After not playing for awhile, I've come back to the game and wanted to add some mods before starting back up... I thought the sounds weren't working because I couldn't tell a difference, but it turns out I had launched the game after subscribing and the Workshop files worked without me having to do anything with vpk files or the custom folder... but I do have one question: Is there any way to increase the volume of explosions? So often the volume of gibs or debris bouncing around after an explosion vastly exceeds the volume of the explosion itself... it seems completely unbalanced... I was hoping your mod would fix this but it seems to be the same... any comments? tricks/hacks?

Oh, I see, lastly, think you could make a compatibility patch for Daniel's M4A1 (mostly) fixed? your pack already is either compatible or has compatibility patches for the "HD Styled" Weapons, minus the M4

When you hear that, it means the guard is trying to reload, but can't cuz he's moving or smth, i have no clue what BM devs did to it but welp.

BM default sounds really lack punch. This raises firefights to the next level, makes firing much more satisfying. I appreciate the work you put into this.

HL2 ones go above the treshold and L4D2 ones are mono like default BM ones.

There's only so loud the source allows me to make them pop, either i lose distant explosions which require 2 different mono sounds in one, be it left and right channel, or have louder stereo explosions.

I think my only gripe is with the SMG. It's a little TOO beefy for a 9mm. And maybe wishing the explosions were more of a *pop*

One day, once i feel like it, i'll continue work on the 3rd version of this.
And yes, is a good game, with mostly great atmosphere, just the gunplay feels lacking.

that doesn't seem to be the problem, my gameinfo has been set up, vpks for models and stuff load fine for me, it's just sound mods it seems, maybe black mesa just handles those differently now

Yeah you need to play with the gameinfo.txt too, i included mine so you can just overwrite it.

Yeah, it's been on a hiatus for quite a while now though, kinda got bored of BM, but that doesn't meant i won't finish it one day.
