I’m sorry I wasn’t able to resolve your issue, but anytime. The most I can offer is that you could take your issue to the discussion forums here on SFM. There’s probably someone that’ll be able to assist with you further than I could offer as of now.
Apart from that, a good night to you as well. :)
For some of my other ports, it’s a thing where you have to use override materials to utilize the custom eye textures. Otherwise, I implement the custom skins myself without the need for override materials.
I believe you just have to have the vtf file in the SFM folder somewhere.
So basically, have that, then do override materials, $basetexture as string, copy and paste full path to texture, then delete part of it before “models.”
It should then work.
Look if not, then I don’t know how I can help you further.
Did you delete the part before “models”?
Yes. Everything. That’s what I mean by, “full path to texture.”
Alright.
As a string, right?
Make sure you have it as $basetexture and as a string. Then, what you would do is copy the full path to the texture, and delete the part before “models.”
It should then show.
Okay, hold on. You don’t have to necessarily move around things to make them work.
We just have to do some stuff with override materials. Are you using that?
Oh, I think I see what you’re doing.
You just copied the full path to the texture. The thing is that won’t work. You have to delete the part before “models”, I believe.
.. But it showed up as missing textures..
You just typed in “Evil Rathalos 1”?
Wait… just the name of the textures?
Tell me exactly what you’re doing when you we’re applying to custom textures, and I’ll try guiding you along.
Skylanders?
Probably, or probably not. It’s not on my mind right now, but I’ll consider it.
I'm not going to restrict myself to just that one game. I'm not too sure on which one yet, since I saw most of what's been left waiting in my hard drive, the models I meant, is that they are from the Super Smash Bros. series...
Regardless, there's still a couple of games I would like to port from. I think from, what you said, Breath of the Wild, but also some other games as well, maybe outside of the Switch.
I was considering porting from Paladins. I messed around with the models back then, seeing what I could do with them, practice on what I was doing, rather, and there is some leftover stuff from that. There's some other stuff from the Mario series as well.
Again, I'll see what I can do.
TL;DR I will port models from other games besides Ultimate, and outside the Switch, given enough time and tools to do so.
Thanks, by the way. :)
