 2020 @ 8:57pm
Very cool, it creates much more real terrain.

But when I play around with the settings they seem to not return to their former values. Also after a while a new seed will not create a new map. I find the tree generation to be strange, and it should not put trees above the tree line. If I drag the settings to the right it would be better if it cover the terrain with trees, now it make few lumps here and there, and when dragging the settings to the left it seem the lumps becomes just slightly smaller. As well quite often the rivers will be too shallow.
Haviland  [author] Mar 8, 2020 @ 5:17am
I just release a bugfix release. Check the version history for details.

@cetrix787: Thank you for your effort. I included the fix in the update.
@Pentasis: The mod should now appear in the mod list and should be usable in the map editor.
cetrix787 Mar 8, 2020 @ 4:02am
got it work with the following: Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1066780\2016383483\res\scripts\terrain_fever_ext.lua

on line 79 and 80 add a "local":
local a = {}
local b = {}
Pentasis Mar 8, 2020 @ 1:42am
It doesn't work in the map editor; it also doesn't show up in the mod-list but activates itself somehow?
Wilhelm the Werewolf Mar 7, 2020 @ 11:03pm
I'm getting the same error as Geon
Geon Mar 7, 2020 @ 9:04pm
I'm getting an error when I try to generate a map in free game. The error says "res/scripts/init.lua:64: creating globals by assignment is not allowed (variable was a)".
Crunchberry947 Mar 7, 2020 @ 7:37pm
Does this not load in the Map Editor? I see it in the Free Game creator, but it does not show in the Map Editor.
AV Mar 7, 2020 @ 2:10pm
oh, yeah, more water at temperate map, awesome!
