Just updated the Barrow Legion sub mod with the latest installment.
Now I can look into horde mechanics, legendary lords.

I like the idea, it sounds cool.
By the way ím in the process of rolling out the next update to the Barrow Legion only Sub mod that will add bretonnian ethereal units and a bretonnian ethereal legendary lord. They will be recruitable after you capture Couronne.
When Im finished that up I can try to help you with your idea.
I tried to do something like that but transforming the golden order faction to Tzeenetch chaos horde faction but start pos conversion always failed no matter what i did.
Other way around could be choosing a chaos sub faction and creating brand new building chains, but without start pos modding the starting building would remain original chaos building and would spread chaos instead of undead taint.
SO I wanted to make a few changes to your mod for myself to learn & test out idea and your mod is perfect for what I want to do (other than a few changes)
In not 100% sure what you would like to do but there is the link for a Sub-mod that allows the units only to Barrow legion faction. So this will not allow carsteins or any other faction to use the units, except for Kemmler.

I tried to figure out sister of avelorn bow effect.
It is not a prop but rather an effect added to sister of averlon animation.
I could not figure out how same effect could be added to other unit so I have to skip that possibility.
I found a few interesting stuff in vampire Coast roster so might check few ehtereal related stuff to implement from them.
The only way to achieve this was to add additional buildings where the new units are bound. So i have to figure out proper effects for new buildings to make them different from balefire buildings and oussary stuff.

To keep with the Spectral theme, perhaps using the Mortis engine as a mount option for certain lords or heroes may be appropriate.
Based on available time I might create 3 separate sub-versions based on requests.
1 for only units
1 variant that contains only lords&agents
Planning to change the main mod to Barrow Legion only, while the separate submods would affect vampire Coast and vampire counts as well.
Also plan to add one last additional lord (+ lord themed elite units) and an overhaul & balancing of current custom lords and agents.
Also i'm working on next project that is a bit even bigger one. So will take for a while and will be themed around empire /chaos.
Soon i release a balance mod update that scales down a bit the assassins meele weapon dmg.
Also will scale down slightly the Ethermancer hero dmg and decrease greatly armor as that hero was almost unkillable.
Also reduced a bit armor of Spectral Ravagers to make them more killable.
adding those 2 is kinda op for them maybe ? i dont know but glad u can hear some random concerns
I try to make submod only for barrow legion.
Will see if there is any way to separate barrow legion units from other vampire factions as many groupings in tabels are overall covers vampire count factions.
I have only made Spectral lord a 3qty limit for recruit.

I check it in ME when get to that stage of the campaign.
Well it might be a bit op but normally you would not get to recruit even one of the assassins until turn 50-70.(im at turn 44 currently with barrow legion but wasnt able to recruit assassins yet)
Anyway I will check the balancing, but please note that, because of constant development of mod I wasnt able to finish a ME campaign or properly check End Game units balancing yet in my mod.

Possibly because of unit animation issues.

Just for heads up.
There are two new agents i'm working on.
I'm playtesting currently the first completed agent which will be a spy/spellcaster type ehtereal agent.
For me Mixu's Mousillion mod is active and I dont see any issue.
I will add a list of mods i'm currently using and works fine.
I'm not playing Empire, but I corrected the bug I suppose caused the skills disappearing for Empire Witch Hunter.
Can you please check it?

I put lot of effort into this mod + try to do balancing and bug fix as possible.
Mostly for my enjoyment, I'm also running a Barrow Legion campaign with this mod.
Taking into account the Barrow Legion. In upcoming days I will do major changes in the mod.
Balancing campaign buildings. Changing recruitment buildings.
Also will introduce 2 New recruitable lord type and öné Barrow Legion exclusive legendary lord which will be recruitable from Lord pool right after starting a New game with Heinrich Kemmler.
I checked the Barrow Legion in Grand Campaign.
All unit in this mod is recruitable by them.
I will update soon with a few additional units (3-4).
Plus will slowly work on a Lord for this additional army.
I'm not plannig to make an SFO version myself as I'm not using SFO currently.
Anyone who has the creativity and motivation to do so, they can feel free to create from my original pack an SFO variant.
I updated the mod to acess the units for Vampire Coast.
I trialed in Custom Battle and it seems ok.
I have not played yet campaign with Vamp Coast so I'm not sure about the campaign. It's something you have to trial.
