he's 100% dead, Dialysis treatment means the body just cant function like it used to, as grim as that was to say, I am certain the mod creator is dead
rip man

To the creator of this mod, it's been nearly a year, and I'm just asking if your doing alright?
Xarduvik  [author] Nov 8, 2021 @ 12:36pm
@jjbeck1 - Your happiness is all the payment I need, and it's done in full. Thank you, very much. :)
MossyMachete Nov 7, 2021 @ 6:25am
@xarduvik This is my favorite M&B mod. Thank you for leaving it up. I want to pay you back or support you if I can.
MrYam Nov 2, 2021 @ 8:08am
@Xarduvik Sorry to hear that. I got some good times with this mod. Be well and thank you.
Xarduvik  [author] Nov 2, 2021 @ 1:37am
UPDATE: 11/02/2021 - As much as I love this game, I can no longer devote time to fixing the code on this mod. It's not about liking or disliking. In March of 2021 I suffered a stroke, then an infection that went septic and nearly killed me. Instead, it killed my kidneys and I'm now on dialysis three times a week, and it wears me out to the bone. So I must stop here and let this mod live as is. I will not remove it, but it will also no longer be updated or worked upon. Thank you everyone for giving this mod a try.
Xarduvik  [author] Nov 2, 2021 @ 1:32am
@haslador - I agree. I personally dislike Diplomacy in any version release, but so many demanded it over and over, so I did the best I could with what little experience I owned. I'm going to update the description and let folks know what's going on as well. Thank you for giving this mod a shot. :)
haslador Nov 1, 2021 @ 9:18am
This mods adds some intresting things, but i think your other mod is much better in terms of balance.
MrYam Oct 6, 2021 @ 8:43pm
Is this similar to the vanila suprise?
Xarduvik  [author] Aug 15, 2021 @ 4:37pm
@The Tempted Man - Thanks to the complexity of Diplomacy, adding to the cheat menu is a recipe for massive coding disasters, which is why I don't touch anything related to the cheat menu.
The Tempted Man Aug 12, 2021 @ 1:37pm
Could the new weapons be added to cheat menu?
Xarduvik  [author] May 8, 2021 @ 3:45am
@Sergentmarine - Sorry it took me so long to reply. Only been home since the last couple of days. Main menu song was a battle tune from a list of paid for royalty free music package. I do not know the actual name. When I bought it years before I modded, it came as a single file I could splice music from, about 8 songs were sold together without titles. It sounds different because that is the music I substituted for the main menu tune.
Sergentmarine May 1, 2021 @ 6:26am
Main menu song name pls? and why does it sound different from the originial?
iscream4icecream Mar 17, 2021 @ 10:21pm
@Xarduvik - Cool Thanks!
Xarduvik  [author] Mar 17, 2021 @ 9:54pm
@Omega Viduus - The flaming sword is RNG on every city vendor in the game, which refreshes only once a game week. Or, alternatively, you can start over and over again until the RNG puts it into the city vendor you spawn in. I've done that a few times myself when I needed to test it.
iscream4icecream Mar 17, 2021 @ 7:55pm
Where do I get the glowing sword?
haslador Jul 18, 2020 @ 11:13pm
Well it seems this mod is coming off my list and im once again restarting the game yet finish it, due to all the diplomacy mod it self bugs, and ill have to go back to your other mod once again. @Xarduvik Please add more stuff to your mod.
Xarduvik  [author] Jul 16, 2020 @ 3:09pm
Thank you, haslador. I'll go through them tomorrow.
haslador Jul 16, 2020 @ 12:55pm
@Xarduvik i sent you a message of a list of bugs i found in just 2 hours of playing the mod.
Xarduvik  [author] Jul 14, 2020 @ 10:29pm
@haslador again - Also, go to the change notes tab there at the top of this column. Read everything there. Those are the bugs that are currently in this mod that I can't seem to find and fix. i haven't abandoned it by any means, it's just a slow going process that hasn't yielded positive results yet.
Xarduvik  [author] Jul 14, 2020 @ 10:26pm
@haslador - A large number of my fixes made it into Diplomacy Surprise, but not all of them. Like the tournament relationship reward. Diplomacy 4.3 knocks it back down to 1, and the code is so redone, that it's not a native adjustment anymore, and I can't find it in the new code. If I put the line in the proper place since it's missing, the game crashes. So the elements of Diplomacy 4.3 does undo some of the changes I made, but not all of them. Increased bandits are still there, but raising troops are harder, and making money is a touch harder.
haslador Jul 14, 2020 @ 4:59pm
Main fix you did i was wondering about is the rebalancing of the playing you buy, and the easier troop counts.
haslador Jul 14, 2020 @ 4:54pm
Does this have the stuff from your mod, Vanilla Surprise for Warband 1.174 in it? i love that mod and use it all the time, to me it fixes a lot of the inbalances.
Xarduvik  [author] Jun 2, 2020 @ 10:29am
@MadLad - Ah, cheatmenu. Yes, the cheatmenu breaks things all the time. The dev for Diplomacy 4.3 warns that if cheatmenu is used, it's not his fault how badly it can break the code.
MadLad Jun 2, 2020 @ 5:01am
I just love how flexible this mod goes with the cheatmenu. Those " more fun " parameter on prices and currency, new weapon with slightly more attribute that the lords never actually used.
MadLad Jun 2, 2020 @ 4:56am
@Xarduvik It rarely happens but when it happens it's annoying. Never happened if you choose to be a noble right from the start of the game because the game prompt you to select a banner on day 1. I'm guessing I messed up something while playing. Maybe I used too much cheatmenu on lords menu like adding them to my party, changing their name, etc.
Xarduvik  [author] Jun 1, 2020 @ 11:07am
@MadLad - Good question! First time I've heard of this. Please do a file integrity check on the game first, that alone may resolve the issue. All of the engine files are original, only certain math values have been touched, not the core code. On the graphics end, it only swapped certain files to load for head model, hair, beards and extra textures. Nothing original was removed, just a few things substituted.

