so no, there's way to disable it that's easy to tell you
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jul 3 @ 7:20pm
@Nörr Betabound's ammo system only affects 13 guns, so you can avoid it. It does not conflict with other mods' ammo systems because only a few of Betabound's guns use it
Nörr Jul 3 @ 5:07pm
Is there any reliable way to remove the ammo system this adds? Doesn't really mesh well with others like FU.
Tarious Jul 1 @ 2:20pm
@Silver Sokolova

My apologies, Unde Venis flagged a lot of food items as patched by Betabound and I didn't consider that this might just be a fault of the main mod, which seems to be the case.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jul 1 @ 1:01pm
@Tarious Betabound doesn't do anything with an 'energyregen'. It must be some other mod doing it.
Tarious Jul 1 @ 5:49am
This seemingly causes issues with many green-grade and above foods from CN More Farming: Revitalization. Is this something I can fix with a load order change or would that have to be patched?

Replication: Eating some items instantly brings the player back to the main menu with the following error:

Exception caught in client main-loop (StatusEffectDatabaseException) No such unique stat effect 'energyregen'
BNDRX Jun 17 @ 5:18pm
Oh, I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know! :GDEasy:
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jun 17 @ 4:25pm
@BNDRX Yes, but Starbound++ is broken and iirc doesn't let you properly boot up the ship (along with other issues). Aside from those, there aren't any issues caused by using Betabound alongside it
BNDRX Jun 17 @ 3:44pm
Does this mod work with Starbound++?
Silver Sokolova  [author] May 28 @ 4:34pm
@MithranArkanere iirc RPG Growth only reintroduces steel and nothing else. The ones added by Betabound are different items
MithranArkanere May 28 @ 3:31pm
RPG Growth reintroduces lost materials like steel bars too. Are they the same item?
omba May 20 @ 3:19am
ah, possibly another mod i have installed as i get the base game temp system and the FU one
Silver Sokolova  [author] May 19 @ 10:39am
@omba Betabound doesn't even have a temperature system. Anything Betabound does with it uses vanilla's system, and it already works with FU since it gives you resistance points like antidotes do
omba May 19 @ 8:43am
anyone think they could get betabound's temperate system to be compatible with FU's temperature/resistance system?
The best starbound mod in the workshop right here
Silver Sokolova  [author] Apr 8 @ 1:11am
@Lothai yes
Lothai Apr 7 @ 11:41am
will this mod work without the required texture mods?
Silver Sokolova  [author] Mar 18 @ 11:30am
@TurboMegaCharge yep! that's intentional, like how you can still read a codex without having the item
TurboMegaCharge Mar 18 @ 9:33am
Ok I see ty, one other thing is about the music sheets: they stay in your inventory and you'll keep the song for the radio even if you can delete or sell them. Maybe you could make it work like blueprint and disappear on use, idk if it's possible. I'll start posting in the feedback thread from now if I have more things to say.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Mar 18 @ 8:20am
@TurboMegaCharge glad you like it! the wooden kitchen table is available from tier 1 and only offers recipes that use 2 or less ingredients. In vanilla, the cooking table is available after getting tungsten. I might run a poll to see if people skip over the wooden kitchen table since the vanilla cooking table available in tier 2.
The download button allows players to make their own tech unlock items for any tech they have. They can use this to share techs with friends or for tech crafting in the tech development console
TurboMegaCharge Mar 18 @ 6:48am
also what is the download button for in the tech suit window?
TurboMegaCharge Mar 18 @ 6:47am
Ok I've retried it, it's pretty cool mod overall. I wonder about the point of some features here in there. Like the wooden kitchen table which has no use besides very early cooking if I understand correctly but the vanilla kitchen counter is not hard to craft either so I don't really see a point for this. Also I had to make my own patch to remove biome parallax transitions which make me freeze. Ty for the mod
A-Vladimir Mar 13 @ 8:03pm
@Silver Sokolova Tnx for the info, I made my own patch to remove it :P
Dirtnap Mar 12 @ 11:34pm
@TurboMegaCharge You could download the 'auto trash' mod and set it to trash the bullets, so the counter doesn't show up ever.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Mar 12 @ 11:21pm
@A-Vladimir no
A-Vladimir Mar 12 @ 8:10pm
Is there a way to disable the download button for tech?
Silver Sokolova  [author] Mar 12 @ 3:42pm
@TurboMegaCharge Only 13 guns in the mod use ammo, so you can avoid them. It's not something that affects all or most guns. The guns also won't show an ammo counter if you don't have any ammo (you can still fire the gun; it will use your energy bar), so you can just throw out any ammo you find and not have to deal with it
TurboMegaCharge Mar 12 @ 9:59am
The ammo counter in the middle of the screen on my character was a throw off for me from the start. So much that I didn't try the mod any further and removed it even if I'd like to. Change the UI so that it's not a big number over the character maybe and put it somewhere else to the side of the screen with the other UI elements. I like to keep the UI clean with no additional middle of the screen HUD.
Dirtnap Mar 8 @ 1:38am
Cool. Thanks.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Mar 8 @ 12:01am
@Dirtnap if you hold shift, the gun will use energy instead of ammo and the ammo counter will disappear. only some guns use ammo
Dirtnap Mar 7 @ 10:49pm
Any way to hide the ammo counter above the players head?
Fuyuno Feb 20 @ 11:02pm
sadness deeply ensues. i'll check it out and sub to it as well anyway ^^ thank you
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 20 @ 10:42pm
@Fuyuno no. Starburst Rework has some mechanics related to that though, but it's not quite like beta's
Fuyuno Feb 20 @ 10:27pm
does this add temperature back? like, i miss how you'd be able to pretty much freeze to death the deeper you went, unless you were near a heat source xD
Alexandra Iwakura Feb 9 @ 11:09pm
русификатор when (кто-нибудь пожалуйста)
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 5 @ 11:02am
I don't think it's a big deal. The list I removed wasn't some massively detailed and intricate one, it was fairly barebone. I removed it because people kept getting confused by it

