So your probably done with RTW2 by now. . . but in the off chance that you still enjoy tinkering with the game from time to time. . . is there any chance for an update to this mod? The bandaid is one of the best I've seen.

hello... this need an upgrade... first of all the romans dont throw the pilum and not charge because they use the formation and same happens with many troops that fight like romans making the use of the special hability of throwing javelins useless.... and second the hoplite phalanx does not mantain formation when they are fighting.... this is the best formation mod that i see i hope that you can fxx it :D

Hello X i. Another modder told me to ask you about help creating a mod that removes skirmish mode. So here i am. Is it possible for you to create such a mod? i tried myself but i can't do it.

and i found a solution to the unit attack when they are in formation.. the solution is very simply the only thing you must to do is use a mod who made more frecuently the combat animation lik this mod http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=683895635 ;)

I see the issue. When both units use the formation the unit lock on system fails. Thus units will just stand there...bumping into each other...almost zero killing. Can you fix this sir. It works well otherwise... assuming you fight a unit not using the formation. Or the phalanx. I see the praetorian unit im fighting right now using it. Not throwing pilum or anything which I dont mind. But my spartans cannot lock on to his units .

I love the new phalanx. But... I noticed that whenever I use the spear wall. The Elite version me and the AI army stacks up against one another but just stand tehre...pushing against each other. There are a few fights.. but primarily they jus stand there...it looks like a collision bug. Can you check it out. The fight wont commence before I remove the spear wall ability. Then my units target the AI's. But then I wont have the benefit sadly...

Nice mod, i adjusted the "spear_inf" close_formation_spacing_horizontal # from .9 to .7 so that thier shields now overlap. added a spartan_spear_inf line and made them close_formation_spacing_horizontal # from .9 to .7 close_formation_spacing_variation # from .2 to 0 (moving it to 0 made them line up one behind the other).

Just tried it. This is the best Roman/Hoplite formation fighting I have seen so far! They hold their lines and move as one! Congratulations on doing CA's job for free! If you could add/combine the overarm spear of moon's mod.... Oh boy!.... Still, this mod is definitely one to check out, if not MUST-HAVE! WELL DONE!

This game is literally not the same without this mod. This mod is what made the game great for me, I can't even play it anymore. Please update soon, we will all be eternally grateful.

The Roman army used formations to fight , their discipline and training ,and also their version of the Non commissioned officer ie. the Centurion for instance, to reinforce that training and 'remind , the legionaire of his training' ,allowed the legion to defeat barbarian horde armies with as many as a 10 to 1 disadvantage for the Romans. My concern with this mod is that it will allow the Barbarian nations to stay in formation making the game unauthentic in the extreme.

I believe this mod still works with the mod changes. It definitely worked after patch 10... not sure about this newest one, but shouldn't take too long to test!

Is this still working with the new mod changes? It has a large yellow sign and says 'Out of Date', but I assume that nothing needs to be updated?

This mod changes the standard "formation attack" into an activated ability that stays on until you unselect it. It makes the formations more clustered and hard to break. It also gives a minor stat buff. When you have it activated your units cannot charge. Consequently, they will not be able to through their spears/pila/pilum (have no idea).

If you are already have the "formation attack" ability, then you should be able to move around and adjust formation.

However, if you don't have the ability active and your unit engages in combat, then the formation attack ability cannot be activated. That is a feature of this mod, partially in order to balance it. It is not something that should be changed.

If you want to use formation attack with this mod, make sure to activate it before the unit engages in combat (melee).

Please fix the rank broken thing... In combat it is almost impossible to re-organize in a formation. If one single unit is out of line, it cannot be enabled. Please make it so that you can still enable it if there are 75% of the soldiers in line. Otherwise it is kinda broken and makes me want to disable this mod :/

Yeah, I just tested the new formation attack from the beta patch and it's... basically unchanged. Definitely still need this mod.

I tried varius battles and the Mod is ok and STILL ESSENTIAL for phalanx battles.TW in this area is still broken.They fixed pikws though

The only issue i see is that the Roman Legions would have fought in formation 24/7 and the fact that this takes away the charge in formation attack would also take away the Pila and Shield smash of the Romans.

This is most likely a mod conflict. I believe Radious and Close Combat are two mods that produce this conflict.

You may want to add a small note to your description that informs people that this bug happens when there is a mod conflict, so that they can start testing right away rather than waiting to be told.
