@timothykcy use TMPE to exclude the other cars from the PRT roads. Only allow "buses"

It's a very good asset but hope it can be totally separated from the road network like monorail or so. Even I do not connect it with my entire road network, other vehicles run on the PRT roads. Would be nice if it can be built like other railways.

I'd like it better if it didn't spawn as a bus on my normal bus routes. Haven't tested if it's the Improved Public Transport 2 mod that's placing them in the queue. That's the mod I have. I was somewhat confused by these pods appearing and don't really remember where I was prompted to subscribe to these pods. I have to go through each bus line and select my buses to make them go away. I've unsubscribed until later.

Basicly the Goodyear people mover from Disneyland Tomorrowland that ran from the late 60s to the mid 90s The original concept was not to move volumes of people, more like an inter campus transport system. I always thought it would be great on a college campus or a large commercial campus, I worked at one where we had to bus between buildings This system may have saved tons of time, since it is basically constantly available.

btw, this would be a perfect people mover at an airport or similar destination that requires a lot of parking. this asset is very similar to the little tram pods in the long term parking at Tampa Int Airport.

the stations must be placed by a road. okay. but the pod cars are leaving the track, driving through the station floor and getting onto the main road even though there is no connection between the track and the main road.

While I agree with some of the limited capacity comments mentioned below, I think this would be great in a zoo or an arboretum/expansive park setting as a fun mode of transport for leisurely viewing.

so... basically a bus just with a separate grade that is specialized? and has MUCH less capacity? i'm sorry heathrow but I don't see the logic here! why not just use a bus on said separated grade? you can get at highest 300 on a single deck rigid bus so... why when logically you can fit 296 passengers on a dedicated bus on the same network (add on the passenger capacity listed here) (which could be a trolley bus as well so that gets Emissions out of the way!)

I hope it's a separate network as many cars run on the road and sometimes the pods are forced to run on the existing network when I draw the route.

It seems that in the transit line view ui, these go outside of the elevated station (off the track abd perpendicular to the station) and then do a u turn back onto the same track. if i get rid of a nearby road, it goes back to normal tho

@TurtleShroom Did you read the description? "If you allow them to spawn on normal roads they will cause traffic jams because they are slow."

I wouldn't put the three things there if they weren't required.

@timothykcy You don't need those mods, instead you should go to the public transport, bus section, press on the image, and change the bus to the pod. Use TM:PE to ban all but buses from going on the guideways. I hope this helps.

Can you provide guides about how to "use Improved Public Transport 2 or Transport Lines Manager to ensure that only the Pods spawn on these networks, and to ensure the Pods do not spawn on normal roads"? I am having this problem now.

And I have no ideas why some cars are using the guideway when they are not connected with the existing road networks.

@Drora No it won't work, the pathfinding means they will just float across to normal roads. Also the cims can call a taxi from anywhere, not dedicated stations.

Taxis won't stay on guideways even if you build a seperate guideways-only road system, with a dedicated pod taxi depot? So there will be no connection to normal roads. This mod is so important to me because my dad worked on a similiar Taxi-pod-like solution irl and it would mean a lot to me if something like that could be achieved ingame, and it would mean a lot to him too. Maybe I can help making this happen in any way? I know some C and Java, and am willing to learn more if I could make this a reality

@Drora Tested trains and trams as alternative during development but I found bus lines work best. Taxis won't work because the pods won't stay on the guideways.

Is there any way to combine these awsome assests with the Taxi/Train AI? I mean letting the passengers choose to which station they want to travel, without the need of placing bus lines. It would make it more like the original, and also much more useful in my usecase. I would really appereciate if that would be possible :)

In response to your first comment:
You haven't done anything wrong, it's just the game's pathfinding being weird. Try moving the station further away from the road.

In response to your second comment:
Please look at the images at the top of the page. It shows you the fine road tool options you need to select. As you can see from the image, if you select "bridge" using fine road tool you actually get the ground version but with railings. You have to use the "elevated" version if you want to cross the river.

Okay this is more of a work around than a true fix, it requires a few mods (and please forgive me Sebnichols) but I simply removed the stations and used regular road to connect the ends, then put in standard bus stops and chose the pods as the bus for that line and voila' CITIZENS ARE USING IT! True confession: I also upgraded the road to invisible, but that's only because of a special circumstance. (I am using the pods in a national park and want a lighter footprint and they look GREAT!) I know someone will want to know which mods, I'll have to figure that out and follow up later.

About your network road, when I across a river, it always put mod under your road even when I choose "tool bridge" with FineRoad.
So, I had flood for a while, time for me to delete the road.
Then, I need to put bus road to across the river to get a bridge.
But is horrible because is not marching with your road.
At last, I just ask if is it possible to get bridge for your road.
At the present moment, I didn't check if your road can goes underground.
If not, is it possible to get it to ?

Hello,
Why in some elevated stations, some bus are going down and up ?
Here you are, how I did it, step by step :
1) I place elevated stations.
2) I put depot.
3) I connect all (depot and stations) with road for them with your network.
4) I put game in pause.
5) I making line bus.
6) I choose the bus I want to use it with IPT and number of buses I want.
7) I change with TM:PE V11 all access : denied car/truck/taxi/emergency/garbage.
8) I connect the pedestrian road or road to the stations/depot.
9) I remove with TM:PE V11 for all road (pedestrian/road) : buses
10) I put the game in play.

Then I saw in some station, the bus arrive. It stop. Then when it start, it goes down on the ground and it goes up and take the bus road.

@asterisk11231 I tried to when I was first making the assets, but if they're too close together they won't work properly (game thing). Even if I try to enable the first and last slot per side it still causes problems.
