The maps won't load whilst using civilizations expanded, otherwise nice maps! <3

A really nice selection of maps! I tried out two of them today and they were really fun. I think that they seem to be missing tribal villages but other than that they're well designed for good play. Would probably recommend one if I am looking to play with a friend.

@Niki
Thank you for nice mod. Could you please let the mod leader play?
I mean I wish config restriction conditions are limited by civilization only.

If anyone is interested in either testing or designing this style of maps with or alongside me (I can try to teach you. It ain't that hard.), please add me on Discord. Niki#5770 (English, Deutsch)

Niki, those maps are fantastic, each and every one of them! Well ballanced in an intelligent way: usually the two civs have different map flavour, different feel to play. The cherry on top: great placement of resources, always giving tough choices for city placement but at the same time cities nicely cover almot everything. Keep on the great work, thank you for these masterpieces!

The new maps look great! I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with the Greece map!

Some other ideas you might consider:
Atlantic Northeast [us-canad.com] with America vs. Canada
Andes Mountains [i.pinimg.com] with Inca vs. Mapuche, and Nazca city-state (maybe Rapa Nui too)
Song Dynasty [upload.wikimedia.org] with China vs. Mongolia

@Niki
Thank you for making the fun mode! And could you please mark both Sea of Japan and East Sea? Because the name was chosen unilaterally during Japanese imperialism, so there is controversy.

I'm glad you Iike the maps! Sadly, I don't own the most recent DLCs. So I wont be able to add Maya or Vietnam. But I've been considering Greece vs. Greece, as well.

I hope you enjoy Norway vs. Sweden in the meantime!

These maps are great! I had a lot of fun with the British Isles and Rome/Carthage map. Some suggestions which I think would be cool:

Mesoamerica [cdn.britannica.com] with Aztecs vs. Maya, with La Venta and Mitla city-states
Indochina [www.china-briefing.com] with Khmer vs. Vietnam, and Ayutthaya city-state
Peloponnesus [artsourceinternational.com] with Pericles vs. Gorgo

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I just played the Great Britain Map and I absolutely agree with you. No room for a 3.rd civ. By the time I made my posting I had played only Rome/Carthago .
Cant wait to play the other maps as well. Thanks again und liebe gruesse nach deutschland (von einem ehemaligen oesi).

Thanks! It's nice to hear you are heaving fun playing!
Unfortunately, adding a third civilization to choose from does not fit into what I have planned for very well. The specific map you mentioned is an exception to that, but the other maps tend to offer a lot less land to settle on. This results in the two starting locations having to be carefully balanced to ensure that neither player can gain a significant advantage over the other, early on, by founding their second city in front of their opponent's capital and thus blocking them off. Furthermore, on most maps the strategic resources are located in a way that suits the given starting position. If were to add a completely new one, I might have to reorganize those as well.

Simply editing the .Civ6Map files wont work. You will have to work on the Gameplay/Maps.sql and Configuration/Maps.sql to allow for more players. Changing terrain, features, resources etc. however should be possible using the MapEditor. But make sure to not save the map in the mod's folders. Otherwise, it will be deleted when I update the mod in the workshop.

Hallo Niki, liebe gruesse aus san francisco.

I love your maps, thank you very much - I am sure that was a lot of work.
I have a question - would it be possible to open those maps for 1 more civilization ?
Could I do that myself in the map editor ?
I believe having a third civilization would give more options and twists to the plot .
For example - the map "Dido and Trajan" , bringing Spain into the plot would make it very interesting.
Just an idea.....anyways.....thanks again, I love playing them very much.

i didn't expect to update the new map again, nice!
Niki  [author] Sep 2, 2020 @ 11:19am
I already thought of something simmilar, however, I am very sure, that most people prefer chosing technologies, civics and founding and developing their cities according a stratagy chosen by themself. Also future maps might not take place in a specific era (e. g. India vs. India).
The wonders will be added.

Nice maps! It would be cool if they could be more scenario-like, where there could be multiple cities and technologies accurate to the time period when the two civs would be in conflict. Also, the Matterhorn wonder is missing from the Rome vs. Carthage map and the Pamukkale wonder is missing from the Ottomans vs. Hungary map, but other than that, nice job!

- China vs Mongolia
- France (Eleanor) vs France (De Medici)
- Japan vs Korea
- Canada vs Cree
- India (Chandragupta) vs India (Ghandi)
- Greece vs Greece
- Macedon vs Persia

love this idea! It would be awsome to see some more! Maybe Western China, Korea, and Japan would be cool, though that would be more of a trio.. I'm subscribing to this and would love to see new stuff in the future!

Thanks!
@Emperor Eden, I did what you suggested. There are two Continents now. Great Britain and Ireland.

this is rad. love duel maps

This looks great. I can't wait to see more, just a suggestion but I think you should seperate the island of Ireland and the island of Great Britain into seperate continents. That way Victoria can utilise her abilities. :)