If the file integrity check passes, put all save game into a different location. Then uninstall the game and and mods, as Steam can sometimes mess something up on download. At reinstall, all subscribed mods will be freshly reinstalled. Restore the save game files. 95% of the time, this will fix issues. If it doesn't, please let me know.
MadLad May 31, 2020 @ 11:50am
So, I got into a banner choosing loop where the game keep prompting me to choose a banner but didn't apply my selected banner. It keeps repeating every once in a while... Is this M&B bug or this mod bug?
japofu Apr 11, 2020 @ 5:56pm
@Xarduvik Oi m8 as soon as I get my corona virus money package Bannerlord will be all I know and breathe!
Xarduvik  [author] Apr 11, 2020 @ 12:57pm
@japofu - Not really. I was intending on only releasing Vanilla Surprise originally, but there was such a huge call for Diplomacy, I took the time (several months) learning on how to get it working. I'm playing Bannerlord for now, but I'm not abandoning folks who play here. Rock on! ^_^
japofu Apr 11, 2020 @ 12:49pm
@Xarduvik Thank you so much for the instructions my dude, you are a fkin legend. The mod is perfect now ;) Got any more mods in the works?
Xarduvik  [author] Apr 11, 2020 @ 12:45pm
@japofu - Go to the drive you installed Steam on and find \Program Files (x86)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\48700\1903901658

The folder numbered 48700 is for M&B:Warband, and the final long number is Diplomacy Surprise. Those numbers do not change. In that last long number file is a folder called 'Music' and open it. Even though they are ogg files, Windows 10 should be able to play them for you when selected. (At least it does for my Windows 10, which is the cheaper Home version) Play them until you find the song you dislike and simply delete the song from that folder. The game will know and will play the original game music for that particular file.

