Simple patch, works, should be tagged compatible for 1.5
Blood Drawing Symbol Oct 28, 2024 @ 1:20pm
has anyone figured out how to fix the scenario editor bug where opening crashlanded or anything with the flak helmet causes an overflow of errors? It was mentioned here in the comments about a page or two back
Windows XP Aug 12, 2024 @ 9:12pm
it works in 1.5
elĐeve Aug 12, 2024 @ 9:03pm

methhead7481 May 1, 2024 @ 10:47am

Hi! Thanks for great mod!

Do you mind adding support to this mod?

I do love your mod and would appreciate its continuation. :)
Maxxmillian Apr 22, 2024 @ 11:24pm
Do you plan to update to v 1.5? Much thanks for your mods either way.
Kalter Stahl Feb 13, 2024 @ 6:21pm
Well... as a non-Ideology user im just happy to get some color on my flaks without adding a whole thing. Thanks!
Crazy Cat Gentleman Jun 19, 2023 @ 5:15am
am I the only one who finds that flak vests can't be smelted while running this mod? even ones made with cloth.
ProfileName May 4, 2023 @ 11:41am
I feel the only point of a mod like this becoming OP is when you have other mods that add rather... powerful resources.
TheGoofyOne  [author] Feb 4, 2023 @ 4:58pm
Nice. And Good points :)
Windows XP Feb 4, 2023 @ 10:41am
I think the color issue fixed itself. Must be a mod conflict thing.

This mod is like the only way viable way to have armor in extreme cold climates, besides SOS2 eva suits or some actually OP steam workshop power armor mod. A lot of the textiles you can make it out of have armor multipliers that make it less effective than the vanilla default "cloth" flak armor. Unless you're using expensive thrumbofur or hyperweave, the only real benefit you get over vanilla flak armor is warmth.

This mod is not op.
TheGoofyOne  [author] Feb 4, 2023 @ 9:18am
Haven't seen the color issue.
Possibly OP :)
Windows XP Jan 31, 2023 @ 8:52pm
Is anyone else having an issue where armor crafted out of hyperweave comes out white instead of hyperweave colored?
MalyBudda Dec 26, 2022 @ 3:34pm
to op
Fergus Nov 19, 2022 @ 12:38pm
The temperature protection values seem way off. A standard flak vest gives 1c of protection to cold, but a lot of fur vests seem to give on the order of 20c protection. This feels like cheating as it totally trivialises temperature protection - just put on a flak vest and you're pretty much fine.

Updated to 1.4, though I still need some help to figure out stuff tags to stop the scenario errors.
TheGoofyOne  [author] Aug 8, 2022 @ 5:57am
Someone mentioned something about adding stuff tags to help with scenarios that have flak helmets in them, but I am not sure what exactly they are talking about or if it would even fix this current issue some are having. I've reached out to them to see if they can elaborate.
Dirty Mike and The Boys Aug 7, 2022 @ 6:31am
No rush, it's clearly something that only affects a small amount of people.

