Primitive moisture pump

Nah its because of an exploit you can do where you massively speed up draining by moving them repeatedly to shift the circle at a time
There's a mod that adds minification/reinstallation of them and it explicitly warns you to have self-control and not use the exploit

@Starfoth The Burgundy Silk Rug it would be a bit OP, I guess

Ah darn, it can't

@Starfoth The Burgundy Silk Rug I can't remember to be honest. I expect it to be the same as the vanilla one.

Can it be moved or reinstalled?

The winmill idea would be perfect, or like a hand pump. but very helpful, thanks!

While others have suggested a windmill method, I was thinking more of a bonfire method where you would place the thing down (2x2, this bonfire is gonna be big) and it chugs through fuel... quickly... as a means to dry the area around it

A little late, but I currently have no access to my mods. You could use a text search util to search for the mod title. Adding a config, well, I wouldn't know how to.

Does anyone know by any chance the ID of the mod in the content folder under rimworld? Its a sequence of 9 numbers. Or could you add a config that can change the time it takes for the pump to spread, that can be modified in mod options.

I'm going to need to dive into the mechanics of windmills for that and won't have time for that for a few weeks but then I definitely will, I like the idea.

While I liked the thought behind this mod, I'm in agreement with Boolyman. I thought this would have been a good way to get some of the marsh/water areas changed by the time I got to researching the actual moisture pump but was mistaken. When I saw 40days until it's first expansion I knew this wasn't going to work. Would you take the suggestion from Vats and have it designed to be similar to a windmill powered pump and reduces the time? Increase the cost to 80/85 steel and make it a two block instead of one but only the main source block is the one that expands while the other is like a windmill back? or maybe if the pump gets connected to power it reduces the time? Something though as 40 days seems a bit long considering how fast most people can get to the moisture pump.

I like the idea of this mod, but it seriously takes sooooo long to have an effect, we could actually research our way all the way up to moisture pumps by the time this did it's job... which kind of negates the point of the mod. Any way to make the speed a little more reasonable? It doesnt have to be as good as the pump... but it should at least have a point, imo.

oh, i am not on 1.1 and it may be some kind of conflict with the other MANY mods i got installed.

i do not see it working, ground is still the same after AGES. :-/

Would be interesting to have a windmill-powered pump for a medieval-grade moisture pump, like the ones that the Dutch used to reclaim marshes through Polders.

@Chicken'd Looks like it requires Complex Furniture research to be built

Good mod, Tynan has a very techbro vision of how primitive people live, thanks for this.

So how do you make one of these? I'm on a Tribal start and don't have the option to build it, I can build it if I have god mode enabled. I can't seem to find it on the research tree either.

Interesting. One problem I have with how a lot of tech is implemented in this game is that many things are barred behind advanced techs that, realistically, should not be. This is a great example of a fix.
