game freezes when generating new maps. I can load previous saves that use this mod however

for some reason trees don't generate anymore

> Still looking into this, but for now you have to go without rocks if you don't want any trees.
It's not a problem, it's the desired result. I want trees but not the rocks. That scattered everywhere rocks are awful.

it works very well for me, you just have to customize the game as you want to play and come back on the creation of map then play directly without going into the mods

To make rivers wider you need to look at mapgenutil.MakeRivers function. Look for valley.widths. I think you can edit widths after the function returned, in terrain generator itself. I tried increasing but didn't like the result - all rivers became equal width. Need some random function to make them look more varied.

How to make the river thicker? I don't want much lakes but the river thick all over. Which value of the config file deals with river thickness?

This mod is great when using random map, but when creating a map, there is no generate button

@DiscoDave This generator is thought for the temparate climate.

This works fine with latest update. The tropical one does not. Any ideas?
Lancisman May 7, 2021 @ 10:33am
@Trollsama it changes tree line
Trollsama Jan 1, 2021 @ 4:28pm
Out of curiosity, what does the "timber line" slider change? I know the forest slider changes the overall tree density on the map, but i cant figure out what tree line is doing.....

And a second thought: Would it be possible to get cities and industries "attracted" to landscape features? I.e. cities having a tendency to be at rivers or in valleys, farms in flatter areas, mines and quarries near mountains? That would be very neat :-)
cubicle.warrior Jan 1, 2021 @ 5:32am
Alles Gute im neuen Jahr!
I love your mod, but could you add a slider to generate wider rivers? Or maybe even a wider river with smaller ones feeding it? I don't know if this is even possible with the procedural logic in the game :-)

Excellent mod, I love the maps it generates. Now if only it could add snow!

There are no useful snow mods in existence. One mod has snow with the lowest elevation being 700 meters but that's pointless for game generated maps whose mountains top out a little above 300 meters. A useful snow mod would have settings such as 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 meters.

The "glacier" mod in the old game was awesome because it also included physics for shade. That is, it produced more snow in shady areas and less in sunny ones. Oh man, if only someone could move that mod to this game!!!

Gibt es Neuigkeiten zur "Wüstenversion"?
lnomsim Aug 4, 2020 @ 10:54am
How do i get moutains and forests?
No matter what parameters I use, I have small craters everywher, some ridges here and there, but nothing close to a hill and no trees.
DrShabink Mar 5, 2020 @ 6:06pm
Would it be possible to have maps be more "uneven"? As in: the west is mountainous and the east is all plains, while the south is a coastline. Even better if the resources could somehow be tied to the terrain (mined resources in the mountains, farms in the prairies, etc.)
I don't know why I'm throwing this all at you, just some thoughts. Great mod, though!

This is now my default generator, loving the options. One question/request though: could a "river width" option be added? Wider rivers would be nice.

@hansi2009.sk - vielen Dank! :tgrin:
alf Feb 6, 2020 @ 12:36pm
give much more choice in creating maps, great, thank you.
hansi2009.sk Feb 4, 2020 @ 9:00am
LegendFusion Jan 26, 2020 @ 9:02am
Im not getting any towns or industry right next to river when using this map generators, they are all a fair distance away from rivers. Is that intentional or can it be fixed by using other settings?
Wannaka Jan 23, 2020 @ 9:51am
This doesnt work, after the update today. Any update on this mod soon? It's a great mod ;)
marc345 Jan 22, 2020 @ 1:03am
Wirklich sehr sehr guter Mod. Damit kann man endlich realistischere Karten machen!
Längst überfällig von UG...
Doc Savage Jan 20, 2020 @ 12:31am
Just came back to thumb/fave this. It has only one issue, it doesn't always remove forks in the rivers. Otherwise this is so, so nice compared to the vanilla map tools. Awesome work.

Many thanks..!

Cheers..!

Lass' dir Zeit.
henning.schaefer  [author] Jan 13, 2020 @ 4:34am
cubicle.warrior Jan 11, 2020 @ 7:36am
Da schliesse ich mich an - Wüste bitte :-)
andschae Jan 11, 2020 @ 5:28am
Super Mod, vielen Dank!
Starbucaneer Jan 8, 2020 @ 5:48am
Thanks for creating and sharing this mod Henning, I love that we have so much control over maps in TpF2 BUT had been disappointed with the lack of finer control of rivers and lake generation. Your mod makes that possible so I am VERY grateful. :steamhappy:
henning.schaefer  [author] Jan 6, 2020 @ 12:54pm
@Yak Hunt: Unfortunately, it is indeed outside the scope of this mod. The subsystem that is modded here is only responsible for the generation of the landscape (terrain and tree/rock assets), the factories and towns will be placed by a different subsystem in a later stage of the map generation. However, you could still use the mod to create a blank map in the map editor, and then manually place the towns and factories at your desired density.
b0nk Jan 6, 2020 @ 11:10am
Is it possible to get an option to reduce town/factory density even further for experimental map sizes? Or is it outside the scope of this mod?
dsfsdfsdfsdf Jan 6, 2020 @ 8:16am
Echt super gut. DANKE :steamhappy:

Good one, added to collection. Must have required quite a bit of tweaking, I assume :)