I looked at the xpathing, too, there's nothing that should interact with menu ui. My first thought was another mod interaction, but it happens if I run the mod list vanilla with that as the only mod, so it might be an issue with one of the DLCs?
TheGoofyOne  [author] Aug 6, 2022 @ 8:49am
Very weird. It's s super small xpath patch only mod. It's been working for years. I'll shut down all my stuff and run it solo at some point, but I can play it fine so....... may be a bit.
Dirty Mike and The Boys Aug 4, 2022 @ 5:38pm
This mod recently just started throwing me "Mouse position stack is not empty." error when I open the scenario editor. Wrapped Flak Helmets does not throw any errors, so I have no idea what made it start doing this. Shame, because I loved making flak jackets out of devilstrand for the extra armor.
WarezCrawler Jul 25, 2022 @ 6:38am
I have the same issue as Nouk. The game flashes with an error about NRE regarding smeltable?!.... Don't know why, but game flashes black every 2-3 seconds until I removed the mod.
This only happened after I started to craft hyperweave gear.
Sileighty-Nine Jul 12, 2022 @ 11:13am
I third the wish for compatibility
Allyn Sep 7, 2021 @ 1:40pm
This mod breaks the scenario editor for me. No scroll bar, some drop boxes don't work at all, and the ones that do are cut off
MaxTillentine Sep 6, 2021 @ 3:54am
It is not, Daftspy. But i second your wish abou it being compatible.
Daft Sep 2, 2021 @ 9:08pm
Is this compatible with Midworld Expanded: Flak Armor?
Windows XP Aug 17, 2021 @ 9:49am
Not being allowed to choose other fabrics is stupid and this mod should be included in the base game
TheGoofyOne  [author] Jul 21, 2021 @ 10:58am
Updated to RW 1.3
TheGoofyOne  [author] Jul 21, 2021 @ 10:58am
Yeah that's very weird. Never seen that. This only patches the core defs, and created nothing new so. who knows.
FrenPat Jun 24, 2021 @ 4:42am
Unfortunately this mod (in combination with the other mods I use) makes my screen flash black. I'm not sure if there's a point to finding out what happened since no-one else has reported this problem. But if you want I can give you logs or mod lists or whatever you need if you're curious.
dninemfive Jun 10, 2021 @ 5:08am
No problem!
TheGoofyOne  [author] Jun 10, 2021 @ 4:40am
I scanned the beginning of your message and started replying... my apologies. I'll check it out for sure!

Thank you for your help though, and the persistence when I was ignorant. ;)
dninemfive Jun 9, 2021 @ 9:33am
@TheGoofyOne I'm telling you how you can fix this lol
TheGoofyOne  [author] Jun 9, 2021 @ 3:37am
As it would... The vanilla game doesn't use fabrics as a flak jacket modifier, so the vanilla scenarios will flag as you see. You can still do those scenarios with the vanilla items though, or use prepare carefully to put a hyperweave flak jacket on your favorite gunner before game start. ;)
dninemfive Jun 7, 2021 @ 11:54am
This seems to cause a spammy red error when editing a scenario including flak vests, jackets, and pants created with this mod - for example, the vanilla Crash Landed scenario. This can be fixed by adding a `<stuff/>` entry for those defs. Message me on the Rimworld discord [discord.gg] (@dninemfive#6790) if you need help writing the patch.
TheGoofyOne  [author] Mar 24, 2021 @ 6:13am
No need to apologize. Feedback is always welcome :)
PetLoverSpy Mar 12, 2021 @ 2:41am
Huh, strange. It may just be a conflict with a different mod then, my apologies!
TheGoofyOne  [author] Mar 10, 2021 @ 4:48pm
I dunno man. They are the same for every fabric. Here is what i'm adding when I patch:

<StuffEffectMultiplierArmor>0.5</StuffEffectMultiplierArmor>
<StuffEffectMultiplierInsulation_Cold>0.80</StuffEffectMultiplierInsulation_Cold>
<StuffEffectMultiplierInsulation_Heat>0.30</StuffEffectMultiplierInsulation_Heat>
PetLoverSpy Mar 10, 2021 @ 5:04am
It seems that the armor modifiers aren’t being applied correctly? For example I found a dog leather flak vest, and instead of dog leather’s 81% armor value lowering the flak vest’s base value it was only additive, making a simple dog leather flak vest have something like 161% sharp armor. That doesn’t seem quite right? I would assume that materials with armor values lower than 100% would LOWER the toughness of a flak vest, otherwise even using super flimsy fabrics would leave you better protected than base game flak vests.

Sorry was doing other shizzzz. Updated to 1.2...
TheGoofyOne  [author] Jun 27, 2020 @ 9:24pm
I just ported it to 1.1, but good to know TY :)
Lurking Jun 27, 2020 @ 8:02am
Great mod, but the armour values do change depending on what fabric you use. Good thing is, most raiders will also start wearing them, so it makes pirate raids and sieges a little more challenging.
Tobse_hehexD May 14, 2020 @ 9:30pm
I realised that flak armor got more op than marine armor if i craft flakjackets and flackpants with devilstrand. Kinda overkill. There is a reason, that flak armor is made out of cotton xD
Tactical Katelyn Mar 10, 2020 @ 1:21pm
I was almost hoping for a hyperweave flak armor setup but that would be overkill²