Betabound also has preview images and a list in its description which shows some of what it adds
BITney, The Pixel Heister Feb 5 @ 6:55am
But necessary, can't have a mod of this kind adding and changing so many things (even being compatible) and then wonder what it does. I'm willing to do it for anyone out there having the same thoughts as I have.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 5 @ 12:06am
@64 exactly

a comprehensive feature list would take a while to make
64 Feb 4 @ 11:43pm
I mean I'm under the impression that such a list DID exist in some capacity, but it was removed because people got confused about what it was actually incompatible with to what was just content overlap.
BITney, The Pixel Heister Feb 4 @ 6:35pm
That's precisely what I don't want, having mods that do the same and doesn't break, that way I would see and discard. I want to use just Betabound and for that I just wanted to see everything this mod do somewhere, not finding out playing trying things. I expected something like Starbound Patch Project has, a large list with everything it does.

I really like this mod and what it adds to this game, sorry if I sound rude. :P
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 4 @ 6:19pm
@BITney, The Pixel Heister no, Betabound is built for compatibility, so even if you have a mod that does something Betabound already covers, 99% of the time nothing bad will happen. If there needed to be a comprehensive feature list to avoid incompatibilities, there'd be one
BITney, The Pixel Heister Feb 4 @ 5:26pm
So to know what this mod do entirely to avoid incompatibilities is reading all the changelogs? :///
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 4 @ 5:13pm
@BITney, The Pixel Heister there isn't
BITney, The Pixel Heister Feb 4 @ 3:44pm
There's a file with all the changes made by this mod? I'd like to purge some redundant mods just to use this.
TheSordishMan54 Jan 26 @ 11:43pm
*Sigh* There goes the redudant mods list by hiding it. That makes it a poor choice to hide the post for misinterpreting, but that's fine to me.

Anyway, going to return to Starbound that I haven't played in a long time now. Safe modding and travels in space out there.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jan 26 @ 6:24pm
@TheSordishMan54 I hid it because I think people were misinterpreting what it was for. Betabound works with everything, including FU. FU does bring back beta stuff but Betabound does it better
TheSordishMan54 Jan 26 @ 4:07pm
Forgot to address one issue that I forgot to add to my comment involving a rather stupid compatibility question: Redudant Mods List post is either not available or deleted to check which mods work well with it and which don't work.
TheSordishMan54 Jan 26 @ 12:32pm
Just subscribed to this mod, but I have an rather dumb question about compatibility: Is it compatible with Frackin' Universe as it does bring back beta stuff on the compatibility list?
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jan 25 @ 9:54am
@Wespy it should, since the change is that they drop a new item that the player can eat
Wespy Jan 25 @ 7:26am
Do the new Fluffalo mechanics work with the Fluffalo Overhaul mod?
