Necro :)
Paracetamol isn't merely a pain killer. It is also used against fevers :)

@NECEROS I'd not mind a bit! I make all of my mods with the mentality that others may use them as they please; you're even free to use my code if you think you can improve on it.

University has busied me much past where I could work on my Rimworld v2 mods for the last few months, so I completely understand that some people might not want to wait for f*cking ever for me to get it sorted.

Best of luck!

@Still

I'd like to make my own version of this drug in my own mod, though changed to suit my own needs of course. Would you mind terribly?

OOOoooooo Paracetamol v2!! neat

@NECEROS that's a good catch on the compatibility. Thanks for the patch and the information. I'll look into making the main mod compatible with Drug Response when I have time, possibly over the weekend.

Much appreciated!

@Unnamed

Wanted to let ya know I've made this patch mod for you, so Paracetamol can be used with Drug Response mod.

That mod wasn't working because paracetamol is too low to be seen as an anti pain drug.

If you want to fix this yourself, you'll have to change the painOffset into a painFactor and put it to 0.8 (that's the highest it can be for Drug Response to see it)

Thank you folks for the COLOSSAL support on this mod. The next companion mod, Nitroglycerin, has been released here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1901986629

This mod adds nitroglycerin, for boosting blood flow at the expense of frequent headaches. Be sure to keep an eye out for future releases.

oh sorry, i asumed methadone came from this, since its a new drug.
maybe it came from the physcology mod.
NECEROS Oct 29, 2019 @ 1:31pm
Methadone is from Psychology.
Shida  [author] Oct 29, 2019 @ 12:54pm
@MythN7 so first of all, bad terminology on my part. hediffs are what Rimworld's XML files call health effects, good or bad. They form the basic containers where we can create new health effects.

Also, methadone is not part of this mod. I'm not sure exactly where it *is* from, but THIS mod only adds paracetamol. Your questions on that are best directed somewhere else.

You're correct as well, further meds that I add will be in independent mods so people can cherrypick which ones that want. Later down the line, the balance may get tricky, and I respect that there's going to be a demographic for whom some of my mods just aren't part of their playstyle.

Sedatives, and any further meds will be in their own mods.

Thanks for your questions & feedback!
MythN7 Oct 29, 2019 @ 8:20am
what do you mean hediffs? i dont get that term.

also, is being addicted and having withdrawl of this methadone intended?

my suggestion of the bill for a maintained anthesitic you liked, but kinda sounds like you said you want features to be in smaller other mods so people can pick and choose.

is that idea gonna be a new mod or part of this one if you add it?

other people are loving it to from other forums i mentioned it in.
Shida  [author] Oct 28, 2019 @ 10:24pm
@MythN7 the meds *do* appear in traders, and I'm honestly not sure which ones, but I know I've encountered it in my playtesting.

I don't actually have to do anything in my mod for them to appear in traders, that's part of the base game's special sauce, so it should be relatively difficult for me to screw that up.

Making tapering hediffs like that go away without just flat-out curing them is difficult. Perhaps I'll make something that cures it instantly, but knocks them unconscious for a few days or something.

@mythN7

Look for the Life Support mod.
MythN7 Oct 28, 2019 @ 7:32pm
one thing i would like to add, so far all the traders are willing to buy these new meds, but I have yet to see any, even the ones i travel to there town to. none seem to sell them.

even the ones that have a few glitter meds, dont have it.

Also, the Methadone says its a drug to give to get people off drugs while in withdrawl.

But I got a pawn that was generated with a Methadone addiction. So, i cant give him this drug to get him off his addiction lol.

From the description it sounds like its a non addictive drug that you use to help them detox.

I can upload the screenshot of his health overview if you want.

@MythN7
That's actually a great idea. Watch r/Rimworld for the release of both that and most probably nitroglycerin (for heart conditions) tomorrow or Thursday.

Further full-features aren't coming to the Paracetamol mod, as I want users to have the option to cherrypick which of my medicine mods they wish to use, as, especially with nitroglycerin, I have some concerns about balance. Nitroglycerin and most probably what will wind up being Halothane will be released over the coming days, because I really do like the idea of having the option to just knock out a pawn for a set span of time.

Thanks for the suggestion! I always love having feedback on my content.
MythN7 Oct 27, 2019 @ 2:56pm
Hey, I was gonna post a thread for a mod request, but this mod seems to be very inline to my want.

could you add another feature?

You know the seditive at the bottom of the bills tab in health.

I would like to see one that is basicly the same,but a non stop treatment, maybe called induced coma, for patients that are under extreme or severe pain, so they dont keep having breaks while healing in bed, without having to micro manage that health bill order every 12 game hours.
NECEROS Oct 24, 2019 @ 3:18pm
This looks great! I use Rimcuisine 2.0 which adds the more addictive pain killers like vicodin and up. This will be a great addition.
Shida  [author] Oct 24, 2019 @ 1:36pm
Liver damage on overdose has been added.
SingABrightSong Oct 24, 2019 @ 7:53am
Fun fact: The disparate names for the analgesic, including brand name Tylenol, are different contractions of the chemical name Para-acetylaminophenol
Paladin Oct 23, 2019 @ 11:58pm
It may cause liver chemical damage.
gyppygirl2021 Oct 23, 2019 @ 11:14pm
The nitpicker in me would like to point out that it's spelled "acetaminophen". :P

Would there be any way to make it so that overuse of the medication causes liver damage? That's a possible effect of acetaminophen in real life...
