if you're still crashing try deleting the mod from your pc, should make steam get the latest version

This is seriously one of my favorite mods for the game, thank you so much for making it! I have a suggestion/feature request, if possible/desirable - when using "custom soundtrack," I think it would be preferable to show the currently playing track at the top, rather than at the bottom. Further (and for me, more importantly), I think it would be really great if the "currently playing" entry was interact-able, so that changes could be made without having to hunt for the actual line item. Any chance this would be possible in a future update?

was testing out a few things and tried this out as well, getting the custom selection mode to support 20 more options would have been a pain given how much else would need to be changed, but I figured out a relatively simple way to support the feature if people are willing to set up their soundtrack mods with this in mind, or are willing to do a little xml editing, so for the time being its kind of supported as of the latest version

basically in the xml file of a soundtrack you can have a "Basement 1" track and a "Basement 2" track, then in the options in the config menu, go to the settings for the specific soundtrack and change the variant setting to "set by floor"

Since this mod allows Hush phase 1 and Mega Satan to have unique tracks, I figured I'd ask if there was a way to add separate tracks for boss challenge rooms/super sin bosses for parity with Wrath of the Lamb's soundtrack

So the problem is solved now. I found out that the Neon Evangelion Soundtrack replaced all kinds of music/sounds, even if not selected in the Soundtrack Menu Mod.

Thanks for the insight. That command did not mute the music, so it's as you suspected. Anyway, I found the culprit, this Touhou music mod, when installed, causes the bug I experienced when any soundtrack is chosen: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2619515485

The comments there already point out a malformation in one of its config files, so there's probably some unsanitized config data making SM screw up somehow.

for me the floor music fades out as expected when entering the room, though I can cause the issue you're describing by changing the music volume in the options while in the room, but leaving and reentering resets it back to working normally, maybe something is triggering a music volume update? try entering "lua MusicManager():Fadeout(0.1)" in the console while in a floor or special room and see if it removes the floor music, if not then something is forcing your music to never be muted

I have a quick question about continuous mode; while the main level songs do indeed keep their place when in sub rooms (which is great), the main songs also play OVER shop song or secret room song or so on. Two songs playing at once. I feel like I didn't have this issue a few weeks ago, but it's developed now and no amount of tweaking settings or reinstalling has resolved it. Any thoughts on troubleshooting? (Using Repentogon btw.)

there are the game over jingle and game over music options near the bottom of the custom list, just set them like you did with the rooms, changing them from shuffle to something else

So I ran into a problem. I love this mod, have some amazing OSTs in rotation but I also want to use a custom death sound/screen. Are mods that alter these not compatible with custom music mods? Whenever I die I hear a random soundtrack ending but not the death sound/screen music I like. Any way to fix that?

that is supported but only with repentogon not mmc, if you have repentogon you can go to the options tab in the config menu (left of default/shuffle/custom) and there should be a setting for continuous floor music

Do we have it so now when you go from a different soundtrack for each different room, it doesn’t reset after backtracking? Like I’ll have it set to be different soundtracks but if I go into the shop and then come out of it, the song has now reset to the very beginning of that song that was playing before I went in the shop so I’m forced to listen to the beginning of a lot of songs but never the end.

you can do that by going to custom mode, setting each entries soundtrack to shuffle (left of default) except for the shop entry (and any other specific rooms you want to always have the same music) which you would leave on default or set as a specific soundtrack, basically the custom list would look like this:
Shuffle
Basement
Shuffle
Cellar
Shuffle
Burning Basement

(and so on for the rest of the floors)

Antibirth
Angel room
Default
Shop
Flash
Arcade
etc

Can I select custom shop music? I tried around and I think its not possible but I would love to listen to various soundtracks while relying on speciifc music for specific rooms, especially the shop. Would be cool to see an option to select that if its not possible so far. Like a "main" soundtrack that replaces all the "special" music that happens in a run.

Hi! Sorry for taking so long to respond, i managed to find the problem and solution today! I tried reinstalling this mod, music callback, updating repentogon, but none seemed to work. However the problem was the "Mom's shadow intro jingle", I was using custom soundtrack at the time and mine was set to "Default" so when the "Knife piece 2" was collected the jingle for some reason wasn't playing for me, so the mineshaft escape theme didn't start. But when i've set the Mom's shadow intro jingle to "Rebirth" then the jingle plays and afterwards the Mineshaft Escape music begins playing like normal, otherwise it wont work. I don't know why it's happening that to me considering i have all the mods disabled and updated but i'm glad i found a solution at least. Thanks for the reply and sorry for bothering!

I'm not getting the moms shadow or secret jingle issues in testing, though i did have them both happen ages ago and I added checks to fix them, maybe you're on an old version?

I'll add an option for the enemies layer to be always enabled for floor music, should appear in the options tab once you get the update

So basically:

Using Repentogon only = Mineshaft Escape doesn't play, but secret room jingles play like normal

Using Repentogon + Music Callback = Mineshaft Escape plays, but secret room jingles don't.

I don't know if that's a issue with the mod itself or with Repentogon, would you mind telling me how to fix it if it's a problem in my side please? Great mod by the way! Can't imagine me playing without this mod lol

Hello, i have a problem. I have already disabled all of the mods i had except this one and the mod config menu, i'm using REPENTOGON and i'm also on Repentance (Normal repentance, not Repentance+), so i didn't have the music callback installed. However, when it's supposed to play the "Mineshaft Escape" music it just doesn't play (I've also set it to default or Rebirth, both didn't work). So i tried installing the Repentance Mod callback and now the Mineshaft Escape music plays like normal, but the secret room jingle that plays when you find them are not playing. It just cuts the audio for a bit and plays nothing.

