Welp, game updated to AP-419840-D and both the required radiation and this mod now stops working. Sad sad.

So with supercoolant, at best you can injest 19g/s (stable) and up to 20g/s temporarily. This limit is due to the amount of heat each 10kg of supercoolant could carry and the heat exchange rate. Without active cooling, i.e aquatuners, you could at most drive 10-12 steam turbines. With active cooling, I was able to get ~19.6 turbines but this eats into my net energy production leaving me with about 60% net or ~6000kJ/cycle.

In order to fully inject 50g/s of hydrogen, I think hypercoolant is needed, which conveniently was also made by this mod author.

Mod working with game version AP-410209-D.
Coolant heating rate has to do with how much hydrogen is being used up. Rate limit the hydrogen input until you understand how to tame the beast.

I support the idea its pretty good and realistic. A D-T fusion reactor would be pretty nice too and an alternative cooling.

Yeah sadly its crashing for me too every time I try to load a game where I placed a fusion reactor, even tough I made sure to load Radioation mod before Fusion Reactor... :'(

@KETTLEPHONE a fusion reactor that produces iron... I mean, why stop at that. It'd be super cool to have a fusion reactor that can create intermediate steps as well. Would be easy (comparatively) to implement carbon(refined carbon) and Oxygen, but I could see an implementation for other elements to be added, like lithium, to make lithium batteries somehow, and perhaps Mercury, with its unique melting point.

I have a valve in the pipe line that goes into input but it just comes out the output even with liquid shut off is on

@Apple | CSGOLive: This is by design. You can use automation and liquid shutoffs to make sure it fills up. Or even just valves

@Guardian Angel: The reason for only using lead for shielding is (except for it being known for that) is because of its low melting point, forcing the player to work around limitations

At full power the fusion reactor produces 50000 kDTU (50 MDTU), enough to power just about 57 steam turbines. This is an immense amount of almost free energy, in an easily managed form (piped liquid), and so it comes with a number of drawbacks to compensate. The radiation being the main one, but also the need for automating fuel and coolant supply

Okay, so... It needs a certain amount of liquid inside it to work. Makes sense. But it doesn't store ANY liquid if it's connected to an output? Like, if I put more then one in a row (because I need way more heat then 1 can give me), and they're connected, they'll just string liquid through with no stops without filling up any of them. I could probably make it work with automation timers and valves and such, but...

Why. Why should I have to do that. Why would anyone do that. This is such a bizzare and pointless problem.

Would it be possible to have any alternative to lead as shielding? Lead is indeed the classic medium (alongside concrete), but lead is a finite resource- There are no lead volcanos, no any space destinations with lead.

@Squeegee: You don't need to acquire Helium. It runs on Hydrogen and produces Helium as a waste product

@Goldobsidian: Actually fusion rectors do produce radiation. What they don’t produce is large amounts of radioactive waste. There are even fusion reactor designs that work by directly converting radiation to electricity in addition to the fusion heat.

However, for this mod the main reason for the radiation is to present a challenge to the player

Just FYI. I dont know if you did it for balance or just misunderstanding.

Fusion Reactors dont output Radiation like a Fission reactor does. All the radation form a Fusion reactor is so minor and mild, it cannot even penetrate human skin.

There is no nuclear waste like with Fission reactors and if a Fusion reactor ever became unstable, removing its fuel source would cause the plasma to quickly die off and the reactor to become shutdown. If a containment breach ever happened plasma would explode out into the facility but otherwise be harmless to the enviroment, aka no chrenobyl esk disaster.

The biggest risk with fusion reactors is the fuel, or Tritium. If a large amount leaked out into the enviroment it could contaminate water sources and poison people. Even compaired to Fission materials, Tritium is so harmless in the grand scheme of things that its the most commonly used element in things like glowing watch faces/hands. Hell you can buy glass vials of it on amazon for like 5 bucks.

Your free to make your mod your way, and do what you want. just some feedback.