I'm glad you're having fun. ^_^
japofu Apr 11, 2020 @ 8:51am
I have over 300 hours in modded warband and this is by far my favorite "vanilla style" mod. Perfect simplicity and the small annoyances of vanilla gone. The soundtrack is fantastic as well. I just hate that one techno/80's-ish song. Is there a way to delete it from the mod? thanks for your great work
Xarduvik  [author] Apr 7, 2020 @ 8:22pm
@Watchful - This is a bug that I cannot replicate, and because of that, I can't find a fix for it. Those squished faces of those Lords are from the engine erasing and disfiguring the places where mustaches and beards are supposed to be. While I have never had it happen on all three of my computers, a handful of people here have had this issue. I worked for almost two months trying to find the cause, to no avail. My apologies for not having a fix at the ready for this problem.
Xarduvik  [author] Mar 17, 2020 @ 12:35pm
@rico - Go down to my Feb 29th post at 6:01am - it's not too far down, and follow the info I gave to find the mod folder. Delete the music folder in the mod file. Return your slider to normal. Two things... one, the original game music will play when that is done. If it sounds good and nothing crashes, then Steam may have mangled the download and you can uncheck and recheck the subscription to try it again. Steam on occasion does mangle them for no obvious reason. Two, if it doesn't fix the issue and your game still crashes while using theoriginal game music, might want to reinstall your sound drivers. Either way, there is a possible path to fixing the crashing issue. Good luck!
rico Mar 17, 2020 @ 11:40am
I changed my music slider so I can barely hear and the music seemed off, too techno like and almost dubstep like. It also crashed my game countless times, entering or leaving places it would crash my game if I had music enabled.
咸鱼 Mar 14, 2020 @ 3:46pm
I see. Thank you for all your help. :steamhappy:
Xarduvik  [author] Mar 14, 2020 @ 1:56pm
@JasianJuy - I found a lot of relation rewards from Lords in the 'conversation' file, and I could not find the lines where Lord gifts are calculated. It's why I cranked up the rewards for things like accepting collecting taxes (from +1 to +10) and the reward for completion to +15 rep, so it can be boosted a bit better. Failing it, I reduced the penalty to -1. That way you're still ahead. It was much easier for me to adjust values in Vanilla, but fair warning here, Diplomacy changes quite a bit in other locations that I have yet to discover.
咸鱼 Mar 13, 2020 @ 10:13am
Thank You. I was wondering if there was a way to edit the amount of relation points you get with a lord after sending them oil, ale, and wine? Will you direct me to that file/location if you do. Thanks again in advance. :cozybethesda:
Xarduvik  [author] Mar 12, 2020 @ 10:16pm
@JasianJuy - Go to the description page, near the bottom where I list the credits. The first one is a link directly to Diplomacy 4.3. Go there and review his information. He gives a link to download the mod files with source code to compile with. The module system is the current one listed at Taleworld's modding forums, called 'The Forge' and their various tool kits that work with it.

I hate the module system. I can't stress enough how much agony it puts me through. Good luck.
咸鱼 Mar 12, 2020 @ 7:56pm
Do you have the module system that was used to make this? I wanted to try and change somethings.
angrydwarfman1 Mar 8, 2020 @ 11:23am
Epic mod! Shame it can't be save game compatible...
Microsoft Powerpoint Mar 1, 2020 @ 6:27am
@Xarduvik Thank you, this has been a great help.
Xarduvik  [author] Feb 29, 2020 @ 4:01am
@Microsoft Powerpoint - Absolutely. Steam does keep some funky locations for their mods. I'll gladly help you find them. Go to the drive you installed Steam on and find \Program Files (x86)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\48700\1903901658

The folder numbered 48700 is for the game itself, and the final long number is Diplomacy Surprise. Those numbers do not change. The Mod folder you originally found is for modules that are 'manually' installed, especially if you downloaded it from a different site that is not Steam.

I have three Steam libraries installed on my work computer, one for each working SSD. The original root drive (C) I installed on doesn't list it exactly the same way as the path above, but it's close enough to figure out with ease. If you mess with the file structure, make another Library somewhere as a backup. ^_^
Microsoft Powerpoint Feb 28, 2020 @ 2:33pm
Hey, imma gamer who was playing this for a time yesterday and was just wondering, for personal tweaking reasons, if this game has a module file? When I loaded up Mount&Blade, Diplomacy Surprise was one of the modules, so i assumed when I went to my modules folder, there would be a file for it. There wasn't. If it DOES exist, could I please know the location?
Xarduvik  [author] Feb 28, 2020 @ 9:53am
@Psii - I hear you loud and clear, and I agree with you. I'm currently waiting on a new release of Diplomacy 4.3 with fixes so I can update the files. In the Discussions section, I have a link to their page with the current fixes and upcoming changes. i still haven't found a fix for when lords defect but don't show up at your castle, but are in the field all by themselves under your faction color with no troops. You have to find and talk with them to accept them as a vassal before they'll do their thing, and worse, if you're at war with anyone when it happens, there's a huge chance they'll be captured under your flag before you can accept them as a vassal...
Xarduvik  [author] Feb 28, 2020 @ 9:50am
@Walsingham - Yuppers, though that edition is out of print and the third segment in a trilogy. As an apology of sorts for reading too much into your disagreement, you see anything you'd like to read (that's currently available) send me a friend request, PM me a viable email once I accept the request, and I'll email you a free copy in whatever format you like, be it Epub or PDF or mobi, just name the title and format and it's yours. ^_^
Psii Feb 28, 2020 @ 7:20am
Good native mod, nice improvements. Diplomacy section is broken. The King struggles to keep their Lords happy, revolts and treason are common, causing Lords to be cycled. The handing out of settlements takes too long. Working for my King as Marshal, I have conquered over half the map. The King sits on over 100 unassigned settlements.
Walsingham Feb 28, 2020 @ 2:30am