You were right about the alt secret room settings, but I've been checking shops along with them in order to make sure it's consistent to any room I set as "Use Floor Track", but in testing stuff after reading your comment, I've found something I didn't realize.

I'll set Depths to "TheEndIsNigh - Depths", and the secret room Use Floor Track, and it worked right. Then I set Depths as "TheEndIsNigh - Catacombs", and when I enter the secret room, it starts to play "TheEndIsNigh - Depths". So it's not actually calling back to the Rebirth default, it's always using the same library.

In your testing, are you changing the floor's track to one from a different floor in one of the ones that isn't working listed below? I can make it work, but only when I pick a Depths track for Depths or Downpour track for Downpour, so I was thinking maybe in your tests, your track settings are the same floor.

is it consistently the same floors with the issue even if you change the soundtrack for each floor and start a new run?

one thing I noticed when testing was one secret room seemed to work fine but then another secret room on the same floor didn't, then I realised I'd only set 'secret room' to use floor music but not the 'secret room alt' or 'secret room alt 2' tracks much later down the custom list, so if you've only had the issue with secret rooms that could be it

it is rep+ compatible (it used to mention it but it must have been removed in an update, its annoying that if you update the description in steam and then later update the mod the uploader program grabs the description from the mods files and not the updated description from steam) and I've been using it with rep+ for the past week

surprised you went so far as to uninstall and reinstall the game (as opposed to just verifying integrity) but the fact that new options appeared proves that either something was broken or you had an older version

Part2: Then I realized, I'm not 100% certain if this mod is Repentance+ compatible, and I don't see anything mention Rep+ in the description. I wanted to try Repentogon again to see if that would help with this, but it's still not updated to work with Rep+. If compatibility isn't an issue, I'm just baffled. I once had a mod problem with a Stardew Valley mod that the creator confirmed didn't even affect the files that had anything to do with the issue, yet hours of testing always pointed to that one mod.

Now I'm curious if any other users can recreate these problems, just because this mystery is so interesting lol.

(Comment split into 2 for character limit) Part1: I thought I had surely found the issue when I discovered a mystery "Antibirth Soundtrack" mod in my folder that I wasn't subscribed to and doesn't even exist in the workshop, and deleted it. Still not working, so I unsubbed, uninstalled, and reinstalled both this and [Rep]Music Callback, and still the same issue. Then I unsubscribed to all mods, uninstalled Isaac, deleted all folders and files in Steam and in My Games, reinstalled, turned off Cloud Saves in Steam and the ini file, subbed only to MCM Pure, Soundtrack Menu, and [Rep]Music Callback, and the Soundtrack Menu actually had options that weren't there before, so surely it's fixed. Nah, same thing as before. I'm honestly tempted at this point to doing what is long overdue, and getting a new SSD and a fresh install of Windows, just to see if this bonkers issue that only I have is just stuck to me forever, lol.

I did another check just now and its working for me in the floors you listed (burning basement, etc) also not sure why some floors would work and not others (unless you've got some other mod on that's trying to play music), might need to reset the custom list, or delete and redownload the mod

Hmm, I'm not sure if this is a me thing, but I'm experiencing trouble on certain floors, but not all of them. On certain floors, when I enter a room I have set to "Use Floor Track", it plays the Antibirth version of that particular floor. I checked each floor and listed which ones are wonky:

Doesn't Work: Burning Basement, Downpour, Dross, Flooded Caves, Mines, Ashpit, Depths, Gehena, Scarred Womb, Sheol, Chest, Necropolis, Dank Depths, Mausoleum.


Works: Basement, Cellar, Caves, Catacombs, Womb, Utero, Corpse, Cathedral, Dark Room, Void, Home

I'm not sure what's up, but if it's not happening to anyone else, then it's definitely just me and I'm stumped lol.

Oh my god it works! You've no idea how long I've wanted this feature lol. It's as game-changing as it was when I first found Soundtrack Menu. I got so tired of all the same tracks, I started just muting the music. Now I've got some of the greatest game music around playing the whole run, and now I get to actually hear all of it. oh, that's not working as intended, picking 'floor track' is supposed to work like 'silence' where it removes the second option (I'm pretty sure it did when I first implemented it but that was a while back, wonder how long its been doing this for) I'll see whats going on and patch it in a bit

The mod I want most in Isaac right now is to be able to listen to my amazing tracks without it constantly being interrupted by secret rooms and the like. Unfortunately, this is asking me to select which library to choose from along with the "Use Floor Track" option.

For example, I have Depths set to "Antibirth, Dank Depths". While in Depths, if I want to use the floor track, I have to select "Antibirth, Use Floor Track" under "Set Secret Room Music". That would, however, make every floor's secret room be the the respective Antibirth track.

Weirdly, when I select Default/Use Floor Track, it starts playing the preview music for whatever I have chosen for that floor, which is great. But when I enter the room it plays Rebirth/Use Floor Track.

Is there a way to just never change the music for the set room? Kinda like when you choose "Silence", there's just one line because that's all it could be. Having to pick from a library with "Use Floor Track" doesn't really use the floor track.
